Kids across the country are playing pranks and harassing teachers. Tericka, a high school science teacher who loved her job, lived in fear of her scandalous past catching up with her and getting her fired. Students eventually found out about her shocking past and the news spread throughout town like wildfire. Are other teachers taking her side, or do they feel her punishment was justified? How can she move forward? Then, Anna, an assistant principal, was harassed on the Internet when two students created a fake MySpace page alleging to be her. She says they completely attacked her character and need to be held accountable for their actions. Was this just a practical joke gone bad, or were these students out for revenge? Find out what Anna did to show these kids that some jokes just aren't funny. Could the mischief your kids get into end up costing you thousands of dollars? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

The teacher did not do anything illegal in her past!
Yet, it is illegal for minor children to have access to adult content material; who is accountable for that in this case?  Who is going to get fired or go to jail for allowing their kids to have access?
There are many teachers who are unfairly treated, or abused in other ways with thier careers ruined within our public school system for various purposes; I have learned this myself.  If teachers were informed before selecting the their profession on how things really work in the school system when someone is  a little different, uses critical thinking skills, and actually practices what a teacher teaches to students, no one would become a teacher in this country! Please visit www.endteacherabuse.org I hope this helps this teacher in that she is not alone in her situation.

Sad Fact of lost Disipline

We are a bit behind the shows here, and I hope someone reads this!

Here in the UK as well as over there in the US , disipline is now a joke.

Police, would rather turn a blind eye that deal with petty stuff, but the petty stuff, leads to kids pushing the boundries to beyond breaking point.

Anna should push the whole way! as the message if she does not, will be " Its Ok, there will be a heap of mess for a while but nothing will happen!" and that opinion will spread to others who will give it a try. Sad for the young man, but if his ruined life saves adults and teachers from similar fate I have to say it must be for the greater good.

I entertain 3-6 year olds and the behavour that is aceptable to the parents when they are there and present is mind boggling, I have been kicked, or punched! ( not often thank goodness) and the parents hardly ever react. Now if this behavour is acceptable  with parents present, what signal are they giving to the kids. I have seen and heard of groups of kids say " you cant touch me or I will get the police on you!" They have the knoloedge that the "do gooders" have created a protective situation of fear for adults, and disipline is slipping away.  The attitude of young teens must be that not much happens if anything, you will get a causion and not much else so why not give it a go!

My kids got a clip and more, just like I did and my kids are upstanding, polite and rounded individuals, I received more than a few slaps, even the cane, and concider no harm came of it.

My daughter is a Deputy Manager of a Nursery School, she has been told that she should not cuddle or comfort a crying child, combing their hair may concidered abuse, and you can't sing Baa, baa black sheep as its racist!

Dr Phill says "Past behavour is an indicator of future behavour" So true, thats means the little terrors of today will becoume the local terrorists of tommorow without fear of the law they will cause whole areas to become no go areas.

Thanks for reading this, and Dr Phil... You are OK ! pity we are so far behind here, for topical comment.

Outside or Inside?

With regard to the situation that Deputy Principal, Anna, found herself in, I think that one of the points that seems to have been missed is that she did not take this "outside" the school siutation, the children did.

It was suggested that it should be dealt with "inside the school situation" and not handled in the courts or "outside the school situation".  However, MySpace is outside the school situation and the childred choose to perpetuate their "practical joke" outside the school.  Had they created this in an environment that was limited to the school - an internal school website, a school newspaper, etc, I think it could have been handled internally.  However, they choose to place this in a completely public space and make it available to anyone with a computer and an internet connection; they choose a public place, outside the school and thus I can't see how it can be handled inside the school.

Nothing that can be done inside the school could erase the hurt, humiliation and suffering Anna had to endure and, I hope a jury, will realise this and compensate her accordingly.  Hopefully, the parents will have the sense to pass on that penalty to their children and make them "work it off" somehow, not just winge and whine when held responsible for their children's actions.

Bravo, Anna, you're doing the right thing - even children (and their parents) have to take responsibility for the hurt they cause.

how can they do this?

I think that in the time we live in then ppl should stop behaving like this... Whatever ppl did in their past doesnt matter!! All that matters is that they made up for it.. Not for others but for herself... I live in a country where we dont believe much in god. But I still respect others believe! How can they call them self true believers when they cant support this teacher?

I had bible class and remember something about not blaiming others for their mistake but to take them under the wings and help them... I really do not see this happening here. I send both teachers the best luck in the world! And we will think about you! I hope there will be a followup for these 2 teachers so we can see how things went for them?!

Best of luck from beck kristensen family from Denmark

12/06 Teacher Troubles

I think that it is a disgusting notion that a teacher, who has by all means proved herself in this profession, is punished for mistakes she has made in the past. If a teacher is ridiculed for their past, it sends the message to all impressionable children that you can not move on from your mistakes, and basically that no matter how hard you may try to redeem your actions and move on in life, prior mistakes will not allow you to do so.

In regards to the second story on this show, I think that Anna Draker is completely over reacting when it comes to the myspace prank. Yes, it was an immature prank, however it is not a prank that warrants children and their parents being dragged through the court system. To say that she will never feel safe again is a ridiculous statement and I believe that this woman is purely out for revenge for the defamation and humiliation that she suffered. This woman needs to wake up to herself and stop dramatising the issue.

What Hypocracy!!

I really feel so sorry for Tericka, who has only tried to move on in a life from a time where she was just trying to survive and get by.  As a society we expect teachers to be "sin" free and to have led a life of no mistakes or misfortune.  However, also as a society we condone pornography and prostitution.  Before someone pikes up and says oh no we don't.  Ask yourself why is it rife on the internet.  Why would it be ok for Michael (the teacher against her) to watch pornography (as I am sure he has now viewed her past videos) but it is not ok for her to have appeared in any of these videos.  I am sure there of plenty of male teachers who have viewed pornography in their past or presently as teachers.  Shouldn't they then be stopped from teaching because they cannot possibly be good role models for children as they are supporting this industry and exploitation of people.  Lets face it pornography is mainly their for the pleasure of men and it exploits and demeans women.  So any women who has been exploited by this industry should then again pay for their entire life and be relegated to the periphery of society, making them once again vulnerable to exploitation.

Maybe if we lived in a society where pornography was banned and not allowed to be hired, bought or viewed on the internet then these people condemning and judging Tericka would have some basis to make the decision to stop her from teaching.  However, the reality is we don't live in such a society.  Perhaps the people who feel so strongly should fight the real fight and look at the bigger picture before taking joy in ruining a woman's life (not to mention her children - or don't they matter).  I am sure that many Islamic countries ban pornography and although it probably makes its way in to their societies, they would have more grounds to specify that their teachers could never have made a mistake to appear in pornography.

The people who condemn Tericka are cowards.  Why don't you try to solve the bigger problem in society not look for a scapegoat.

As for the bible belt.  I am disgusted by religious reasoning for judging others.  Perhaps these religious people should read the bible properly and not be so quick to judge and condemn.

I am replying late to this chat room as I only just saw this show in Australia, where we have hypocrites too.

My 2c

To be honest, we are all missing the issue here. The lady with the porn history, she had to walk a road to get there. She knows the road, she knows what led her to it, be it a man, be it peers, be it her own rebelious impulses to take that first drink. She has a TON of experience in how to get there and to get past it. I would rather have my future children be taught by someone not just with a checkered past, but a damned black one. In my life, all my most influential teachers were the ones who screwed up big time and could teach us not to make the same mistakes along with the daily dose of maths, science and goegraphy. I am currently a student at university and I am surrounded by drugs, alcahol and all matter of things that are to be taken seriously, but is not. I can name several of my peers who on a daily basis consumes some kind of drug. I dont, because I am strong enough not to and also smart enough not to. The only way I managed that was because of my past teachers who were able to bring the message home that that would be a mistake. So, stop moaning that she made a lot of mistakes (because to get there she made lots of mistakes), but be happy that she did and that she can teach your children what to look out for and not fall in those traps.

Teachers in the sex Industry

In Las Vegas  a large number of teachers work as strippers on the weekends in order to be able to pay rent.  Teachers  do not get paid enough and we don't have enough people willing to be good teachers.  If she is a good teacher and the only negative in her career is porn she has done years ago, then it does not make sense to fire her.  People expect way too much from teachers.  We are not even allowed to have MYSpace pages at my district.  It should not matter if a teacher does a video on a day off to get her or his bills paid.

12/06 Teacher Troubles

Quote From: unorthodox

The assistant principal is teaching those "children" and their neglectful parents that some things have severe consequences.  She is teaching them that their own fun does not override the rights of others to maintain their privacy and reputation within the community.  She is teaching them that there are times when a "sincere apology" is not enough.  The message she is sending to the kids in her school is that a crime is a crime is a crime.  Punishment by the courts has a twofold purpose, first, to punish the guilty party, and second, to deter others from pursuing such a course of action.  If the parents are made to pay for their lack of attention and moral guidance, so be it.  Maybe that will make other parents wake up.  If the "children" are made to pay for a lengthy period of time, maybe that will also encourage parents to remind their children of the terrible consequences of such despicable acts.  What nobody has mentioned is that after a prolonged period of good behavior, the felons will be able to apply for, and probably get clemency and an expunged record.  It should not be easy, and it should be expensive.  Let's stop mollycoddling young people who are perfectly capable of not only destroying the lives of others, but who also add the majority of deaths on the highway due to their irresponsibility.  In that case, their poor victims often pay an eternal price.  As for the principal getting financial reparation for the damage to her reputation, I hope she gets mega punitive damages.  It seems that only drastic action and consequences will ever convince some people that they must finally shoulder the burden of making their children adhere to acceptable codes of conduct.
Should kids not learn about forgiveness? She went to far with her so called authority. The boys were sorry and regreated what they did. I guess you are saying that Sorry is not enough in this case and I could not disagree with you more!
