when people who are in deed true christians to the ways of the lord jesus put a tree up it is not to worship it, its to brighten the room with all the pretrty lights in many differnt colors, such as the stars in heaven, to worship a tree is pagan, to decorate a tree is simply that[ decorating ] we know the tree is no god, as will all who worship trees will see very soon.

I mean if it was that bad she should have given hubby a wish list to choose from. How hard is that?

i've been married  11 years and have gotten spice-racks for several Christmases..maybe I should go on Dr. Phil and whine about it....nah... I respect and love hubby too much. Now I either buy my own (from him) or give him a little list to pick a few things from.

I mean really, it's not that hard

I agree. It is so unfair to expect a man to be a mind-reader. If you want something - tell the poor guy! So what if he doesn't understand your taste in clothes - surely YOU know what you like and what would look good on you. Point it out to the guy. Or register for Christmas gifts the way you might for wedding gifts. Then he just goes into the store and picks out something you've vetted as 'suitable'. Do you really think men WANT that much grief on Christmas? I'm pretty sure they're doing the best they can.

 

If you really doubt that - then tell the guy to get you a gift card. It might not be romantic but at least you'll be able to get something you want.

 

[My hubby takes me to my favourite electronic gadget store on the day after Christmas and says "Get whatever you want and take as long as you want to find it, discuss it with the salespeople and play with it." [Now there's a man who KNOWS what I like!]

We are all free to believe what we wish.  =)

 

Let me also say, that we do not believe the tree is a God, only a symbol of the God.

You have gotten the entire concept incorrectly.  We do not buy for some of the kids and not for others.  We buy presents for those children who are minors still living at home.  For the children who live away from home we trade names and include both me and their father in the name trade.  We are not buying for just some of the children.  Thank you for your input.  I do appreciate you being so quick to crucify someone.  Please give me your email so that next time I can save the time and money I spent going out to appear on the show and I can just contact you directly to get set in the "Right" direction.

Just to clear the record, My husband and I are both University Educated and our joint income is well over $100,000 per year.  We do not receive nor have we ever received any social benefits.  We are aware of birth control and we do have a TV. Three of our children are married with children of their own and very sucessful careers.  Three of the children are minors still living at home and the remaining two children are single and self supporting both with college or university degrees. We have paid for the education and support of all of the children the same as any other family.  None of the children have an addictions to drugs or alcohol nor have we had any unwanted pregnancies.  We own our home and brought the children up in it.

  I hope that the social agency that you work for appreciates the fact that you assume to have the answers without knowing the facts.

wow we give gifts to all the children, no matter whear they live, as for you spending money to go on dr phils show? wow not only do you lie to your self but you sit infront of a computer and dare lie to me as well, dr phil paid your way 100% if you were a guest on his show!! and val i wouldnt want you to contact me in any other way than  posting me back here on dr phil dot com, after all i know dr phil looks out for us all and will not let any one have personal info, and this way also keeps key loggers out of my computer, you see there are a lot of theives out there and as far as i know you could be one aswell, no i think you will just have to be happy with the mods here at dr phil dot com, i trust them to keep the topics clean and safe for every one,and fair !!! as far as getting set in the right direction? which way is up !!!!!?

 

you know effie i guess you could see a tree as a symbol of god, after thinking about it  and searching my heart i must say after all god did in deed create the heavens as well as the earth and everything on the earth is created by the hand of god,maybe you are just looking at what god created and using it to keep god in your heart, it is wring of me to call you names or make fun of how you see god, he comes to us all in different ways, and i do ask you with all my heart to forgive me for not wanting to allow you to see god in the light you see him in, for i know not your heart, but god does, and thank you for wishing me a new year, i would like to wish you a happy new year as well, and once again im sorry i was judgeing you as i havent that wright to do,hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me for that im really sorry,  and i know if i am afraid of your views it proves i have no faith in god my self, i guess in a way only god knows there was a lesson in talking to you he ment for me to learn, i think i have seen what was ment for me to see, i thank you for taking the time you took to talk to me, thanks and god bless you

Thank you for your apology, Afraid, I feel that it was sincere.  You really do have no reason to be afraid of my views.  Paganism is a nature based religion, nothing scary about that. =)

 

I think we may have more in common than we first thought.  And if I have ever said anything to offend you I apologize as well.

Afraid, I haven't noticed that you have called anyone names or made fun of anyone.  What I noticed was a strong woman of God standing up for her beliefs.  I was very happy to read your past post. Not only is it is courageous and heartfelt, it speaks for so many others.  Most of all you stood up for your belief in God without wavering.  Now, I am disappointed at reading this message.  If you feel that you have offended anyone it is good to apologize, but don't waver in your expression of your zeal for God.  Think these things over and learn the real lesson God has for you.
