I'm still here.....

Good Morning everyone this is Julie sending you greetings from Dallas, Texas.

I'm still here - just really busy with more and more out of town guests and remodelling and redecorating of our new house.

Reporting in at 254/229/180  and this morning's blood sugar 95.  Last Thursday my A1C blood test was a wonderful 5.4  I'm back to swimming and walking the dog.  Feeling good, sleeping fairly well except for the excitement of happy events!

I was supposed to have major repair on my teeth last Aug. 3rd.  It was to be a 6 hour procedure done under sedation.  Would you believe that they couldn't get me to sleep???  After 6 knock-out pills I was still wide awake!  I knew I was sleep resistant (if there is such a thing).  So we have rescheduled on Aug. 26th and there will be an anesthesiologist putting me to sleep intraveinously! I bet that will do it - haha.  I sure will be glad when that is over!

With best wishes and love to all from Julie

A rainy Saturday

~~~GIN -- I am so proud of you.  You have done so well. Now cheer the rest of us into compliance.  I sure want this to be my last big push.  Since I put in a picture of my Suzie I think you need to put in a picture of you in your sexy new nighty!   ~~~ MAC the description of your home and property always sounds so absolutely delightful.  If we ever have another cyber picnic I want it at your place!  Going fruit picking with you would be such a joy.   ~~~ LAINEYBEA -- so glad about your eye news.  I do hear that cataracts are easily treated these days.  Don't forget the good old staple of sugar free Jell-O.  I even like to dip carrots into a VERY small amount of Ranch dressing.  For 50-75 calories I can have a snack that lasts through an hour's favorite show.    ~~~~ELLEN -- I was very close to my mother, but she died when I was just 31.  After that I had an aunt who took me under her wing.  The poor dear kept trying to teach me to cook, tee-hee, but she really was a mentor to me.  Important people come into our lives from many areas but they are still so very dear to us.   ~~~~ VICKIE -- Was it you who made the comment about putting off the desired binge until tomorrow?  I have been wracking my brain trying to think of who I could thank.  Think it was you.   Well, my gd is terribly congested and I can feel my own neck glands swelling up.  Oh well. I just wish I could fall into bed and sleep for 24 hours!  Oh well, the baby-sitter will take care of her this afternoon and maybe I can nap then.  Looking forward to weighing on Monday.  So in hopes I've made progress.  Ks Grandma/Eilene
JOY
JOY --You are lucky to have a husband who can bring in electricity where you want it!  The house sounds delightful.  Inside my dreamy brain a "true" home MUST have a big porch and swing.  Enjoy, enjoy your beautiful blue room.  Ks Grandma/Eilene
Hello WOW's
EILENE, LOL!!! I don't think so! Nitey is for DH's eyes only. I was hoping to get my DIL to take a pic of me with her ditigal camera last weekend. She is a little "green-eyed" now that I'm smaller than her. When I was alot bigger she was always encouraging me. I still have my one time use camera to finish. SUZIE is a cutie.
JOY: Glad to have you back. I understand about living in an old house with little to no outlets.
JULIE: Great Going! Once you get your teeth fixed, I'm sure you will feel even better.
LAINEYBEA: I'm proud of you! 15 mins of IE. Also glad that you don't have macular degeneration. Getting the cataract removed is much simpler.
CONNIE: Isn't it a great feeling seeing our progress with putting things in order? I did some major pitching this summer. I didn't know the trashy garage affected me so much until it got cleaned.
CAROLYN: Sq. & round dancing will give you some IE. That's how DH and I met. Just be careful with the refreshments.
SHERRY: Yeah!!!! Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. Now just be careful when out and about.
We got some rain last evening and this morning. It's hot and humid. Glad I didn't have to attend the Young Farmers Consignment sale this morning with DH. I'm relieved this morning to get word about my SIL. He had a hernia repair last week, wasn't doing too swift. They took him to hospital yesterday to see if they could figure out what is going on with him. Might be his gallbladder. Poor guy probably thinks he's falling apart. My 18 yr old Marine GS called to say he got his next orders. Going to Japan for 2 yrs. He goes Dec/Jan. Hopefully, I will get to see him before he leaves. I'm proud of him, but keep a prayer in my heart for his safe return.   Gin
Danger Zones
I hope as we wind down our study of Chapter 12 we are becoming aware of our own personal "danger zones" I found this chapter very helpful to me. I go along thinking my feet are so firmly planted on the WLC/WLS path that nothing can stop me. WELL.......... Dr Phil has put some "Danger Zone Signs" up for us that I need to keep from falling in a hole, missing a curve, ~ all those things we need to be aware of to stay healthy, strong and on the path we have chosen for ourselves. I am also becoming aware of just how important each chapter is to permanent weight loss ~ healthy lifestyle efforts. I am trying to look in the mirror more to get use to the new me. I miss my round skin- tight face -- but I am making friends with my thinner wrinkled face. I have avoided becoming aquainted with this new face but after 20 years of the heavy skin- tight round face I need to do as he suggest so as not to fall back --( round face= round body) and I don't want that!! I can LIVE with the wrinkles and loose skin -- I cannot live with al the excess fat. "More Alive in 2005" Joyce
Good Morning
Well, our total rain was 2 inches last night when dh got home at 9:30.  By this morning we had an additional 1 inch.  That should about do it, I hope, but rain is in the area for the weekend "they" say, but right now it has been going north of us.
I have been cleaning up the office, polishing/cleaning bookshelves, etc. sorting books and packing up items that I don't need on a daily basis.  Will have dh take out more boxes to garage.  Am really enjoying this room, and later today will move the stat. bike in so I can do my i.e. and watch TV.
Have a great day.  I'll be back later, but right now I'm ready for my snack, then back to WOBing.
Saturday Afternoon
Good Afternoon Everybody,
     I've been trying to keep up with the posts but it has been difficult.  We were hit with some pretty powerful storms this past week and not everything is cleaned up yet.  We lost several large limbs from some of the trees in the yard and some of them were blown into neighbor's yards so I had to go around and pick them all up and drag them back here.  We were fortunate because I have learned that many people in the neighborhood were without power again and had some extreme damage.
     Thursday it rained all day so I worked indoors.  Our internet was down . . . after a rain we have problems.
     Anyhow, all is quite well here.  We ran an add in the paper and sold the extra bedroom set, washer and dryer, and have a nibble on the freezer.  Mother is happier now because so much of that stuff is out of the garage.  She HAS TO HAVE a tidy garage . . . I did not inherit that gene!
     My exercise this week has been walking and working around here.  Little Fluff and I have only walked 3 times this week because of the weather and appointments.  Spent another day at the medical clinic and had to leave at 6 in the morning so no walking that day!
     I've done a lot of outdoor work, as I indicated by picking up after the storm, but also have attacked the pine groves on the property.  We have two groves . . . one on the southeast corner of the property and another on the southwest.  I have both of them raked and cleaned out but still have large piles of needles to bag and haul to composting.
     After all of this time, I have FINALLY found my copy of THE BOOK.  The packers grabbed the one I had left out and packed it.  I got to that box today!  Yes, I'm still emptying boxes!  Have very few left though.
     Little Fluff is loving the large backyard here.  He goes out each morning and examines every corner of the property and remarkes it as his!  He's a joy and I'm so glad I got him.
     I must get busy now.  Please take care.  I wish I would have taken notes so I could have commented to individuals, but I didn't - - maybe later.
     I'm a little worried about the scale this week.  My food choices have not been bad, but the portions have been larger than they should have been.  Like maybe for a lumberjack, but not somebody trying to lose lard!
     Until later,
          FLUFFY
  EILENE-Thanks for the carrot idea-does anyone else have some suggestions? What do you all eat for a snack-morning and afternoon?????? I have been doing the peach, plum, peach, plum routine-but that doesn't do it until the next meal-  Any ideas would be most welcome.  Laineybea
