Give Away Chances for internet viewers

I just clicked on the giveaway link and there is a catch.  They are giving aay one item at four different times during the day today.  So you have to be glued (almost) to your computer at those different times AND only one item is being given away in each time slot.  While I applaud Dr. Phil and Robin's generousity to those who were needy in their audience, I also understand the sentiments expressed here.  That was alot of things to give each individual person and to now only give one to your loyal TV and internet audience is almost a slap in the face to those who are loyal to the show.  I do intend to enter for a chance to win (if I remember the times) and my intention, if given all or even some of the items, was to donate some to members of my church who are in need or actually to my church since this is CHRIST'S birthday and NOT ours.  I was also going to give anything else to my children and grandchildren.  My husband and I are fortunate and blessed to have a very good income but Christmas is still a struggle.  I guess because I give to my family all year long and celebrate the Christmas spirit all year long that at Christmas, I would like to give a little more.  But just wanted to inform all of you who have not clicked on the  link yet.

I just wanted to say that I'm happy for the audience, but what about us here at home?  Yeah, I sound greedy, but I saw the computer the audience was given and I thought of how my mom is forced to use a computer that doesn't even connect to the internet; her's would be great for gaming if that's what she cared to do.  I also saw the Wii, my brother would love that; he loves video games.

I'm complaining and I know it, but that's just what I thought of when I saw the show.  I truly am Happy for Dr. Phil's audience, I'm glad he's able to give as much as he does.  He and Robin make families happy at a time of year when most just worry.

Please, I don't want you to think your questioning "what about us here at home?" is wrong, but it's just a little sad that some peopleassociate Christmas with gift receipts.  Christmas is about that long lost realitive unexpectedly showing up at your door covered in snow, or the warm hot chocolate and that hot Christmas dinner your grandma, who doesn't really know you that well anymore, can still put together despite the fact. Gifts are blessings, and have many forms. They could be disguised as a newborn baby, an answered  prayer, or even a situation at work when you've made a mistake you're sure you'd get fired for, but for some reason the computers went down the day your mistake was to be found and it ends up lost in cyberspace...

My point is that Christmas isn't a time to receive, but a time to give.  Most of those guests in the audience were crying which indicated that Dr. Phil blessed them with generosity, kindness and a surprise that they will never forget, even into their last years.  I realize that we all sometimes want what others have, and that's ok. But when we sacrifice our own desires for the needs of others, true altruism, we're already blessed. In one way or another, your mom will get that new computer and your brother might end up getting something better than a Wii - I hope they do.  Please have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  It sounds like you deserve it.

12/11 Dr. Phil and Robin’s Christmas Show!

Quote From: lenorabeltz

Dr Phil and Robin,

As I watched your show I wept ,being I am out of work for almost 2 years I could not get the jest of how those audience members had been invited and a person who has always worked and so enjoyed buying for my family in the past has come to this point in her life what lottery did you hold to get on that show? 2 years out of work due to a back injury 2 surgery's. 3 children 2 little grandchildren no extra money last year nor this year ,and depressed is all I found under my tree. How does one get invited for that show? You had such beautiful things and my family would of loved and appreciated all that stuff.I saw no sign of down and out on your show today.Let those people walk in my shoes for a few days and live off of Workman's compensation which is a joke enough to pay the bills.no extra But then again I couldn't afford fair to get to your show .But anyway Merry Christmas to all.Right

You are so busy feeling sorry for yourself you'd probably miss it if Santa slid down your chimney.

Look, no question you've had it tough the last two years, and I'm sorry for that.  Plus I know when you don't feel well or have pain it can be very hard to keep a positive attitude.  But let me share a thought with you - what you put out into the world is generally what you get back from it.  Attitude is everything.  At this point your depression may be keeping you from maintaining any kind of a positive attitude so please consider asking your doctor for an antidepressant, okay?  No need to go around being this miserable all the time.

You said you saw "no sign of down and out" on the show, well, I sure did.  Those people were dressed their best, and maybe even with some borrowed wardrobe from Dr. Phil's show.  But if you looked at their teeth when they smiled or saw the severe lines of stress on some of their faces the nice clothes didn't fool me.  And shame on you for judging them.  You have no idea what hardships some of them may be enduring.  All your post does is show your bitterness and that you have lost sight of what Christmas is truly all about.  Did you read the post earlier from Penny about growing up poor but thankfully with the kind of parents who didn't let what they didn't have ruin the spirit of the holiday?  How are you possibly ruining the spirit of the holiday for YOUR family?  Do you think they enjoy being around someone so bitter and dejected?  You are the mother and grandmother - set the example, show them a new attitude.  Concentrate on the things you DO have, instead of the things you don't.  Nobody said this life was supposed to be easy.  But it can be easier when you adopt an attitude of gratitude.  Whether or not you have a merry Christmas is up to YOU, not your family, and certainly not Dr. Phil.  I sincerely hope you choose to give yourself this gift for Christmas.

what seems to be the problem with your mothers computer? could it possibly be all it needs is a modem? if so i can tell you a fast and really cheap way to fix it, go down to the salvation army in your city or town, normaly they have alot of computer towers for sale really cheap, most are about $20.00 or less, you can take the modem out of the one you buy and install it in hers, its really a easy thing to do, [;note;]  it wont fit but in the proper place you really cant go wrong, after putting the cover back on her computer tower, plug it back in and turn it on, after the system starts back up go to control panel open that and select install new hard ware, your wizard will start, then select search for new hard ware, it will locate the modem and ask you if you want to install ;[ select yes;]

about the gifts

I just finished watching your show with the giveaways for the audience members. It was so touching.  I cried like a baby when they gave away the Kitchenaide mixer. I have dreamed of having one of those since I was 14 and started taking Home-ec in school and learning to cook.  I am now 34 but I have had kids and life just gets in the way and I still dont have one.  Anyway I can imagine the joy that the ladies must have felt to be taking one of those home and I my heart was full for them.  I thought that was the best gift of all.  I just wanted to share with you that I think Dr. Phil and Robin are a blessing to all and they make me strive to be a better person.  Happy holidays

gine thanks

Dear people,

The best thing in the world is to see families happy at christmas and to remember the love.I have 6 kids and we don't have the money to do barelyany shopping but we are doing with what we have and the best thing youcould give or recieve is LOVE!!! Remember that.My suggestion is go help another just like we are going to volenteer instead of dwelling on what we don't have, and Go to church. We have life and love what more can you ask for.

Sincerely, my gift to you all is merry CHRISTMAS and lots of love to your families,

Thanks toys for tots   We will be needing you this year

Be Thankful

This is my first time ever posting on a message board but I feel the need. After reading just a few messages I cant help but wonder how some cannot just be grateful that  there are people like Dr.Phil and Robin.Im sure even they wish they could help more people.I understand that we all run into difficult situations but remember when you think you have it bad there is always someone out there that has it worse.I have been working for 2 months just trying to get a signed picture or something for a six year old boy who has cancer. He is a big Pittsburgh steeler fan.His tumor is growing even though they have started very aggresive treatment it dont look good .What makes this story even worse is the short life this boy has lived has been rough both parents on drugs and alot of times they didnt even have food.About six months ago the grandparents took custody of him and his twin brother.Life was just looking up and then he got sick.So my whole point would be is gifts are nice and we all do what we can but my holiday would be great if I could just make this little boys wish come true
