My animated icon is left over - sorry to say. I tried to add one when the board first started up, couldn't find my original (now showing) so chose another, when it "appeared" there was the old one. Haven't tinkered with it since (lol) I'll wait until things calm down, and I can stay calm, the pictures, etc. aren't what's important to me - talking to you all is. The other will come, if I'm patient. Some of the things that I was having trouble with, could have been me - or it might have been the board. So I let it go.
As far as my spelling - I'm afraid that goes back to my childhood. I had an aunt who taught 3rd grade, and when young, always felt that I was being checked for spelling (almost made me not want to wright letters when younger). When I started school, they used the "look-see" method of teaching (they abandoned that the following year - it didn't work) Well, they called parents in for conference and said "I" couldn't read and unless I could in the next (?) months, I would have to be held back! We then found out that they told all the parents that! Well, Mom could have been a teacher - College graduate - English major - but they told her NOT to teach me before I went to school. That was enough - she took two other girls & me, and taught us herself in our living room. We did learn how to read, and they didn't hold up the class after all (even through most of the others still had trouble) As a result, we had to take spelling classes all through high school (just our one class) because we couldn't spell as a group. Funny now. Anyway, started working (couldn't pass typing test for my first job - too slow) etc. Ended up typing after all - 47 yrs. later - and that's what I did. I do appreciate spell check. But you will find errors in my typing quite often. They are usually of the strange sort, and usually bring a laugh. Now how did that happen??? lol Sometimes my fingers simply go off on their own, and strange words will pop in. Who knows.
I understand about speaking/thinking fast - that's why I can't write things fast enough and leave out parts of sentences and words. Can't read it after I write it. But for typing - I used to transcribe from Dictaphone and my typing speed at least came up fast enough so I don't skip too many words. Or I'm not thinking fast enough these days. lol
Anyway, when I was typing I didn't have trouble with my hands, and since I retired 11 yrs. ago, now my arthritis is in my hands. I am more active walking, and the arthritis doesn't bother me as much in my knees (just occasionally) but when I worked, I had problems all the time. Our bodies are trying to tell us, keep active.
Glad to see you posting again. Sure missed you.
