12/11 Dr. Phil and Robin’s Christmas Show!

Dr Phil,

I watched the show today and loved it.  I think what you and Robin are doing is great.  I am confused on why only certain people get this special occasion.

I have 2 grandchildren that will not be getting anything for Christmas this year.  I am disable and my son got laid off from work 2 months ago and my daughter is confined to bed for a high risk pregnancy.  How can you give to all these people when these 2 children won't get anything they don't even have a tree.  There are lots of kids and grown-ups out there they don't get anything at all.  The parents work hard and don't make enough money to have Christmas for their children.  I know my kids don't qualify for any aid from this state so they do the best they can.

12/11 Dr. Phil and Robin’s Christmas Show!

Quote From: 031717

 Hey Dr. Phil,

Your gift giving is great and thoughtful but it is only to the studio audience.  What about your TV audience?  Why not pick some people from your message board and give to them as well.  Not everyone is able to make it to L.A. and get on your great show.  You have some very loyal TV watchers!

Just a suggestion.

Mary

Mary, that would be great for us viewers also...I had to admit I was envious of the audience and wished I was part of it... there were truly amazing gifts......... but it is more important in what Dr. Phil and his family are doing for Toys for Tots!

Mary , that is so right if it wasnt't for his loyal tv watchers, I wonder if he would have a show, I don't have the money to do anything I am on dissability I have 4 kids 9 granchildren  really never had  a good christmas, my oldest daughter  went back to get her nursing career well she became preganet  ( which she was fixed 5 years ago ) they told her she is gonna have twins She says mom , I can't get my kids what they want they know it that we can't afford it but you look back and watch all theses tv shows being so happy giving gifts away it hurts sometimes I don't want to watch them but I am a loyal Ellen Degerous Show, Oprah Show, and the DR Phil show watch them everyday  why can't the poor ever get anything I don't even know what a IPOD is I've heard of it and seen it but that is all... but I tell my kids God will not pick nothing on your shoulder that you can't handle... this sis how the poor lives.....

Christmas Show

I too feel it would be neat if Dr. Phil would find a way to include his TV Audience and perhaps those fans who post on the message boards when they do give-a-ways.  There are many, many ways to spread the wealth so to speak, and there are SOOOOOO many in need why limit it and give SO much to a studio audience?

I donated to Toys for Tots, and followed Dr. Phil and Robin's recent auction on EBAY where the proceeds from the race suits went to Toys for Tots.  I applaud Dr. Phil and Robin for spreading Christmas Cheer, and no I'm not jealous I have plenty to be thankful for, but like others it would be nice to see maybe some of the viewing audience get some of the "goodies."

I am also very slowly trying to regain my Christmas Cheer....I loved Christmas, the radio stations playing Christmas songs 24/7, the fact that people generally seem nicer around this time of year, but my Christmas cheer took a nosedive two years ago when my Dad died 2 days before Christmas, December 23, 2004.

It has been a long, tough road, especially for my mother who has to face their home alone, and though my sister and I try we can never make it the same, nor will it ever be the same.  Instead of looking forward to Christmas, there will always be that sadness and a feeling of loss.

So to everyone, appreciate what you have, appreciate your loved ones even more, because you never know *if* it will be your last Christmas together.  I only wish I could turn back the clock, I'd give anything for one last Christmas with my Dad.

choosing a blessing

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SHOW....watching the faces of the audience....Yeah..I wish I were there ,too...But..it's a LONG way to California,,,and time off work,,well,we all know what that means...and my family struggles so much, too...But,you gotta choose a blessing...My crazy life would make Dr. Sigmund jump behind a McDonald counter and start slinging fries...but even on my hardest days..I REACH for anthing positive..usually my 5 yr old granddaughter who knows NOTHING about bill collectors, health problems, car repairs, irrated bosses....she just gives the biggest hugs..and well..When you get down..choose a blessing, and surround yourself with positive surrounding...( and hope that Dr. Phil builds a studio next door.) LOVE YA.. Carol

A Kindred SpIrIt

Quote From: sue1124

i watched the show today...and was jealous of those  who were on the show.   so much has been lost this year especially when i lost my mom in august of this  year unexpectedly to cancer. this year i don't have the money to buy for anyone, very little for my 2 kids. i wish i didnt have to deal with xmas at all. too depressed to deal with all the holiday things. plus trying to help my father through this and wearing myself down . just wish it all would go away so i dont have to deal with xmas.      sue1124@sbcglobal.net
The tings we deal with in life can really come home to roost during the holidays.  I lost both of my parents this year and also can afford little.  It isn't easy, but I am going to try to go forward and celebrate the true meaning of the holidays and find peace, if not happiness, in knowing my loved ones are well.  I am not the preaching sort.  We have plenty of them here for that.  I just wanted you to know you are not alone.  Bless you.

 Hello Everyone,

Merry Christmas. i think what they are doing so so great. The down side to this is that there is so many in need that not every one can be helped. thats the sad fact with our country we have people that are starved, homeless ect and we are worried about everyone else. lets start helping us.

things happen in life that we can not control. please remember this. and give from your heart not only at christmas time but all year long. i love the show.

MARRY CHRISTMAS AND GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU

Gifts for Gulfport

As a Katrina survivor in Mississippi, I just wanted to say "thank you" for remembering and bringing gifts to some of our kids down this way. Without Toys for Tots, the Firemen from New York City, celebrities like you and Robin, and so many "folks", there would have been many, many children down here with very little for the holidays. The number of needy families has risen a hundred-fold since the storm, hard working people who are just squeaking by due to mortgages on slabs, rebuilding, repairing if you had anything left to repair, replacing everything you ever owned ... well, last year there were so many gift-less children! This year there are more gifts for more children! But don't forget about us down here, please! It will be years before we are back to anything remotely resembling "normal"!

There is help out there

Quote From: jt8025

I am a 26 year old parent of two wonderful children.  I have watched you're show every since you have been on TV.  I don't know what to do in the sense that I have just lost my job 2 weeks b4 Christmas and my kids are gonna have no Christmas presents on Christmas Day b/c i can't afford them.  I have to pay my bills and my bills are very expensive.  I went to the doctor about 2 weeks ago and he said i need a surgeory. I have no insurance no money, and my kids are gonna have no christmas.  I really wish that everything was different so my kids can have a Christmas, b/c it is very important to me.  I know the meaning of Christmas is about the birth of Jesus and they know it also, i have always made sure they know the true meaning of Christmas.  I am just really depressed about the whole situation, and don't know what to do.  Can you help me figure out what to do Dr. Phil?
Contact the Salvation Army or Toys for Tots in your area. Also call your local Chamber of Commerce. I am sure there is help out there to see to it your kids have a few gifts! Good luck!
