I thought it might be interesting and insightful to have a place to ask the opinions and advice of the opposite sex. Sometimes in order to deal with a problem with the opposite sex, we need to understand how they think and why they think that way. I think we could all benefit from this topic. So let's start learning about each other.

Your so 'silly' Skwirl

Quote From: skwirl

What is it that attracts you to a man/woman and what is it that turns you off? First, I think I am attracted to a beautiful genuine smile. Second, the attitude, I like a confident man, with a zest for life, one that's not bitching all the time about how life has done them wrong. Everyone's gonna bitch a little, but  If you don't like what life has dealt you, then get off your ass and do something about it, don't just sit and whine about it ALL the time. Third, I can't stand a cocky man!!! I can't stand guys that feel like they have something to prove and their answer to everything, is "I'm gonna kick somebody's ass!". Also don't like men that have no sense of responsibility. I like a man that does what he says he's gonna do and takes care of business. Dependable, spontaneous, light hearted, caring, giving, loving, finds humor in life, sensitive..........................holy crap, now I don't know where to stop!  Oh yeah! A cute butt would be good to, but not particularly neccessary!

TURN OFFS:  I don't like a man that smokes...but, I wouldn't say I wouldn't date one, as long as he doesn't smoke around me..and IF in a more serious relationship, I think I'd like to see him stop..I don't like 'loud' mouths, someone that brags about how great he is or how successful or money he has...I don't like it, when he's not interested in what you have to say...I don't like a man, that gets forward...too fast...I don't like a man that drinks too much, and doesn't take care of his health/body..

TURN ONS:  I like a quiet man, but not too quiet...because, I like a sense of humor...I like a man, that likes to be spontaneous...like, while out shopping I like just out of the blue, playing those air hockey thing...I know, I know one day they were throw me out of the 'toy' department...lol...I like a man that likes nature, as I do...that out of the blue, hopping around the rocks around streams, and see who falls first in the water...OR climbing on those walls that they have sometimes, at playgrounds...I love rock climbing, even though I'm afraid of heights...I like for a man to like that too, and once your as far as you want to climb...you can just see such beautiful views...I have to have a man that enjoys camping, hiking, water sports...and I like a man, that can sit and watch a movie with me..(chick flick lol) and eaiting popcorn...and not worry he's going to get forward with me...I like a man that really is interested in what I have to say...I love seeing a man, in a baseball cap or football, etc..sporty type..I like a man that takes care of himself...his body and health...and last but not least a man that wears COLONGE (think I spelled that wrong) especially, if it's Ralph Lauren ..romance...gee, I hope he wouldn't wear that on a first date...lol...that is what really gets to me...lol             Dee

saying something funny but i think i will just keep it to myself for now. haha I know the suspense is gonna eat you up ;-)

My turn ons: A man who uses proper english and is able to carry on a quality conversation! Someone whom takes pride in the way he looks yet is no vain. A man with character and personality. Also one has nice hands (soft & clean around the nails) and a great smile.

Turn offs: Vain, arrogant, always on about me, me, me. Also a man who is loud and obnoxious especially when in public. One who has no desire to become a better person or ambition to become more. I also dont like a man who drinks too much or plays nintendo all weekend long!

Yesterday afternoon I went to see the cutest movie. The "Holiday" it was good...of course my type too cause it was a chic flick full of British accents lol. I would say that this is one of Carmeron Diaz's best movies in a while. Its up there with "In Her Shoes" of course I enjoyed Jude Law as well. Left me all mushy and warm-hearted.  *blushes*

Vlinder, that's not fair of you!!  Come on now, you can tell me...lol..what did I say that's so funny, this time..lol...yeah, the suspense is really killing me...what was it?  The 'cologne'???  The hopping on rocks, over the stream, seeing who falls in first?  playing Air Hockey, in the toy department section?  oh, I know..it's the getting kicked out part..lol

Yeah, I love the chick flicks too...did you see Bridget Jones Dairy 1 & 2?  I have them both, and I love them...all the English Accents...it's so funny..especially, when they use 'cuss' words in an accent..it's funny!  I don't really cuss or like cussing..but, it was funny to hear them...Hugh Grant, yeah he's kinda cute and funny too!  Did you see Hugh in 9  months?  That was funny!  and how about, with Sandra Bullocks..what's it called...2 wks. notice or something..that's cute...I like how she can act, 'dorky' like...and he's 'dorky' so they made a good match...Why did The 'Holiday' leave you mushy and warm-hearted...and 'blushes?"  now, I've got to go see it  lol......Dee

what attracts me...

Hey all. I have not been on for a while. I think what attracts me to a women is her warm heart ,and talking with her. I think it is important to get to know  women and to see her inside part of her. I think also her looks bring the two to talking, but the looks are not everything. It is the inside of her that makes it for me. Ok looks do to, but it is a package  thing. I am not the type to want just a sexual expereince. I want to whole deal. just some thoughts.

Its just a very warm-hearted movie. Its nice to see the characters in a light bubbly comfortable movie. The plot is all about love and how everyone wants it but find it when they least expect it. The scenarios seemed real and very un-movie like if that makes sense at all.

As for 2 weeks notice, yes I saw it and I loved it! The other ones I havent seen yet though. And yes the curse words can be a bit interesting from the brits, of course so can many of their other words. Im still learning the meanings for some of their words. I just learned the meaning of something yesterday as a matter of fact, i just dont remember the phrase I used though.....oh well.

Definitely with you on the looks thing. I was not attracted to my last husband not one bit. But when I THOUGHT I got to know him, I fell in love with him. It just sucked that the person I got to know was fake. But that's a chance you gotta take for love, huh?

What attracts one to another?

Well for me, I think it's just something you can't explain...I mean, it's not necessary that they have to be great looking...but, instead it's the look..I mean, the eyes...the smile...just that certain look..contact when you look at one another...there's just something there, unexplainable..then it's their pesonality, the way they carry themselves...I don't know if anyone else knows what I'm talking about...'that certain look in their face, their eyes, their smile'...and of course, the Ralph Lauren "romance" doesn't hurt also...lol....Dee

Hey, not many men on this site, where r they?

Would be nice to hear from  a man's point of view on things..Since, this is 'ask the opposite sex'..Like, whom they would consider 'hot' or 'sexy' or just whom they feel is pretty/cute/attractive, etc. etc..I have a question too...(ok maybe a few lol) Does men like 'belly' piercing?  Because,  me and my 17 1/2 yr. old daughter, just had one done..It was a FUN experience!  This is the only piercing (besides, the ear) that I and my daughter likes...I don't like tatoos...sometimes, I like to use those fake ones..just, for fun...Another question for men...Would you say your idea mate, would be someone that is career minded and/or is in a career and makes good money?  Because, I've never been into making my life about all that..I feel I'm into doing the best for me, and I like getting an education...and throughout my life, I will always want to better myself..I just hope that someone, would like me for 'me'...I like ppl that are educated etc., but do you think that a man, would/could fall in love with someone that isn't?  I don't say that they consider themselves not smart, but I heard that a few times..What a man likes..and I don't consider myself as being 'smart' for say..My once brother-in-law, (ex's brother) married an ambious woman...She was so much so, that he divorced her..it didn't work out..But, he always said, that's what he's looking for...Well, the next woman too was ambious..but, that didn't last either..Then, sorry to say 'he died'...(he died young) I feel he died not really feeling 'love'...But, perhaps that's just my thoughts..Once, I hear a man say he likes intellectually stimulating women, I freeze..I guess, I feel I'm not one of them..(although, ppl are saying differently..but, I guess I don't believe them..just feel they like me..so, they'll say I am)  anyway...I wish I didn't feel this way...but, I do..So, to you all feel differently on this subject?  thanks  Dee

I'm a man and have a point of view, lol

I consider my wife hot and sexy.  In a fake world like movie stars and such, I think a women like Catherine Zeta Jones is nice looking or at least my type.  I like a classy women, not a Britney Spears type, but a Diane Lane type or Susan Sarandon.  I'm 31, blonde hair, blue eyes, but like the more sophisticated women, someone that likes me.  I like belly piercing on the right person.  My wife also has one, lol  Tattoos, just depends on the area, on a women tattoos can look bad in certain places like arms.  My wife also has 4 tattoos and I have 5.   I love a women who can think and talk about deeper things, such as politics, religion, etc.  I love a sense of humor, because how can you not laugh in a relationship.

I like a working women and a woman that can defend her stance on anything she believes.  I like the natural look on a women, because something about make-up, makes me feel a women is hiding behind something.  I want to know she will look the same when I wake up next to her.  I feel that women hide behind the make-up, so much so that they cannot be seen without it.  I don't like insecurity, even just ok women can look good with confidence.  I don't care about money and it's a turn off when a women does.  If I had a first date and a women asked what I do and how much money I make, That would be a red flag for me.

I guess my biggest thing is the money.  I feel people can be happy without much and money causes many problems in relationships.  Superficial women turn me off.  Racists or Racists comments turn me off.  Oh and the , I'm a women you are a man and the whole " we have our roles" thing turns me off.  Things should always be equal.  So I hope this helps a bit.  I was summons off the Debating among different religious beliefs board to answer this question, lol
