Kids across the country are playing pranks and harassing teachers. Tericka, a high school science teacher who loved her job, lived in fear of her scandalous past catching up with her and getting her fired. Students eventually found out about her shocking past and the news spread throughout town like wildfire. Are other teachers taking her side, or do they feel her punishment was justified? How can she move forward? Then, Anna, an assistant principal, was harassed on the Internet when two students created a fake MySpace page alleging to be her. She says they completely attacked her character and need to be held accountable for their actions. Was this just a practical joke gone bad, or were these students out for revenge? Find out what Anna did to show these kids that some jokes just aren't funny. Could the mischief your kids get into end up costing you thousands of dollars? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

Teachers Past

I think its sad there Judging her on her past. So she was a porn star. Did them people walk in her shoes to know what she was going throw what happen or was happening in her life. They should look at there self it says  in the Bible  not to Judge one an they surely are influnencing there kids to judge a person for something they did or who they are.

I have a Friend whom was a stripper she had prob getting job  no where to go with 2 kids abusive boyfriend whom now is in jail.  An she is very very beautiful could have any guy an be model. I  didnt meet her till after she stripped i never judged her 1 min. I told her it was nothing I could or would do.  Today She is going through a divorce an becoming a emt an a great mother. Her kids do not talk back an listen  respecting there elders.

For this teacher even if she did it children shouldnt know her personal life  do these other teachers an parents have nothing better to do. Must be a small hick town.  An like this Guy said on the show why are these parents letting there kids watching porn.. I wouldnt care if my childs teacher use to be a porn star as long as they got my kid a good education an into there mind for them to learn. An as long as she or he wasnt 1 of the ones sleeping with them look the ones  that sleep with them an marry the students.  It also seems the teachers in the schools are teaching all the kids to judge in a type predjutice . I cant stand no type of  predjutice. My mom always taught me  Never judge anyone  i mean anyone till you walk in there shoes cause you never know what they want through.

12/06 Teacher Troubles

Let me begin by addressing the teachers on today's show.  I must say that any of your rooms would be the last place I would ever find any child of mine.  Your attitude toward Tericka's past teaches our children nothing but a hypocritical, judgmental view of society and most horribly of all, PREJUDICE.  To the Kindergarten teacher - you said that teachers are the role models for children. So let me suppose, as an Education major myself, that I will learn somewhere along the lines of my studies that I am to teach cynicism, persecution, favoritism and as in your case, hypocrasy? Teachers like you should be the ones without the job, and I guarantee lady, that if someone went digging around in your past you'd rather die than someone, especially a school official, were to find you out.  You three think so highly of yourselves, where you look like the biggest egotistical fools in the education system. In fact, I am ashamed to share the same title as you once I graduate. It's almost as if I were becoming a member of the Nazis in 1940's Germany - I'm just praying the school district I become a part of only has one member of the self-centered, perfect, upstanding faculty you represent.  Your district should be embarassed to consider you a leader of the youth.

This world has become so hateful, so corrupt, that it's scary to send our children to school everyday, but I would be honored to send my child around a woman who took the liberty to change her life and devote it to the future of America. That is our Constitutional right in this country, and the staff at her school are in violation of code of exactly what the U.S.A. stands for.  I hope she sues, and if she does, I will pray every night that she wins.  God Bless You Tericka, and I wish you the best in your life.  Be strong, you can get through this. Thank you for becoming a teacher and pledging your life to sons like mine.

Concerning Tericka

The one thing it seems to me that has been put aside is this:  we all do what we have to do to survive.  And when your homeless, no money, no food, people do things without thinking them through to the consequences down the road.  Dr. Phil's son once dressed  up  in Dr. Phil's pants aged himself, made himself look dirty and people treated him differently. Unfortunately when your down and out people do not want to have you around, they stand in judgement of you.  In a lot of cases their judgements can be wrong.

So who are we to judge another person for what they did years and years ago.  Tericka has changed her life around, saw to it she got her education, became a teacher.  Now who are we to pass judgement on her for pulling herself up by the boots traps if she had boot straps and become better, and in a better place.  I for one wish her luck, happiness, and her teaching job back.  Being a mother myself I would feel comfortable with her teaching my son.  Never kick a person when they are down!  Sharon

Teacher Troubles

I think that Tericka shouldn't have lost her job. She is a positive role model for what you can do to better life when you make poor decisions. Until you have lived someone else's life then you can't truly know what prompted her to do what she did unless you are in her shoes.

As for the prinicpal, I wouldn't want my kids in her school. She is hell bent on ruining some kids lives for a stupid mistake. Yes it was wrong, gravely wrong but not worth a felony conviction. If these kids were constantly in trouble with the law I could see pursuing it to court but if they are just good kids who made a bad decision then it is wrong.

If the laws would let the schools discipline like they should be able to then kids would think twice before doing stuff like this to teachers and to other students. I agree teachers need to be protected to against violence and things like this incident but to ruin a child's life for a myspace deal? Come on!!

You without Sin Cast the First Stone

First of all, I commend Tericka for coming on National Television and acknowledging her past.  Tericka it took Courage to appear on Dr. Phil.

Our society wants people to turn their life around, but only if done a certain way.  Her crime, her passion in life pulled from under her.  It teaches children to keep mistakes to themselves. If you  make a mistake then people better not find out because your life will be hell.

Tericka, if you read this know that God loves you.  He is the only approval you need.  Easier said than felt.  The people who say they aren't "judging you" will reap what they sow.

Jesus came to forgive and give grace.  He had the opportunity to cast a stone at Mary M because she commited adultery.  What he said gives the past mistakes hope and love.  " You without sin cast the first stone."  They all walked away.  Jesus the only one without sin, did not cast the stone.  He said "Go and sin no more"

Well you may say  she did it twice.  God did not make us perfect. He made us in love and grace.
When you know better, you do better.

Tericka, God knows your pain. You have greatness in your future.  He rewards faith.  Bless you.

I disagree

I do not think she should have been fried. who cares what she did before she became a teacher as long as it wasn't against the law.  The guest on the show keep saying that she  is a roll model.  I am sorry i did not look at my teachers as roll models.  I looked at my family.  And if people think it is so wrong about what she did then before people sign up in school to take class on being a teacher the should check there past before letting them pay all that money into the education.  It just makes me mad on how people are putting her down.  If the kids are learning and have good grades what is the problem.

teachers are real people and identity theft is real crime WHAT IF?

As a former teacher, I can speak on this with total understanding of subject matter in today's show. Students viewed me as mommy, nurse, furniture, doormat, fool, clown, TV/movie screen and not human/not real. I think they thought I went to sleep under the desk when school was over and stayed there at school. I taught high school and junior college and had students who felt such a sense of entitlement to good grade without actually doing the work or demonstrating good manners and behavior. They would be very upset if disciplined for breaking a school, classroom or campus rule and thought I was horrible to enforce it upon them. How dare I? They would go so far as to mough off and play tricks on me. They even moved my car. They got suspended for that and wrote an apology to me but I could have pressed charges for vehicle theft. I did not like school and homework very much, I don't know anyone who loved school, but we did not take it out on the teacher like kids do today.I saw myself as a firm teacher who was down to earth and had some genuinely good students who actually got something out of my classes. I wasn't mean spirited nor did I overwork students with a boatload of work and did not deserve any of the out of line behavior towards me. There is not a place within school for discipline of students for crimes or harrassment upon the teacher. There is nowhere to turn except to get legal. Getting legal more often may curb behavior when students think about stiffer penalties for their behavior.

That MYspace page was not just confined within the school or within the state - it was worldwide exposure to who knows what? Punishment should not be within school or state even, it should be on the national level.

WHAT IF something horrible actually happened to that teacher because of those student's actions? What if someone saw the explicit page, stalked and killed this poor woman or worse her family got hurt? A husband would be without a wife and children without a mother just because a student did not want to be in detention? Those students are LUCKY to get off with just a felony conviction. They should feel very lucky that they aren't in jail for contributing to the death of that teacher.

Lastly, I am going to go so far as to make a prediciton about students. Tigers don't change their spots and the apple does not fall far from the tree applies here. These students adn students like them will not stop this behavior until they encounter a stiff penalty. Bad parents DO NOT KNOW that they are bad parents. The students did this because they did not conceive of the big picture and the fact that, the teacher was a real live human being with feelings and a job and a family.  The parents are certain kind of parent that raises a certain kind of child - A JERK. There are plenty of adult JERKS who were jerks as kids. They are unaware of the consequences in life. Not being raised with consequences to actions life just becomes a free for all and a free pass to treat others carelessly. They in return have more kids who are jerks unless the cycle is broken. It may sound as if I am being funny or rude but think about it.You can even insert your own word of choice besides "JERK". JERKs never seem to turn around, they just produce more jerk offspring.  I don't think Dr. Phil should have even brought up the consequences of the felony charges on the student to the teacher.  Why should she care if the student does not get to vote and charges stay on his record? He did not care that he was putting her and her family in danger or humiliating her for some lame reason.

The student's mother wrote that he was a "good boy". Well in my book, the good boy does not create such a page on myspace about an adult with such malice just for kicks. I think she has the wrong definition of "good boy" and that is the whole problem.

I don't feel bad for those student's confusion about the seriousness of their actions at all. I do not feel bad for them AT ALL. I feel for and suppot that teacher.

12/06 Teacher Troubles

Well I think until the water clears for the first teacher she is better off stepping aside(just to prevent distacting the students). I don't think she should lose her job for something she did a long time ago. People do change and she has never given her school any other reason not to trust her so cut her some slack people. As for the asst. principal, I think those involved should be held accountable but having them covicted as a felon is beyond reasonable.  She should want better for those children and hope that they grow up as better people. Convicting them as felon is no better than what they did to her. They were very very wrong but non of what they said was true about her and in a few years time it will have all been forgotten. So make them do community service and move on.

This is too much!

I can't believe that she is being judged by her past. What example is that setting for our children?Once you mess up thats it you will be judged for that and not how you bettered yourself now. Why would our children even try once they messed up? This is not sending the right message to our children. Our children should know there are people out there who made poor decisions but were strong and changed and that it is possible.

Forgiveness

Everybody deserves a second chance. A good freind told me one time "I don't care and don't make judgements based on what you did, I make them based on how you recover from what you did". I know sometimes its hard to forgive, I think its important to understand that not only is forgiveness something you mostly do for your self ,but how can you expect forgiveness from God if you can't give forgiveness. If you can't forgive others God will not forgive you, you have to convince yourself of this fact or you will never be able to really move forward.
