Happy Birthday LoLo

Tomorrow is LoLo's birthday ~~ Now we have not heard from her in a very long time but I have a soft spot just the same as she lives in my county, has daycare and a mother that lived with her. I can hope she is reading the board and that she will feel these birthday wishes going her way.

one last note.....

I found Patty's board at last and I am pasting one of her great sayings: August 11, 2005, 5:27 pm PDT ~Integrity It is not what we eat but what we digest that makes us strong; not what we gain but what we save that make us rich; not what we read but what we remember that makes us learned; and not what we profess but what we practice that gives us Integrity

good and bad

MARLENE -- so happy for you!  To have managed your weight like this with the suffering you have gone through is remarkable.  You and your friend have fun celebrating!

Welcome back to our lurkers.  We grow stronger with every posting.

My current plumbing problems are taken care of and I have a highly qualified guy coming tomorrow to see if there are over-arcing problems that need to be looked at.

I went to the pool this morning and the water temperature was in the 70s.  I think they left the ceiling windows open and all that rain really destroyed the temperature control.  Anyway, I dipped in my toes and then got out.  Water that temperature just makes my bones ache for hours.  Didn't help my mood at all.

I may take some extra pain pills and go walking at Target.

I unfortunately didn't take notes while I was reading.  Please know I do read them all and think kindly thoughts toward you.  Ks grandma/Eilene

RUTH T

I am so sorry; I can feel your discouragement through your posting.

Although my main problem is bingeing, I also have some trouble with portions.  Now I know all the arguments about preservatives in prepared food, etc.  So nobody needs to remind me of that.

BUT, maybe you should consider eating some prepared food so that you know exactly what calories you are getting. I have at times lost weight while eating a frozen breakfast meal, cans of slim fast, and then a frozen dinner at night, plus one or two pieces of fruit a day.  A few days a week I would forgo my slimfast lunch and get a salad from the salad bar at the grocery store using their smallest container.  It was the ONE way I could make sure that I wasn't adding on calories by larger portions.

Canned soup has specific calories which can get fudged if you make your own.

I know you want to lose weight and this is the only suggestion I can come up with.

Redecorating

Hello All

Julie here.   I've been so busy lately that I've been neglectful of all you, my friends.  Sorry.

My weight is 229.  My blood sugar A1C was 5.4 on the latest test!  Whoooopeeee.  very good!  This past week my morning blood sugars averaged an exact 100.  Is that perfect - or what?  If I keep these numbers down then my weight should begin dropping too.

I'm busy with redecorating and remodelling our new home.  There are painters outside doing a power wash preparing for new exterior paint.  A decorator is coming at 2pm this afternoon to help me in choosing paint colors.  At 4pm a man is coming to measure for the new shower and counter top in the master bathroom.  We are using a "fake" marble. . . it is actually ceramic but looks like marble.  Next week the carpenters and painters will be here to replace the sliding glass door with a lovely french door.  I'm really excited with all that is happening.

Love to all from Julie
