Topic : 12/06 Teacher Troubles

When watching the first 5 minutes of today's show i felt for the teacher who was asked to leave her school for preforming in adult videos prior to her teaching career. I can only imagine how terrible it must be to feel the loss of everything she has worked for. I think maybe she should take this incident and see what she can do with it to help others. I was just watching a show a while ago about this 18 year old girl who is now starring in porno's and she claims to only be doing it to help her financially get on her feet and fulfill her true dream in the future. People close to her coulnd't talk her out of it, her mind is made up. I think this teacher should set an example to these younger girls. Yes, the teacher has matured, and she has made something of herself, but we need to start somewhere, and maybe this teacher losing her job will help stop young females from doing the same thing. History is an important part of life.

We tell our kids that people make mistakes and that we can rise above them.  Then we refuse to allow an example of rising above in their midst.  I sat and discussed this with my 16 year old daughter.  Here is her take on it......

Hello, Dr. Phil, my name is Kryssye. I'm sixteen years old and very opinionated, but I try to stay open minded.  This episode made me vehemently angry, however, and this is why.  I don't condone being a porn star, but there are worse proffesions.  Prostitutes, for example, don't pay taxes and will sleep will pretty much everyone.  Porn stars have to pay taxes and not everyone has access to them. Why did these children have porn movies anyway, where were THEIR parents?  This women wanted to teach, to help,  youth like me.  Our teachers go through so much to teach us, and they are spit at and treated so badly by parents as well as students.  No matter what her background, this women had changed her life, and did not deserve to be removed from her job.  This is a prime example of hypocricy in America.  The people who fired her act as if they have never made a mistake, or that that child was not in the wrong.  What's wrong with them?  I'm seriously considering moving to Canada as this country is closed minded and has forgotten all the morals that made us humans in the first place.  Now, the only thing that separates us from monkeys is our currency and firearms...

WOW!  I must say I am proud of my little girl. To know that I have had a part in raising a child this open minded and forgiving gives me hope for America's future (If the politics don't run her away from the country her dad and uncle fought for)

I believe that her past should not of affect her teaching school,,it's been 11yrs ago,,she made mistakes she has learned from .      everyone I believe has something that they are not proud of from there past ,,

I think if she is good at her teaching that she should go on however the past will follow her eveywhere unless she is willing to remove all porn off the internet and if everwhere else, that may have these ,if she can get help to remove these,,,takes money to remove

I think she should keep her job

I hope that all of those other teachers talking about good values and the such think about if they want to teach their students forgiveness???  And especially for all the Christians out there, since when did Jesus say "Oh well, you screwed up so now I will only love you this much??"  He didn't.  This woman made a very HUGE mistake, but she changed her whole entire life!!! She got an education....an education to better the lives of other children! That is such an accomplishment.  As a mother and a woman, I have made many mistakes throughout my life, but always knew that I could turn my life around.  Yes, there is always the chance that those skeletons could come out of my closet and if that should ever happen, I will be able to look into my daughter's eyes and tell her that I am not only her mother, but also a woman and that I made mistakes, but had the opportunity to make my life better. 

This school is teaching their children that if they make a mistake, it will ruin their futures!  That is horrible.  It is a high school.  The children are experimenting with sex, drugs, alcohol, and smoking.  Are they supposed to think that every mistake they make will haunt them someday?  Why change then?  Why not just keep making the same mistakes??

You know some people should remember these words, "Judge not, least you be judged" and also, You who are without sin, cast the first stone"  If she can do the job then let her, don't judge her for her past mistakes.  Another questioon how did the kids get the tapes who provided them and how did they find out.  They just don't go to the adult store an by a tape and say it's my teacher, an adult had to get access to it and had to know who it was.  Also why doesn't the school have back ground checks on individuals, if they do, did they find anything

I feel really badly for this lady.  I cant beleive none of the other teachers  have NEVER done anything in their past  that could mak ethen a negative roll model!

I agree that  this woman made mistakes in the past, but she was medically ill! she was a non medicated bi polar and an alcoholic no one could say she was thinking straight, the poor ladies chemicals were so out of balence. 

And the kids, no what the heck were they doign with Porn any ways! If you ask me thats bad parenting allowing your children to have that in their possesion.  and how did they just happen to stumble apon the one that their teacher was in? were they purposely out to destroy her reputation??? just seems liek a bit too much of a coincedence  25 tapes in the course of how many MILLIONS of types of porn videos are there??

 I'm sorry but as a 25 year old woman I have NEVER looked up to the goodie two shoes, know it all teacher.  and even on TV shows the student/patient  whom ever ALWAYS relates and confides in some one who has shared the same experiences. 

Wouldn't this woman do more good as a roll model by sharing her secret?  I'm not sayign advertise her self as a porn star I'm saying sharign her sotry of alcohol abuse and illness and prove to people (students) that it doesnt' matter HOW deep you are in you can go to school become a teacher, turn your life around, and be one of the best teachers out there!  who knows maybe she could save some lives!!!  Maybe there is that teenaged girl out there that  she coud lsave from a life or pornography and a life of alcohol ism.........but if she isn't given the chance we will not know!!!!

If docors and Lawyers are aloud  to still practice after stippign to pay their way through school , trust me any one who has BEEN into a strip club can agree that is not much better!  Should we take children away from mothers who have stripped in highschool or college b/c they were kicked out by their parents, or lost in their own lives?

grow up , we always say leave the past IN the PAST.  People are afraid of the tabboo, and they are afraid of what others may think.  get over it stand up for what is right, and letting this woman tell her story  that is what is right!

hello, Im only 18, and im not sure my opinion matters, but, isnt the whole point of school to learn from your mistakes. To make mistakes, and learn from them so that they dont make them again. Why cant a teacher make mistakes too. they are people just like anyone else, and i think that having that past would make her a better person for the job. she can show kids what not to do, and how not to get to the point she was at. I think that parents are way too overprotective of their children. What harm is she going to do for the kids now. she has been teaching for how long. she is deffintly a different person than she was way back when. what do you think shes going to start stripping infront of her class... parents need to take a chill pill. there are alot of people in the world that have had terrible pasts wheter it be drug addictions or alcholics or anything, they clean up their act and make something out of themselves. i think this teacher needs to say hey, you know what, i did do that, and im not proud of it. im sure there are alot of things in your lives that you arent proud of either.. nobody is perfect, and that doesnt exclude teachers.. thats why they are teachers.. to teach.. why cant life lessons be taught aswell!

The teacher victimized on MY Space . Com should sue the parents and hold the students accountable as well.  

The students should be punished with school community- type service jobs until the end of the school year and It should seriously cut into their mis-spent leisure time.

Why should you contain the matter inside the school system when the crime was committed away from the school and the damage has world-wide ramifications and humilation? 

If anyone hardcopied the MySpace entry, then your second guest may someday be in the same predicament as your first guest.  

Sorry, the "prank" lacks the innocence the parents are attempting to assign it.
