Hi Everyone!

I missed "speaking" with everyone today... I tried checking in to the chat room about 5:45 PM PST, but, boo-hoo, no one was home!  I'm going to have to plan my day better!!!!!!!

Julie, good luck with the sedated dentistry....It does work; I've had it before.  I've also discovered something interesting about the care of my teeth.  It often is in direct correlation to my weight.  I guess when I care about my weight, I care about my health and that means my teeth, too.  Someone also told me that that same correlation exists between our weight and the health of our plants and  the state of our purses.  If we're not taking care of our weight and our health, it may follow that we are not taking care of our plants and we can't find anything in our purses.  Interesting thought.  I've got to try to remember who told me that.  Oh, well!  Thank heaven, my plants are starting to do better; I'm beginning to see the bottom of my purse and I've made an appointment with my dentist!

Carole, I love your idea about "carrying Dr. Phil" with you wherever you go.
He was such an inspiration to me and now that I'm trying to "get back on track," I've even put a copy of his book in my car, so if I'm stuck waiting someplace, like a doctor's waiting room (UGH!) then I can read a few more passages.  This board, however, still seems to be what boosts me most.

Joyce, you are so great on the computer.  Where do you go to find the images you use?

I'm going to try to join in tomorrow's discussion.  Not being alone in this provides great comfort, especially during stressful times.  My 90 year old father and 83 year old mother are coming back to live with me again soon.  Between helping them and taking care of my grandchild when my daughter goes to work, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.  I know that I'm lucky to have them around and close -  and I am truly grateful.  I do, however, understand the discussion about the "nesting syndrome," and the need and desire for peace and calm.  It's a sad day when a migraine driving me to my bedroom is the way I get rest!

See you tomorrow.  Peace and love.

Ellen

Hi to all ...

It is 10 PM and almost time to get off to bed.  It has been a busy day for me.  I woke up with a very sore back and it has kept me in a slow pace all day.  I had to go to the lab for blood tests this morning and then had a pedicure this afternoon.  Since my back was so sore I checked in with my massage therapist and she was able to squeeze me in for an appointment later today.  She found a lot of "hot spots" but my back isn't any better yet.  I booked a chiropractic treatment for next Tues. so hopefully that will help a little.  Right now ice packs seem to be the most effective.

Anyway I don't have much of an appetite, so no bad food went in my mouth today?  There's always a silver lining isn't there!!

Thanks, Joyce, for the retirement picture.  You always come up with the greatest pictures.  It makes this board very interesting.  You are very talented.

I hope your day with the dentist went well Julie.  The end result of all the misery will be well worth it when you flash your beautiful smile.

Our heat wave is still  continuing and today was extremely hot.  But then when I read a post (sorry I can't remember who it was from) saying the temp was 105 - it makes the weather here seem cool!  I think it is the humidity that makes it so unbearable - a dry heat I don't mind at all.

The chat room sounds like fun and sometime I am going to try it out.  With the different time zones, I am not sure which time would be best for me.

Going to take some more Advil and go to bed.  Talk to you later.

Gladys

Back for just a minute

Hi everyone, been having computer problems so haven't been  here... First I want to say a Happy Belated Birthday to Rosemary and Laineybea...sorry my wishes are a bit late...

Don't know how long I'll be able to stay on the computer right now so I'll  make this quick.. I'm trying to stick with the program as much  as I can, but I must admit I've had some difficult days..

I haven't gotten on my scale yet so I can't report gains or losses I'm aiming for that step next week.  I hope everyone is doing well and I quickly read a few posts  which mentioned Julie getting some dental work done... Julie...I hope you are feeling Ok today and the experience was a good one...

Congratulations to those of you who lost lbs this past week...I hope to join you next week in being able to report a loss...

Must go now think the puter is going to go down again...

((((hugs to all))))))   Peg  (*_*)

Thursday Noon

Hi all you terrific little WOW's,

First off, I want to thank our Canadian neighbors for this lovely cool front they have sent our way.  We have this great breeze from the north that is cool and blissful!  Our temperatures will reach about 81 today, some 18 degrees cooler than the past five days.  I thought to heaven I would just croak if this heat didn't dissipate soon!  SO, many thanks for the cooler weather.

LITTLE FLUFF and I took our walk this morning.  We have walked every morning except Sunday and it is getting easier and easier for me.  He is so excited every morning that he runs in circles all the way through the house and out the door.

LAINEYBEA - BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  Sorry I missed it . . . it was too hot to do anything but complain!

DEN MOM~~Good to see you posting regularly again.  Love those reports of places you take Dr. Phil.  If only Robin knew . . . tee hee.  Now, as soon as I have the Internet running to my computer I will add my little lamb.  I'm still working on Mom's computer and her dial-up connection.  I keep planning to call for new Internet service, but there are so many other things that need attention right now!  Soon.

PEGS88~~Good to see you posting again too.  and VICKI, you too!

Time for lunch now.  Until later,

          FLUFFY

Didn't Get it done

Hello all

Didn't get my dentristy work done on Wednesday as planned.  I went, took the pills, but they didn't put me to sleep!  I was too difficult to sedate!  So the process was called off for now.  I'm scheduled again August 26 and with the help of an anestheologist I will have an IV and be put to sleep - for sure!

I'm really sad not to have it over with!  And today I'm sorda goofy feeling - not driving....  until all the effects have worn off.

Just letting you all know what's going on!

from Julie
