Kids across the country are playing pranks and harassing teachers. Tericka, a high school science teacher who loved her job, lived in fear of her scandalous past catching up with her and getting her fired. Students eventually found out about her shocking past and the news spread throughout town like wildfire. Are other teachers taking her side, or do they feel her punishment was justified? How can she move forward? Then, Anna, an assistant principal, was harassed on the Internet when two students created a fake MySpace page alleging to be her. She says they completely attacked her character and need to be held accountable for their actions. Was this just a practical joke gone bad, or were these students out for revenge? Find out what Anna did to show these kids that some jokes just aren't funny. Could the mischief your kids get into end up costing you thousands of dollars? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

12/06 Teacher Troubles

She made some bad choices early in her adult life, but who hasn't.  She put it behind her.  What action would the school board have taken if the boys were passing porn tapes around school with only strangers for actors?  As a parent, I would be concerned only if she was advocating her past life as ok.  If she stresses that she made mistakes and learned from them, I'm ok with it.  When my children were students in our local school system, we had a local elementary school teacher who was physically abusive to his children to the point that child protective services got involved.  It was in the local paper (front page) that he was court ordered to counseling for a year.  We had two other married teachers who had a very public affair, later divorced their spouses and married each other and continued to teach.  We have a high school teacher (male and married) who has repeatedly had affairs with high school girls for more than 20 years.  I don't hear the parents or other teachers complaining about the example these teachers are setting.

Wake up Dr Phil

Maybe you didn't intend to ask a fairly silly question of the assistant principal whose students created the pornographic myspace wite.

You asked why didn't she just punish them within the school system.  UH HELLO - what the students did was global - not some prank within the school system.

unfair

Ok, what most people dont know is that the majority of teachers are cruel, demeaning and unfair. Teachers are just human, and its rediculous to think that they are some higher more respectable person because they teach. I'm sorry, but I was in education and the only reason I entered it was because most teachers are bullies and treat students like slaves. I'm not saying that all teachers are bad, but how dare they point fingers at someone who found an alternative way to support a family when going through tough times. I bet that redneck male teacher that was on that show had rented porn before and yet, he's pointing fingers at her. She seems like she is one of the good teachers out there and its a shame that she is being persecuted for poor decisions made in order to survive.

roll models

I think that if the teacher is suspended for not being a good roll model then the obese teacher ( The teacher that is a father of 3 boys) should also lose his job as what kind of example is he setting. As he said decisions have consequences.

Get a reality check

By not letting this teacher teach is basically teaching children that once you make mistakes in your life you can never change that. This woman is a great role model because she exemplifies that sure she made bad choices in life but there is hope you can change your ways, and you can become a better person, and make something of your life. These days kids are getting into serious trouble by winding up in the wrong crowds, so why don't we give them hope that they can change your life around. I guess for the people going against this woman are pretty much encouraging people who make bad choices in life to keep doing keep doing bad things because there is no hope for you cause you will never be accepted "apparently". So many teachers who may have a great past history are really horrible teachers, who make some students hate school.

Woe to the past

I am outraged that people are so self righteous! Everyone has a past and those that are quick to throw stones at glass houses are usually the ones trying to hide their hands! The principal should really readjust his way of thinking because we all have made decisions as young adults that we are not be proud of. Thank God that this teacher found a way out of this lifestyle and was trying to redirect a positive image in the community. It's not everyday that you hear that an ex porno star turns their life around to teach. It took hard work and dedication to study and become a teacher. Hopefully, she finds a job in the teaching profession where people are empathetic to Tericka's past.

Teachers are People, Too

I agree that pornography is appalling.  I agree that teenage boys are hormone driven and sometimes incapable of thinking of anything else.  I even agree that the teacher in this situation made some bad shoices, and cannot expect them to be completely forgotten when they are easily accessible by students.  However, i do not believe any of that has anything to do with her ability to perform the duties of her job.  Do the administrators who made the decision to suspend and further not renew her contract have clean slate pasts?  I am sure, while the extent of her involvement was significant, she is not the first teacher to ever make similar mistakes.  Women go into pornography and stripping all the time as a means to pay for their higher education.  Is that a great idea?  No, but it does not mean they are unable to be a role model for students as educators.  I understand that a highschool setting may not be the ideal place for her in the sense that children of that age are particularly sexual.  However, a solution to that problem could be as easy as her being transferred to an elementary school, or even a highschool in a different area.  I do not believe that she should continue to be punished for something that she did all those years ago.  Perhaps we should all take a look at our pasts and decide what our superiors and co-workers now would think of what we did 10 - 20 years ago.  No, not every one has an ugly past, but as a chistian i feel that those of us whose lives have been Blessed are obligated to help others the way the Lord has helped us.

It's sad

I am going to school right now to be a secondary education teacher and I am amazed at how the school handled that teacher. College is expensive and I applaude her for the efforts that she has put in. I understand that we need to look up to our teachers and I think she is a great role model. While I may not agree with the choices she made I do feel that she has learned from them and has become a better person. I would send my kids to her to teach and would look forward to life lessons that she could teach to them as well as fellow teachers. One thing I feel about teenagers is that those who have no role models in the family will struggle through school. If she can relate and understand that then she can get them past that and to the information being given to them. I wish her all the luck and to know that she does have people on her side.

hypocritical

I am a little disappointed in the Assistant Principal's choice to continue to persue felony charges against these students.  The previous teacher is currently still paying for her past mistakes.  This perpetuates that cycle.  The students are sorry.  Their families are sorry.
