I thought it might be interesting and insightful to have a place to ask the opinions and advice of the opposite sex. Sometimes in order to deal with a problem with the opposite sex, we need to understand how they think and why they think that way. I think we could all benefit from this topic. So let's start learning about each other.

Well, I already know it's not a shock collar! ;) So what is it?

Well lets see, I got him a very nice bracelet and keychain to go with the $$$ watch and ring I got him. The ring was for last xmas and the watch was for his bday which I still have also. I also got him a very nice pair of blue jeans and a layer shirt so that he is always stylish ;-) Also, 3 movies and a visor clip for the car and it has a special sentiment on which I wont go into detail on. I think that is it.

Maybe someday he will even see it.

Ask The Opposite Sex

OK, here are my questions for the opposite sex. 1) Why does it seem like such a turn-off to others just because I want to keep the whole business of finding someone as rational as possible? 2) Am I sending out some kind of vibe that screams "SOCIALLY INEPT GUY---AVOID AT ALL COSTS"? 3) Do women have some kind of fetish for seeing men dressed up? (I've tried this, and it makes me look like a Mafia don.) 4) Why do I seem to attract only the wrong types of women? And 5) this is only about halfway in the ballpark, but why do I occasionally get moon-eyed stares from gay men instead of straight women? There must be some visual cue that I've been sending out.

1.  I don't think it's a turn-off, I just think that people think that there are more traditional ways to find your soul-mate. But who cares what anyone else thinks? I say do what you gotta do to get what you want. I admire your creativity, and your ability to pursue what you want even if it means stepping out of the norm. It definitely beats just giving up, like so many others already have. You are bound and determined to get what you want no matter what anyone else says, and that is GREAT!!! It's only when you give up that you have no hope of getting what you want.

2.   I don't know you, so I couldn't tell you what kind of vibe you are sending out, but at least you are aware that it is a possibility and can examine yourself more closely in social situations to see if that might be the case.

3.   I might be weird, but I am not attracted to guys in suits and the flashy type. I like a man in blue jeans and t-shirt, and dirt under the fingernails doesn't bother me one little bit!

4.   I read something on the internet about that, has something to do with chemistry, very interesting article. Says you exude a certain chemistry, that certain women are attracted to. You should Google it, that's what I did, because I am (WAS) always attracted to the wrong type of guy.

5.   Couldn't answer that one! LOL!! Again, I would have to know you. Do you have any really good female friends that you could ask that and get an honest answer? Sometimes friends don't want to hurt your feelings, so they just tell you what you want to hear, but if there is someone really close to you, that knows you and your ways, maybe if you asked seriously enough they would give you an honest answer?

Also wanna thank-you for stopping by this board. I really think once we get more people here, it would be alot of help for both sexes, so just hang here a while and see what happens! Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas! If that's not what you celebrate then I hope you are just having a wonderful day in general! :)

Well... one thing I definitely learned about dating and rationality is, if Star Trek's Mr. Spock was a real guy, he'd absolutely SUCK at trying to meet women! :-P FWIW, I'm giving the gift of life this Christmas... it upset me so in years past to see all those trees going unsold in all the lots, this year I vowed to make a difference. I put some water in a pail, got out my bonsai trimmer, and visited a local lot, and the boss on duty was nice enough to let me take all the cuttings I wanted, for free, from their discarded trees. Got about 2 dozen good cuttings of Noble fir, so I figure at least one of these will have to make it to the rooting stage. Heh, everyone else will be getting their trees from lots, but I'll have my own growing right in the yard. BTW my nextdoor neighbor invited me to drop in on him anytime for a yuletide bash... however, I've been starting to hear raucous roars issuing from his house since about noon, and am afraid of getting sucked into another of his alcoholic celebrations with his brawny buddies... :-( What I need most this Christmas is a pretty, brown-eyed blonde woman in rose-red tights and a red and green skirt, whom I can hug... it wouldn't matter to me if she smokes or not, as long as she could enjoy this delicious ham I'm having for dinner.

Love Star Trek!!!! Got all of the original series on tape. Also tried my hand at Bonzai a couple of times. Just had too many other things going on. I think that's cool. I know what you mean about the "brawny" macho man type. I hate that crap. Like they gotta prove something. Can't help you with the brown-eyed beauty, but hope you have a great Christmas anyway.

BTW I bought the last 2 bags of mistletoe from the tree lot when I was there... with a little luck, maybe I can get it to grow, and finally get a kiss next Christmas.

What are some good gift ideas for you men out there?
1) a Kristy Swanson clone, 2) an airplane hangar for storing all my stuff, 3) an android who can clean up my garage while I'm at work, and 4) a car that doesn't stall. There now, that wasn't so hard, was it?

Finally found you all here..lol..

Quote From: skwirl

I am confused. Most men that I talk to say that they don't like their women to wear alot of make-up, they like the "natural" look. So why do most of the advertisements geared toward men, show sexy women with more make-up on than most women would ever wear in real life? The people that make the advertisements must have done research on what men like and what would work best to market their product, so why is it the opposite of what I hear most men say? Also most porn stars and models are thick with make-up, so if men find the more natural looking woman sexier, then why is this?

Well, I finally found ya...Anyway, trying to get caught up on all the interesting topics...First, the make-up thing...Well, I think that the reason why all the models, etc. wear so much make-up, T.V., magazines is of course selling the make-up...but, I feel make-up can enhance the features one already has...I think in order to sell it, they need to put it on a little heavier, because one doesn't see it as good on T.V. or magazines...As far as men are concern, on the subject of make-up..Yes, I've heard the same thing from men...That a little is nice, too much no...I think when men see women on T.V. and magazines, they are just seeing a hot 'woman', doesn't mean they want that 'hot' woman...just it's no different than a woman, seeing a say 'muscle' man on T.V. or one of those male models...where their all slick out, their clothes, their hair etc..and some even on T.V. wear make-up...One is just seeing pretty faces....and to us all, we like to see that..but, it doesn't mean it's reality, life...I think Tyra Banks is a pretty woman, but did anyone see her without make-up?  Well, she looks not so good and just ordinally...I have had in my lifetime, men say I look good in the morning (before putting my face on haha) now granted, they may of just been feeding my ego...but, IF I could look good enough as they say in the mornings...you know with the sleepy eyes thing, and they say I look good just like that...well, I think that shows they either are feeding me a line, OR there's some truth to it...which of course, makes me feel really good...I do believe, in doing whatever makes YOU feel BEST...not for a man though...sorry guys...but, for YOU!!  and some makeup is good, it brings out your eyes, smile, etc...and I would say I do spend time in the bathroom, but it's because I also have long hair...so, it takes forever to dry it...then, IF I curl it...and I don't think anything's wrong with that, IF you are doing it for YOU...and it makes you feel good, and then going off for your day..feeling good...To try and answer Skwirls question, (from a woman's point of view) and I know this is asking the opposite sex, but here's my final thoughts...For men, seeing those women on T.V., magazines is just looking at perhaps, a 'fantasy woman'..and same for us women, when we see the guys on T.V. doesn't necessarily mean, we'd like to be with someone like that...so, there's a difference between looking and wanting....   Dee
