I thought it might be interesting and insightful to have a place to ask the opinions and advice of the opposite sex. Sometimes in order to deal with a problem with the opposite sex, we need to understand how they think and why they think that way. I think we could all benefit from this topic. So let's start learning about each other.

Ask The Opposite Sex

Quote From: dee0123

Would be nice to hear from  a man's point of view on things..Since, this is 'ask the opposite sex'..Like, whom they would consider 'hot' or 'sexy' or just whom they feel is pretty/cute/attractive, etc. etc..I have a question too...(ok maybe a few lol) Does men like 'belly' piercing?  Because,  me and my 17 1/2 yr. old daughter, just had one done..It was a FUN experience!  This is the only piercing (besides, the ear) that I and my daughter likes...I don't like tatoos...sometimes, I like to use those fake ones..just, for fun...Another question for men...Would you say your idea mate, would be someone that is career minded and/or is in a career and makes good money?  Because, I've never been into making my life about all that..I feel I'm into doing the best for me, and I like getting an education...and throughout my life, I will always want to better myself..I just hope that someone, would like me for 'me'...I like ppl that are educated etc., but do you think that a man, would/could fall in love with someone that isn't?  I don't say that they consider themselves not smart, but I heard that a few times..What a man likes..and I don't consider myself as being 'smart' for say..My once brother-in-law, (ex's brother) married an ambious woman...She was so much so, that he divorced her..it didn't work out..But, he always said, that's what he's looking for...Well, the next woman too was ambious..but, that didn't last either..Then, sorry to say 'he died'...(he died young) I feel he died not really feeling 'love'...But, perhaps that's just my thoughts..Once, I hear a man say he likes intellectually stimulating women, I freeze..I guess, I feel I'm not one of them..(although, ppl are saying differently..but, I guess I don't believe them..just feel they like me..so, they'll say I am)  anyway...I wish I didn't feel this way...but, I do..So, to you all feel differently on this subject?  thanks  Dee

This board is kinda hard to find dee, plus it just started, just give it some time and more guys will show, at least I hope they will!

I felt the need to comment on the statement you made about men being attracted to "smart" girls. I feel the same as you. I'm not a real "intellectual" person, but I'm plenty smart in other ways. What I consider smart and someone else considers smart could be two totally different things. Guess there are alot of definitions to "smart". One person my be attracted to one type of smart, and someone else another. In some situations I feel like a total dumbass, but in others I'm very knowledgeable. So it all comes down to your /their definition. I would freeze too if a man said he liked intellectual stimulation, because to me, intellectual means knowleadgeable in lot's of wordly things, most of which I could give a sh*t about! LOL!!! Now if someone is out for fun and the happiness that simple things and simple thinking bring, then I'm soooo there!

Ask The Opposite Sex

Quote From: clockers

I'm a man and have a point of view, lol

I consider my wife hot and sexy.  In a fake world like movie stars and such, I think a women like Catherine Zeta Jones is nice looking or at least my type.  I like a classy women, not a Britney Spears type, but a Diane Lane type or Susan Sarandon.  I'm 31, blonde hair, blue eyes, but like the more sophisticated women, someone that likes me.  I like belly piercing on the right person.  My wife also has one, lol  Tattoos, just depends on the area, on a women tattoos can look bad in certain places like arms.  My wife also has 4 tattoos and I have 5.   I love a women who can think and talk about deeper things, such as politics, religion, etc.  I love a sense of humor, because how can you not laugh in a relationship.

I like a working women and a woman that can defend her stance on anything she believes.  I like the natural look on a women, because something about make-up, makes me feel a women is hiding behind something.  I want to know she will look the same when I wake up next to her.  I feel that women hide behind the make-up, so much so that they cannot be seen without it.  I don't like insecurity, even just ok women can look good with confidence.  I don't care about money and it's a turn off when a women does.  If I had a first date and a women asked what I do and how much money I make, That would be a red flag for me.

I guess my biggest thing is the money.  I feel people can be happy without much and money causes many problems in relationships.  Superficial women turn me off.  Racists or Racists comments turn me off.  Oh and the , I'm a women you are a man and the whole " we have our roles" thing turns me off.  Things should always be equal.  So I hope this helps a bit.  I was summons off the Debating among different religious beliefs board to answer this question, lol

Hi there clockers! So glad to have another man on this board! I hope it will grow because it could be beneficial to both sexes if it ever gets really going.

I love how you say "in a fake world". I guess we all tend to identify movie stars and famous people when we talk about who is sexy because they are the only ones that we all know and have seen before. I think Catherine Zeta Jones is GORGEOUS! Also Ashley Judd, she is so beautiful. Wish I could mention the hot guy that showed up at my work today or the really cute girl that waited on me at City Bites, but you guys wouldn't know who the hell I was talking about.

It's very refreshing for you to say how much you like Susan Sarandon at your young age of 31. That means there's hope for all us 40+'s! LOL! Just kidding, but I know the type you are talking about, and there is just something about their presence, sophistication and demeanor that hooks ya.

I got my first tattoo at 40 and have had 2 more since then, and I love them. They are in places that I can hide them, but the thing is, they are addictive, and I'm running out of places to hide them. Also got my naval pierced, and almost got my toungue done until they told me I couldn't drink beer for a month! Couldn't deal with that! LOL!! I'm not an alcoholic, but I think it was an excuse to talk myself out of something I wasn't really sure I wanted to do in the first place, ya know?

Thanks for your reply about the make-up. I've had so many guys say the same thing as you have, but just couldn't understand that if that were true, and lot's of guys think that way, then why do all the sexy models that are hot anyway, have to pile on the make-up? The advertisements that are geared more towards men, always have gorgeous models with TONS of make-up, so if guys like natural looking women, then why is that? You can tell that they are already hot without it, so why add it? Especially if it's true that most men like natural looking women. That's just always been like an oxymoron in my head. Especially when you know they've done so much market research to promote their "product" whatever that may be, and have apparently decided that the best way to promote it was an already gorgeous woman with a ton of make-up on top of it all. Just don't understand their thinking is all.

As far as money goes, I could live in a card board box if I was happy! I mean that's all it's about isnt' it? Happiness? I would soooo rather be happy and broke than rich and miserable. Money don't mean sh*t  as far as happines, contentment and fulfillment go.

I also hate racist comments. You are who you are as an individual, not your color, or origin or what the hell ever. We are all  mutts as far as I'm concerned, a little bit of this and that. It's the person you are that's important.

I also love what you say about "roles" in a relationship. Equal is GOOD! Even if I decided to take the traditional "role" that a woman was expected to be in past times, it wouldn't be a "role" to me it would be a choice, something I enjoyed doing. Just as important as anyone elses choices in life, but not expected of me because I am a woman.

I have visited the Debating Among Different Religious Beliefs board before, but didn't feel knowledgeable enough about my belief to be debating it. All I know is I believe in God, and that's enough for me. That board is very interesting, and I do like reading it, it's educational.

Damn dude! This is the longest reply I think I've ever had to a post! Thanks so much for joining us, and I hope you will come again! :)

thats for sure...you are a lot of fun! My kids loved you. I think you cracked Steven up. It is too bad we didnt get pics though. If it makes you feel better however, none were taken at my nephews house either! It just wasnt happening anywhere lol.

Also, I thought I would share a little bit of something with you. I was thinking about the convo we had at your kitchen table about finding purpose in life. After chatting with my nephew and then getting in the car to drive again all the thoughts came flooding back and I think I actually know what my purpose is other than living for my kids. There is a song that also helped to bring it all back....its called Elisa Lies and if you ask Jeff about the song im certain he can play it for you and fill in some gaps......I'll tell more later.

Your little sweetie-poo-pie girl making sure I was warm on the couch! I soooo wish we had pictures of that! Your kids are great! They were a pleasure, just wish you could have been here longer. Your little girl just hugged me so big and said she wished she could spend 12 days with me! LOL!!! I sooo hope we can do that again! Jeff is mesmerised by you and your kids! Tell Steven that his taste in music is awesome, and tell William that he's a little sh*t, especially when he got the fake "swirly" in the toilet! LOL!! And tell Jessica that she is beautiful. That was an awesome experience and just tells me that we sooooo gotta do that again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi and thanks for your warm welcome

Yeah, 31 is becoming even younger now-a-days especially when we are living longer.  I will always be young inside.

The make-up thing, hmmm.  I think it's very hard to get a true judgment of what men want because it's on TV, or in an ad.  I think when guys are given the option on paper, they tend to look for the more "visually pleasing" imagine of a women.  It's only because they are told that good looking women look a certain way.  They must be thin, must wear make-up, certain clothes, etc.  When you are exposed to it all the time, you tend to have nothing to compare it to, other than real life women.  The fantasy in a guys mind is what makes them like a women in an ad.  The women is whatever they want them to be, so it's not so much how they look as just a certain fantasy that comes along with it.

The make-up women wear in ads means they don't look that good in real life.  I have seen the process done.  It takes alot of foundation, stage make-up and then your regular make-up, not to mention putting the photo through a computer process that  takes out every single blemish.  The natural look means if you are with a women that looks great without it, then you can wake up next to her and her face is still on, lol  Guy's in real life like what's accessible.  They may goggle after the glamorous, thin, etc girl, but they like mostly a lower maintenance women.  One who is down to earth, can laugh, can have a good time without money, can find the humor in things.  Women are hot in all shapes and sizes any guy would say this.  You love who you love.

I can't speak of every guy though.  There are just as many superficial guys as there are girls.  Some guys do like the trophy girl or wife, just to make themselves look good.  For the most part guys like meat on their women.  Boob size for the most part doesn't matter, what I mean by that is, it has to be proportional.  Big boobs just look bad on a tiny body and small boobs look bad on a big women.  But, hey, that's just me.  Most attractive thing about a women is her personality.  Mean women suck, too nice is no good.  Don't hang up to much on the make-up thing.  Just look at every guys women and see who they are with.  Generally they are not with skinny supermodel types with tons of makeup.  Hope I helped some more,  Bye

I guess maybe if they had some bad timing or something then it might be annoying, but other than that, I think it's nice. :)

Now why does it not surprise me you forgot about that convo lol. Maybe this will help a bit. You said you read somewhere that in order to find your purpose in life that you need to sit down with a pen and piece of paper and start writing down everything you want to do and when you begin to cry that is your calling in life and your "purpose." I know mine is to get back into volunteer work. I have done it for many years and then took a break from it even though it is rewarding beyond belief. I have worked in a home for domestic violence on women/childrens, prepared healthy meals for 1200 children a week who otherwise wouldnt have a well balanced hot meal, delivered food to the elderly and the list goes on. I just love it and I have also decided that Steven will start volunteering with me since its high time for him to see how others are less fortunate and finally see the blessings he has received so far in life.

As for Jeff, im so glad I didnt make him nervous. I know the look i must have given you both about the sleeping arrangements was quite the kodak moment. I was ready to run out the front door lol. However after the margharitas I wouldnt have made it too far. Btw...dinner was great....sure could go for a bite now! We definately have to do it again and make it longer. We can show some people how to have a good time.
