Kids across the country are playing pranks and harassing teachers. Tericka, a high school science teacher who loved her job, lived in fear of her scandalous past catching up with her and getting her fired. Students eventually found out about her shocking past and the news spread throughout town like wildfire. Are other teachers taking her side, or do they feel her punishment was justified? How can she move forward? Then, Anna, an assistant principal, was harassed on the Internet when two students created a fake MySpace page alleging to be her. She says they completely attacked her character and need to be held accountable for their actions. Was this just a practical joke gone bad, or were these students out for revenge? Find out what Anna did to show these kids that some jokes just aren't funny. Could the mischief your kids get into end up costing you thousands of dollars? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

School is Not Safe for Anyone

It has been my experience that school is not a safe place for anyone, teacher or student. And values in the classroom? What values? A place where bullying students is prevalent and tolerated and nothing is done, where students throw desks across the room is the kind of values I picked up on.

I can't help but wonder if the principal on the show would be willing to protect a student the way she protects herself. Teachers complain about how bad they have it but when was the last time a teacher ever went out of their way to protect a student? I've witnessed teachers call students names and act just as bad as the students. Where is the accountability there?

What about forgiveness?

These “Bible Belt” folks need to READ their Bible.  God doesn’t punish us for our past, so what right do these people have to punish this teacher for a mistake she made in her past?  God forgives, and teaches us that if we do not forgive others, we will also not be forgiven.  This teacher should only be accountable for her behavior during her tenure as a teacher.  This is a perfect opportunity to teach kids about the damaging effects of being judgmental and unforgiving.  If these people are going to hold her past against her, then they too should be accountable for any and everything they have done in their past.  I’d be willing to bet these same men who are pointing their self-righteous fingers have viewed pornography in one form or another, and should also be accountable for their behavior if they are going to hold such rigid standards for others.

Why not have her teach these kids?

I come from a small town and growing up one of my high school teachers was a dancer in her younger days. Noone had a problem with it and all of us kids knew about her past. She recently came up on retirement and retired. I can honestly say that I'm a better person knowing of her past and her being able to teach me. Like Dr. Phil said we always preach about if you make a mistake pick yourself back up and better yourself. That is what she did and I would be glad to have her teach my kids. She can relate to those kids that are in a trouble stage and if someone does step in then they are going to fall into a life of drug abuse, sex, or even crimes. We always bring in people to speak that have overcome things like drug abuse, sexual activities or crimes. We always praise them and make sure that the kids listen. A one time speaker can't get into the heads of these kids and convince them to change their ways. She would be there fulltime showing these kids that they need to change their ways now before they end up in a life that they don't want. I would love to see her get back into the field and help these kids. I myself just graduated from college with my Bachelors in Education, and I would be proud to have her work with me!

12/06 Teacher Troubles

I am a student in middle childhood education currently, and I strongly believe that Terika should be allowed to teach. I have several thoughts about it but mainly everyone has done bad things in their pasts and that is a fact of life. I guess I am saying that noone is without sin. It seems as though these people just want to condemn her and throw stones so to speak. In my opinion she has made a turn around. She does relate to these children and could be a wonderful tool in showing that there is nothing good about an adult entertainment career! Life happens and it is better to know that than believe the world is perfect. Terika seems like a strong person who has learned many life lessons!

teacher with past

I have just watched the show with the teacher. I have a couple of points. 1. She made an error in judgement when younger trying to support her family.  She should be getting praised for turning her live around. In fact I would have my 17 year old daughter be taught by her, because she can guide the students what not to do, and to be a roll model on how to make yourself better.  That is what we should be teaching.  2. Hmmm lets think where did the students get the tape, maybe from the parents home. Where are the parents they are the ones who need to be held responsible also. If it is so wrong then it should not be in there home.

She didn't do anything illegal. Oh and before you all start throwing stones and casting judgement on other people, look in your own closet.  Everyone has something there.

I support the teacher and wish her well.

The Problem with schools nowadays

Oh no.  Let's not punish those poor widdle teenagers.  Their brains aren't finished growing yet.  They didn't know any better.  Yeah, take that one out on the lawn and you could fertilize 100 acres.  People like Dr. Phil don't give teenagers enough credit, nor do they make them accountable.  Those teenagers deserve to be felons.  That was a CRIME!!!  She deserves to sue the lacksadaisical parents as well.  God bless that poor lady for finally standing up to the little tyrants that rule the halls in school because teachers are unable to lift a finger to defend themselves.  We've made teachers completely powerless in the hopes that the parents will be....well, parents!  I got bad news for you folks living in dreamland.  Parents want to be best friends and buddies these days; they don't want to be parents.  In a perfect world, these teens would have been raised right before they had the foolishness to do such a stunt.  In this world, the only alternative teachers have LEFT are the court systems.  What good does it do to send a student home for a week to play video games?  Duh.  You dropped the ball on this one, Phil!  I say SUE THEIR PANTS OFF!  They'll NEVER do it again!

From The School

I was a Student at the school That Tericka tought at.  and my thoughts are that...she did something in her past...big deal.  We all have things in our past that we live to regret.  I believe that people need to get over hers.  She was an amazing teacher and Big Red Pride Leader.   And for the first time in a long time She tought the school to actually have pride in what we have.  She was an amazing science teacher and made classes fun.  i think she should be allowed to return to school being that she is one of the best teachers that we ever had.

Would Dr. Phil be so forgiving

My question is for Dr. Phil.  Would he be so forgiving if the my space was made about his wife.....I don't think so!  There should be accountability for everyone.  These were not 3rd graders.  I am sure that the parents are upset and I don't believe that they can watch them 24/7, but a 3 day suspension doesn't cut it.  What these boys did to this teacher is frightning.  This went past a little joke.  I don't think that he should be labled a felon, but I agree with sueing them to make them wake up.  Money is a motivator for everyone!

Wow, Wouldn't Want to be her kid!

I hope this lady never has children of her own! Because they can hurt ten times worse than these two boys have! Also I would be afraid to come and apologize to her - she's already sued them and taken both of the boys to criminal court - come on - Dr. Phil is right - make them clean the whole school for next ten years or whatever but to make them felons and to completely ruin their lives from the get-go I just don't think she is being fair or that the punishment is going to fit the crime.

Teacher's Punushment

First of all I have to ask what happened to the student?!? Was he not punished for bringing a pornographic video to school? And where are the parents in all of this?  I know this is about the teacher and all but that was her past not now. I could see if she was still demonstrating these behaviors but that was then and this is now. She was a single mother and made a few mistakes in her life. Whether they were big or small we have all made them so why should she be any different.

For the people who say that she should not be allowed to return to her teaching career, all I have to say is I don't understand why. All over the United States we have herd on the news about teachers who have abused, sexually and physically, other children, rapist who have been put back into the community, and sex offenders who were released back into the community. Why were they given a second chance and not her? At least she DID NOT hurt the children. We are wasting all these tax dollars on hiring substitute teachers to take place of teachers in situations like this who has a rough past and are not hurting our children, while you are letting the people who are hurting our children back into the community. I don't understand.

I would, however, understand if this is a church affiliated school. I know this is a very church tight community but when it comes to schools there is a separation between church and state unless other wise held private such as a Catholic school or Jewish school, etc. Even if this was a church related school, this should not ruin her career to be a teacher at another school and those who disagree with her being hired should not interfere. Again to me she had a rough past, as most of us have, and is trying to move on with her life and make it better. I personally commend her for that. EVERYONE has made mistakes in their lives, EVERYONE! There is not one single person out there that can tell me otherwise, it may not have been to this degree but you've made them. She is not hurting the children, and this has not effected her career other than people trying to ruin it now. In fact no one knew about this tape until the punk kid had the audacity to bring in on campus!
