Hi Everyone !!!

Hi there just a quick note to let you all know I'm still here... Been working the past couple of days so just very busy...

I'm trying my best to be good and keep with the program and the right choices when it comes to food but as with a lot of you I'm having problems when it comes to  NOT  eating ice cream and a few things like that... Ice Cream has always been my downfall and it's no diffeent now... I think I'm going to tell my son that I just can't have it in the house anymore because when I buy it for him I end up eating it too...  I have been able to abstain the past three days though so with the desire and determination to make the right choices I hope I can keep it up...

This new board is definitely a challenge too.... I do wish the messages were numbered as they were before so we could keep track of where we were and not miss any...  I suppose this is supposed to be better, BUT  I sure don't see that yet....

Hope you all have a great afternoon and evening, I won't make it to the Chat room tonight but I hope to tomorrow...

((((hugs to all))))  Peg (*_*)

Wednesday Evening

Good Evening all you Wonderful WOW's!

I can't believe it is Wednesday already.  Things here have been busy.  I am pretty much moving all day long and I'm tired.  Little Fluff and I have been walking at 7 in the morning and he looks forward to it as much as I do.  Granted, we are not walking very far yet, but we are walking!  I have a bicycle outing tomorrow afternoon with the neighbor.  I hope we don't go too far or too fast!

My food choices this week have been very good.  In addition, my portion control has been good as well.  My glucose readings, except for early morning, are excellent.  I will have questions for my diabetes Doc when I see her in December.

I swear these stairs are going to either kill me or get me in shape quickly!  On Monday, when I saw my endocrinologist, he commented on the fact that I had gained weight during the past 6 months.  He's a skinny snot and has disdainful feelings about "well-padded" patients. PTHHHHHHHHHH

To date, I have not been able to find THE BOOK.  I know I did not pack it, and I know I left it out where I could get my hands on it . . . problem is . . . I can't get my hands on it so I've not read anything from this week's assignment.  Sorry!

CONNIE, was it you who posted about planning?  I've planned meals for years - like to plan a week at a time and then only shop once a week.  You daughter is right, you should PLAN!

PEGS88, good to see your post!

You girls all have a good evening now.

Fluffy

I think it was Ellen who mentioned her daughter talking about planning.  I usually plan, but sometimes neglect that area.  Today I have written EVERYTHING down.  Asked dh to remind me to do it every day.  My planner is open on my dining room table where I see it every time I walk by it.

Today I was going to walk at the Center but they were closed due to fumes from refinishing the gym floor.  I may be bad tomorrow too.  I walked around the new Michaels store and then went to Lowes, then came home and walked to LS 1 Mile CD - Total 2 miles.  I guess that's Plan B & C.  lol

Pre-dinner BG level was 88, so that is good to go.  I go the middle of August for my A1C test, so we'll see what the numbers say then.

Talk to you all later.

MADE IT!

I made it through the day with 1360 calories.  But then I didn't get any real exercise in.  Need to get a balance here.   One day, at a time.  That is the key isn't it.  Off to bed before I nibble.  Ks. Grandma/ Eilene

Ready to call it a (good) day

Earlier I reported that BG level was 88 before dinner - then after dinner about 9:30 took it again and it was 144 - a little higher than it should be.  Decided to eat my yogurt (need to get more tomorrow - this was my last one) at 10:00 p.m. and stayed up to see what affect it would have.  Just took it again around midnight and it was 111, which is close to normal (below 110) so think it's safe to go to bed now.  (If it hadn't come down I was going to go walk up and down the driveway for a few minutes.  When I do that, I always hope the neighbors don't call the police  lol)

I feel so much better tonight, knowing that I have gotten back on track and know what my stats are.  I know "they" say I don't have to take BG as often, but it just causes concern for me.  Maybe when I get closer to my "get real" weight and my readings are in the normal range a little longer, I can relax a little more.   There were times a few weeks ago when some of my readings were higher than they should be upon rising - 124 to 130 range - for a few days on and off.  That's when I started getting worried, but also when I was having the foot problems and couldn't walk (a double worry).  Nothing like a little scare to get motivated.

I have enlisted the assistance of my dh to "remind" me to record everything, food & exercise-wise and he agreed that's something he could do.

Anyway, I'm attributing the yogurt for doing the job of bringing my BG level down to normal tonight.  I'm also seeing that I am calm and ready to go to bed for a good night sleep.

Hope everyone else has a good night.

Connie

never give up

It is time to bring out our determined little kitten. I am not sure who must never give up -- the cat or the mouse? LOL We find ourselves in both postitions with all that crops up in our life. The message is loud and clear for us to have a healthy, happy life -- follow the 7 keys and never, never give up !! Tonight I am able to back space and use my curser~~ What elation this simple task bring !!! You must go to preview then edit and then edit again but here I am with no excuses for any muddled writing. Thank you ~~ thankyou, moderator and Dr Phil board!! Joyce

Still a few mistakes due to small print when I type my message~~ I have it larger for viewing but oh I am so happy with the back space and ability to correct the mistakes I do see. I now see I am able to do this as I post my message and don't even have to go to edit. Any chance we Mac users are going to get all those new features such as spell check? I know "Never satisfied" Just had to ask LOl Thanks to everyone working on straightening out the kinks on our new board.

one more thing WOWs

I forgot to mention how much I enjoy being able to go to GO on Explorer with the new board and it says the specific board I need to go to --such as: Dr Phil message board help or Dr Phil 60 board WLC community. That is a great change and makes it possible to now come on and go where I want to read or post next. In the past it just said Dr Phil message board no matter what board you were on before. Things are really looking up on this new board. We may even have lots of pretty colors one day!!
