12/11 Dr. Phil and Robin’s Christmas Show!

Quote From: saved_by_grace

What Dr Phil and Robin did for their audience was unreal!  It would be wonderful if they could broaden the giveaway to include some of those in the home and computer audiences.
I don't think that would work very well...I just see this as Dr Phil's way of giving gifts to those he cares about...including his audience. He has to draw a line somewhere, and this seems to be a good one.

I agree w you

I don't know what it is. I am not depressed, but I don't get the big deal with Christmas.  I don't even want to see this show, I don't want a tree or anything.  I've heard other people who used to love Christmas like me say the same thing.  Anyone else out there going through this?  Sure, I can't really afford much anyway, but I've always really tried hard every Christmas to make a big deal out of it.  I wouldn't feel guilty about this new outlook I am having, except that I have a five year old son.  I don't want him to grow up thinking he's missing out on the fun.  Am I crazy?  I am glad Dr. Phil is using this show to help people and not just show off a bunch of expensive junk.  Although I am sure there will be lots of that too.  Anyone else out there with me?

I think its all the stress it brings that just seems useless.  It's just for one day, and after that its over-hope that helps?  Youre NOT crazy, believe me.    You could do like a smaller, more intimate Christmas, so that your son gets the experience, but on a smaller scale.  Or say that the elves are on strike this year, so Santa can't do as much...

Nice Xmas show.

Its been a hard 2 christmas's with me being sick surgeries and all. I try to think of all the people that are worse offt than us, and it helps a bit. Its very hard to get in the holiday spirit when your in pain and it hurts your children to see in you cry in pain, when surgery is coming up very soon..a serious and dangrous one at that and at 39 its hard to sink in.

The show was wonderful I even taped it for my husband to watch when he gets home...

Thanks for all the toys that were donated to toys for tots, so that some children have something to look forward to. Also thank you for being so generous to your audience members.

A very happy holiday to the Dr. Phil staff and family, and everyone else in the world having a hard time getting into the spirit.

true expression

This is the true meaning of Christmas.  Giving back to others should be at the forefront, not receiving and being selfish.  Hope this show teaches someone in this generation that getting things quickly and as much as you can for yourself is not what God is all about.  God desires prosperity for His people but not by stepping on others.  I love Dr. Phil and Robin and their family for this and I hope I am instilling in my children this same ideal.

12/11 Dr. Phil and Robin’s Christmas Show!

Quote From: rosebud_123

I totally agree! Its funny to go back and read message posts from a few days ago on how great Dr Phil is and how wonderful he is.... Then today its why can't we have presents too? why don't you include your at home viewers? Dr Phil is including the at home viewers by letting us register to win some of those prizes tomorrow. Christmas these days is all about who's getting what presents for and from who and no longer about Jesus and His amazing birth. Viewers on this message post are sounding like a bunch of greedy scrooges in my opinion!

Dr Phil and Robin if you do actually come on and read these... You all are doing a wonderful job and if you all decide not to include the at home viewers after reading some of these other posts I don't blame you a bit! Keep up the good work.

I'm not a scrooge, and I still believe in miracles, but sometimes when you look and their is nothing under the tree, it's a little depressing.  Especially for my kids.  They're very understanding, but I know how it feels to be disappointed too, when all your friends are getting cool stuff.

I'm glad all of those people got cool stuff, but I think it's human nature to say, why can't we be lucky like that.

Sign up tomorrow

Quote From: wildchild68

I agree, loyal watchers need christmas spirit too. Keep doing a great job, Dr. Phil and family. I love to watch you make people smile when you give them gifts.
You can sign up tomorrow on Dr. Phil's homepage for a chance to win gifts.  I know some people really have a hard time but there is no way Dr. Phil can help everyone. Some people said they have asked for help and haven't gotten an answer back.  Can you imagine how many people ask him for help.  I guess he just tries to help as many as he can.  No telling how many people he helps that no one ever hears about.   I think they said that Toys for Tots seat the audience because they knew the people that really needed the help.

Wonderful Show

Hi Robin & Dr. Phil...Congratulations on a wonderful show.  All last week, I thought about writing a letter to you because I have never been able to have a good Christmas for my kids or grandkids.  It has always been with very, very little money; but, they have never complained.  When I turned the show on today, my heart was filled with love to see all of those families who were in the same boat as me, to get all of those fabulous presents.  How fabulous of you to make sure that you had families in the audience who needed the gifts.

You both never cease to amaze me.  I have never heard what your religion is, but your love of God shows through brilliantly, every day.  Thank you very much and may God bless you and your family.

Carolyn
