Hi

Archie started therapy on Tuesday.  He is good about doing his exercises so hope it will help.  He will do 2 months of therapy and then go back to the doctor.  Yes, Jane , we do have to push our men to get them to even go to the doctor but Archie's always glad afterward.  I've been faithful at the gym. I won a T-shirt in a drawing sponsored by our health insurance company.  I get to enter every day I attend this week because I attend so often to improve my health.  I had my program changed so I do upper strength one day and Lower strength exercises the next.  I do cardio and abs every day plus senior aerobics two days.  I'm using 5# dumbbells and 30# weights for strength training.  I'm following the weight watcher diet I got from my SIL.  Very similar to dividing the plate into 4 parts as Dr Phil suggests.  Lots of fruits and veg.  I have a roast in the oven now covered with potatoes, parsnips, carrots, and onions.  I've eaten oatmeal for the last three mornings because it was the easiest thing to have but next week I'll have more choices.  I have never liked oatmeal so I am really serious!  Tomorrow I'm going to have some shredded wheat at home before I go to my quit class.  Eat healthy and exercise!  Joy

HI TO ALL

Dolores;  Bet you are having fun trying on different clothes.  I know I would.  I have been very good so far this week.  Writing everything down---I am following Dr. Phil's food plan but also counting calories.  I have to do that in the beginning.  Later I will trust myself with size and amounts.  It is going very good so far--no big temptations.   I have kept myself busy all day---Bill will be going turkey hunting in a couple of weeks--so I went out with him and we set up his hunting spot.  Bow season starts this weekend for deer---my son--and 2 grandsons will be hunting here.         Joy; nice to hear Archie is doing ok with his therapy  and you sure do have the exercise down pat.   GOOD FOR YOU.

I have started on a new quilt top----using scraps.   That will keep me busy for awhile.  I still have 2 tops to put together with batting and then quilt stitching.  Doing the tops is the most fun for me.

Hope everyone is having good days.    ONE DAY AT A TIME.    Jane

I'M HERE AGAIN

Hi everyone--I can't believe it has been so long since I posted. Only doing fair on the food choices. I'm really having a problem. There's no one to push me to do what I need and I guess I'm not strong enough. I'm realy getting quite "down" about it.  I don't have any junk food in the house so that helps. Any one got suggestions how I can manage this weight loss?? No exercise either .  The CURVES and the other one whose name I can't remember are both up a serious flight of stairs and I am not able to do stairs. You all seem to be doing OK.  Look forward to any suggestions you might have.  I'm keepng busy reading short stories  for our writer's group short story competition. Really get some "jewels".  Take care--God Bless  Ginnyjane

Ladies,  how is everyone doing today?  Great to see you back on Ginnyjane.  Bless your heart.  I know how it is to not do well on the food choices.  BUT   we both can do this.  I go to the over 200 pounds to loose board and those gals are inspiring.  I don't post over there, but they do have a lot of good things to say.  One of the gals say she fills up on  raw veggies  (as many as she wants) but has controlled portions of protein  and she has lost a lot of weight.  She says to eat a lot of celery and that will help you get rid of water.  Don't get down over it, I think that makes it worse for me.   Start writing down everything you eat.  I believe that helps to.  can you do any walking?  That is one of the best exercises.  I walk on a treadmill most of the time.  I have walked outside, but my husband doesn't like me to walk by myself.   I keep telling him I am a big girl, but he doesn't listen to well.  LOL  Well I need to answer a few other ones so I will talk to you later.  Dolores

I am glad to hear Archie is good at doing his exercises.  It makes it a lot easier for you.

Good for you winning the T-shirt.  Thats great.  It sounds like you have a great exercise program to.  I am mostly doing cardio right now.  With my shoulder the way it is right now I can't do and wt lifting or the hydrolic machines.  I do two of the for legs but the ones that I have to lift with my arms I don't do.  Can't do the rowing machine either.  I did one day and it  made it more sore and hurt more.

The Weight watcher diet is a good diet to.  I like to eat oatmeal, because it keeps me satisfied for longer than anything else to.  Have a good one.  Dolores

Yes, I did have fun trying on different cloths.  I better not go shopping any more,  I have enough right now.  When I find something I like and it fits well, it sure is hard not to buy it.

Good for you writing things down.  I think that keeps us on track.  I use a small plate and try to eat a lot of veggies and not much protein.

Well I have work I need to do, so everyone have a good day making good choices.  Dolores

hi everyone

Well, I am going to try this one more time. I have written at least 3 messages and hit post, then yes I want to post it, and then it goes off and disappears.  If this does'nt come thru, I'm quiting. I do not like the new screen, it takes up my whole screen, it's harder to get on here for me. I had just gotten use to doing the other one. You all must not have any trouble since you post.  I do hope things are better for all of you.  Jinnyjane, you just have to keep going, you will get the weight off. writting it down at first helped me, now  I just eat and weigh about 2 times a week. WHAT HAPPENED, MY PRINTING CHANGED, MUST HAVE HIT SOMETHING I WAS'NT SUPPOSE TOO. Joy, glad to see Archie faithful to doing his exercises, and you have really gotten your exercises down good, surely you must be losing inches. Dolores, you seem to be doing the things you can. that's exercise. Jane, I started 2 quilt tops about 5 years ago, finally got them out and started working on those again. I did the wrong thing tho, I cut them in diamond shape, Talk about hard to put together, they are.I am making them for my 2 sons. I used alot of matterials that were theirs or things of their family. I have one top almost finished and started on the other one. I am doing them by hand. I tried using the machine, but just could'nt get them to come out right. We had a rain of about 2 min. the other day. sure wished it had lasted all day. Gas has dropped down to $249.9 at the station Leo gets his at, some of the other places are still higher. Hope it continues to drop alittle. Well, better go, see if this posts today. Have a good week-end all. Till later, Lois

Great to see you here today, but sorry you lost so many messages.  That is very fustrating isn't it.  I am trying to get in some exercise, but it is hard not being able to move my left arm the way I would like to.

you ladies are so smart doing quilts.  My mother use to do those, but I never did learn how to do it.  She did have me help her quilt some, but I was young and didn't really care to learn it at the time.  Sure wish I had now.

Lois gas here is 274.9.  AND they say it will go higher before it goes down again.  I sure hope it goes down soon.  This is crazy.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, and staying the course.   Dolores

GOOD MORNING TO ALL

Been a busy weekend but a good one--sort of.   It has been 1 week now since I restarted with the right food choices---The scale hasn't moved at all---very frustrating.   I rechecked by meals and I have made the right choices---I have been writing down everything I eat and drink---I compared it with the list from a year ago---and then I lost but not this time.    Not giving up yet---it has to show up one of these days.      We have been cleaning some half log siding our son gave us---we want to put it on the bottom half of a screen gazebo we have had for years and the squirrels have damaged the screen on the lower half-- so I have been very busy and active.

Ginnyjane;   nice to hear from you--the only suggestion I can give you is to write down everything you eat and drink.   I don't do exercise the way I should---but do keep busy.

Lois--glad you were able to post again.    Hand quilting is nice to do---I did my very first quilt by hand---but now my hands and wrists give out with hand sewing so I do mostly my machine.  Good luck with your quilts---I am sure they are really nice--wish we could see them.     Gas is down to $2.79 here as of yesterday---a week ago it was 3.34---quite a change.

Dolores;  Did you hurt your arms ??   you went Thur so much with your surgery--you don't need this now.

Hope it gets better soon.

Joy;  You must be losing inches with all the exercise you do---WW diet is a good one---good luck with it----my daughter-in-law is on South Beach Diet---she gave me the book to read but for Now I want to stay with Dr.Phil's plan---it worked for me last year and it will work again as long as I keep posting my foods and liquid.

We just had thunder--etc and rain---they say more to come--so I will turn off the computer until later---hope everyone has a good day----ONE DAY AT A TIME--Jane

How is everyone doing today.  I have messed up today and last night royally.  But I am going to get back on track the rest of the day.  I haven't been on the scales for a few days.  I think I will wait another few days and maybe they won't show a gain.  LOL NO I WON'T GIVE UP.  I worked to hard getting it off to gain it back.

Jane, as far as I know I didn't hurt my arm.  I don't know what is wrong with it.  I may have to break down and go to the doctor to see what is wrong.  All I know I just can't do much with it and cant exercise it at all.   I also have the South Beach Diet book,  but I think Dr. Phil's plan works for me better.

Well guess I better get in here and decide what I am going to have for supper.  Hope everyone is having a good day.  Dolores
