Kids across the country are playing pranks and harassing teachers. Tericka, a high school science teacher who loved her job, lived in fear of her scandalous past catching up with her and getting her fired. Students eventually found out about her shocking past and the news spread throughout town like wildfire. Are other teachers taking her side, or do they feel her punishment was justified? How can she move forward? Then, Anna, an assistant principal, was harassed on the Internet when two students created a fake MySpace page alleging to be her. She says they completely attacked her character and need to be held accountable for their actions. Was this just a practical joke gone bad, or were these students out for revenge? Find out what Anna did to show these kids that some jokes just aren't funny. Could the mischief your kids get into end up costing you thousands of dollars? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

What were you thinking, Dr. Phil?

Quote From: pollyballard

I have taken several days to think about how I feel regarding the Assistant Principal sueing the student.  Without question, I understand her reasoning behind what she is doing.  So many methods of discipline have been taken away from the school systems: faculty, bus drivers and administration etc.  Their hands are tied and, in most cases, there are so few responsible parents who would follow through with discipline that would equal the bad behavior.  Most of our young people today are not held responsible for their behavior at a young age and that is why we have so many problems in our public school systems and in their private lives.

I have never been on this website mentioned but I have heard a lot about it and that most of our young people support it by visiting it frequently or participate in it.  If someone had written the smut on that website or any other, about a loved one of mine and I knew it was all false, I would be so very angry and probably want to do the same as this young professional.  I can't imagine Dr. Phil being so casual about it if it were his wife or someone he loved.  He would want the guilty party to be held accountable 100%.  Somehow, I got the impression he may have let this student off the hook with the apology and some community service.  These actions that  took place took hours of thought and deliberate planning.  It is not like he did it with a one second decision and then regretted it.  It took time and effort on his part to put this smut online.  He deserves to be held accountable to the fullest extent.  When he made the decision to print lies and attempt to ruin this professional persons life, he made HIMSELF responsible personally AND through the COURTS.  I realize he is young but if he is the "good" person his parents think he is then he can work hard to reestablish his reputation and overcome his stupidity

Polly

Dear Dr. Phil,
I am a former public school teacher (one inner-city, one upper-middle-class, and one rural school) and I was disappointed last week to see your reaction to the Assistant Principal who was suing some of her students.  Your recommendation had been to go through the school system as a way to discipline those students.  Because those students chose to wreak their havoc in a public arena, I think it is more than fitting for her to respond in kind.
In addition to this, the school systems' hands are very tied in terms of thepunishment they can dole out.  "Have them wash graffiti off the walls," you said.  Not possible, it's manual labor.
“Sure there is,” Dr. Phil points out. “You can discipline them. You can put them in detention every day for the rest of their lives. You can suspend them.”  These are not reasonable options, either.  Suspension and detention are more often than not, babysitters.  The child's education will be negated.
“I’m just wondering, if teachers start dragging students into the courthouse instead of handling them within the system, doesn’t that kind of demean the authority of the teacher?” Dr. Phil asks.  Students and parents have been dragging teachers into the courtroom for years now.  That is part of the reason teachers have so little authority anymore.  We have been stripped of any backing we -- years ago -- got from administrators or parents.  The students know this and they know the only threats we can make are usually idle ones.
I appreciate that you agree that teachers are overworked and underpaid.  I couldn't agree more.  But, at the same time, they are also being deprived of their abilities to effectively manage their classrooms.
Thank you for your time and all the work you do.  You and your bride have a wonderful venue through which to send so many positive messages.

12/06 Teacher Troubles

Quote From: fluffyfat

Let's see.  Going to work every day for years and spending all those work days,  naked, in front of a camera crew, having sex in kinky ways with a variety of strange men for whom you have no love or affection  The purpose  of the videos being  to sell to men who want something to look at while they masturbate.  Studies have shown that men who watch lots of porn have lower opinions of women, dislike their wives more after even one viewing, and are more likely to  commit rape.

What exactly do you think is so good about  all this?

BTW, my opinion doesn't make me "self-righteous" any more than your opinion that it's a good thing makes you, "self-righteous."   This is an internet discussion board.  I'm a little tired of being called names simply for stating my views.

One more thing:  People keep talking about how great it is that Tericka "turned her life around."  It's quite possible that the only reason she quit doing porn was that she got too old.  Most porn actresses are in their early twenties.

"Let's see.  Going to work every day for years and spending allthose work days,  naked, in front of a camera crew, having sex in kinkyways with a variety of strange men for whom you have no love oraffection"

So? I still don't see the problem. That is her business and she is hurting no one.

"The purpose  of the videos being to sell to men who wantsomething to look at while they masturbate."

So?

"Studies have shown thatmen who watch lots of porn have lower opinions of women, dislike theirwives more after even one viewing, and are more likely to  commit rape."

Can you back this up please? Or are you turning this around? Men who rape are more likely to watch huge amounts of porn. Because that is different.

"What exactly do you think is so good about  all this?"

'Good' is relative. (Besides, I never said it was "good"...I simply don't see the big huge deal.)

"BTW, my opinion doesn't make me "self-righteous" any more than youropinion that it's a good thing makes you, "self-righteous."  This isan internet discussion board.  I'm a little tired of being called namessimply for stating my views."

Well, my opinion is that you are self righteous

self-right·eous –-- confident of one's own righteousness, esp. when smugly moralistic and intolerant of the opinions and behavior of others.

These opinion strike me as smug. That is my opinion.

"One more thing:  People keep talking about how great it is that Tericka"turned her life around."  It's quite possible that the only reason shequit doing porn was that she got too old.  Most porn actresses are intheir early twenties."

Again, so? I have yet to hear a rational reason why ANY of this should interfere with her teaching. If she's a good teacher she's a good teacher.

Please, let's not call it acting.

Of course many kids are still gonna get their hands on porn.  But nothing will make it spread like wildfire more than knowing your teacher is the star.  You're not being realistic if you think it doesn't make a difference.
Again, so?

12/06 Teacher Troubles

Quote From: wiseguys95

Do you remember being in school?  When I was in school, if one of my teachers had been a former porn star, it would have been fascinating to all of us!  I would have been nosey enough to watch and I'm a girl!  Eventhough I believed it was wrong.  There would have been parties and the movies of choice would have been starring our teacher!!  Kids would have gathered around, pointed, laughed!  You have to know this is how it would be.  Yes, if all parents did their jobs this wouldn't happen, but the reality is it would.

Kids sincker and laugh at teachers all the time.  And parents could be PERFECT and their kids would still look at these things and giggle immaturely...why? Because they are kids!

12/06 Teacher Troubles

Quote From: wiseguys95

As I've said several times, this is not about forgiveness or passing judgement. It's about consequences.
well in your convictions of consequences it would seem you are in fact passing judgement in a very non forgiving way, thearfor making this situation just what you claim it to not be!

12/06 Teacher Troubles

Quote From: wiseguys95

It isunlawful for kids to purchase alcohol. Do you think it stops the problem?

I'm just saying, why peak their interest in it. Kids would say, 'You have to see this! My teacher is the star!'

its mans job to stop that problem, man and man alone created that problem and as long as man chouses to look the other way that problem will always be here,if parents were as respoincible as they should be children would not get there hands on porn alcohol  guns  drugs, all this falls on the parents of children whom have indulged in such things, and they shall be judged for this in coming days not as far off as most would think!

Questions

Er I have a question for the high school teacher in the blue suit on the right. When you made your porn movies did you practice safe sex and did you have to pay income tax on them?

If having sex with a man you've probably just met and pretending to enjoy it is not acting I don't know what is.
