I am back at least i think it will work. LOL

Quote From: texmeme

Hello, hello, it's been a great day, the weather is beautiful.  Suppose to get down to 32 tomorrow night, but don;t think it will. I've had patio door open and ceiling fans on all day, Leo and I  did some shopping today, bought me a new skirt that FITS, size 12 grey, long and straight, the kind I love. I like them lined, but this one is'nt, think I will get some material and try to line it. The garage is right off of the kitchen, Leo wants to have Thanksgiving dinner out there so we can all be together and have fun. He's been working on it, getting rid of lots of junk, it's beginning to look pretty good. We have lots of old carpet out there, so we can vacumn it and hang old sheets over  his things on shelves on the walls. I've mentioned it to my sisters and niece that will be here and they think it's a good ideal.  Sounds like some of  you have really been busy. Do you ever just do nothing? watch a movie on tv? I guess I spend too much time goofing off, I'd get lots more done if I worked like Joy and Jane.  Dolores, sure hope you dtr gets a good report from the Dr. and won't have to get on that machine. I will add her to my prayer list.  I hate this time change, do all of you have it too, besides Dolores, her time is dark most of the time now is'nt it?? Guess you burn alot of lights in the winter.  It is about 6:15 pm and is already dark.  better go, take care, Lois

It is working again--thank goodness.  LOL  I did get a email from them and they said it took a while for the message box to come on sometimes,  so I don't know.  I tried it a few times after that and waited a while to see if it would work but wouldn't.  But thank goodness it is working now.--I may never shut up now.  LOL

Lois the weather is good here today to.  The sun is shinning, but it is cold.  LOL  I think I might as well get use to it tho it is winter.  you ask about the light--right now it isn't to bad.  This morning at work I was getting ready to leave and it was still dark, but up over the mts you see it was getting ready to be light.

I think it is a great idea to have you dinner in the garage where everyone can be together.

Lois  those girls do sound pretty busy don't they, but I think you sound pretty busy to.  LOL  I spend a lot of time goofing off to.  I spend to much time on this computer for sure.  My house is always a mess.  I do need to get busy and get it cleaned before the holidays.

My daughter goes to the doctor on monday.  someone canceled and they called her.  I sure hope she doesn't have to go on dialises (SPL)  Thank you for your prayers.  She has a lot of people praying for her

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.  Where is everyone?  Ginnyjane are you controling that peanut butter? LOL  I am afraid I have gotten addicted to almond butter and no I am not controling it to well.

Lois that skirt sound nice.  Isn't it nice to go shopping and be able to wear a size 12.  That is the size I am wearing now.  I have even started wearing JEANS.  I never did wear jeans much since high school

well guess I better get off here and start our supper.  Everyone have a great weekend.  I will be going to church and our sunday school class is having a pot luck.  Woe is my eating healthy.  LOL

But I will try to control myself.

HI TO ALL

Dolores;  Glad to have you back---I am praying that your daughter gets good news today.   Weathermen are saying we could get snow tomorrow--wouldn't mind some--it makes it good for the hunters--but don't like them driving in it.    Lois; sounds like you will have a big group for Thanksgiving----I'm not sure yet how many will be here but we went shopping yesterday and got a 21lb turkey---they were on sale for 39 cents a lb--had to spend $25.00 to get that price---but that isn't hard to do.   Joy;  Looks like you will  get snow today----hope you have nice weather to drive in.

I am still trying to get 2 more quilts done for Christmas---have to put them together with batting and backing.   I don't have a frame so have to work on the floor---my knee  doesn't like all that crawling around.    Our #2 grandson just bought a house so we went to see it yesterday---he is an electrical apprentice---so bought a small house in town that needs some fixing up.  We are very proud of him---also met his girlfriend for the first time---very nice---she has a 2 yr old daughter--so we invited her here for Thanksgiving and our family Christmas----sure would be nice to have a 2 yr old at Christmas time.  She wasn't sure yet if she could come---she lives with her parents and had to check with them.

Just had 2 big bucks in our yard---not at same time but very close---Bill was wishing it was Sat.

Hope everyone has a good day.  Have to bring some wood in the house now. Temp is going down this week.

I am soo happy this afternoon.  LOL  MY daughter went to the doctor and she does NOT have to go on dailisis.  Thank the Good Lord.  He put her on a diet of no salt,  low protein. to eat mostly fruits and veggies.  Suppose to eat mostly fish or chicken.  She was a happy camper to.  He said they would keep close tabs on her.  He said she might have to in a couple of years, but for right now she doesn't.  Thank youall for the prayers.  Prayer does work doesn't it?

Wow  Jane 2 big bucks in your yard.  Isn't that exciting.  We have moose in our yard sometimes (right in town) LOL  And we never get tired of seeing them.  I would love to have a few packages of deer in our freezer.  I think deer burger makes really good chili.

Sounds like everyone is very busy getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We don't have to many on Thanksgiving.  Usually our son comes and of course my daughter lives with us and her daughter,  and that is about it.  I have done a little Christmas shopping, but I am not near done.  I do have to get a package ready to mail to our other daughter.  I would like to have that done before Thanksgiving.

I hope everyone is having a good choice of food day.  I haven't been the best this week at all.  Yesterday our Sunday School Class had pot luck .  You guessed it I REALLY MESSED UP.   So I have to get my act together and get back on track..  I am really going to have to be careful from now until the first of the year, or I will gain really bad.

Well I think I am rambling so guess I better hush and get busy.  Have a great day everyone.  Dolores

A good evening to All

Glad to see you with a post again, Dolores.  Praise God for the good news about your daughter!  I imagine your days are getting shorter.  My cousin and his wife say they always enjoy curling up with a good book.  Jane, we don't have any snow yet and now they're talking 50% chance.  We have to go 70 miles to the VA tomorrow so hope it doesn't get too bad if the snow arrives.  We'll leave about 7 in the morning.  Sounds as though you came upon a good idea, Lois, to move your huge dinner outside where you can all visit together.  I know we enjoy our sons porch when we have the whole family because there's room for all to sit together.  I volunteered at church this morning but stopped at the gym on the way home....still was home by noon.  I've been making a new address book in my new computer...half way done.  I want to print my Christmas card labels before going to Texas.  It saves so much time and easier to do than hand write everything.  Emily Post might not approve but I never claimed to be Emily Post.  She hasn't walked in my shoes  :-)  Watch the food intake....so much easier said than done LOL   Joy

Hi everyone,

DOLORES--so thankful your dtr does'nt have to go on the machine. Sure glad you got on to post, good to know someone else goofs off too, sometimes I do feel guilty, but not enough to quit it, and Leo never complains, I'M SO LUCKY !!  Alot of my goof off time is playing games on the computer. Is'nt it great to be wearing jeans again? I love wearing them. You and Jane have animals so close to home, must be nice to look out and see them. JANE--Oh to be able to see those beautiful bucks in your yard, I know they are food, I've just never seen a big one in person.  Our son has gone a couple of times and again this week end, he has killed 2 so far, he makes alot of chili from some of it and he shares. Our Kroger store here has Jenny-O-turkeys for .37c,if you buy $20. groceries. JOY -- your time coming to Texas is growing near. We are not having but around 12  here for  Thanksgiving, Today, Leo said we may have to eat in the house, as it was 37 deg. this morning, but the garage leads into the kitchen, so we can just leave the kitchen door open and should get enough heat out there. It is a double garage, with 2 windows and the door has 8 glass panes in it  and it is insulated.    One light in ceiling, so with 2 or 3 lamps out there, it will be light enough. JOY--did you got to VA yesterday for Archie? Is he having more test or for his shoulder?? I just called and it is now 47 deg. the sun is out and the wind has calmed down, it is a beautiful day.  Well,it's 20 till 2 so guess I'd better try to get some sewing done.  I'm still trying to take up some of the blouses and couple light jackets on the shoulder.  IT'S NOT EASY, but I just can't buy very many clothes at once. and these are too new to give away, COURSE I DON;T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO LOOK LIKE WHEN I FINISH. I'M really trying to do a neat job. I baste them after I pin them in, and try them on, if they look half way desent, then i sew them on machine. Times flying, so take care, hope everyones doing ok, have'nt heard from Jinnyjane, hope she is ok   Lois

HI TO ALL

Dolores;  I am so happy for you and your daughter---now you can have a good holiday.   We woke up to 3 inches of heavy wet snow this morning.  Started as rain yesterday and as the temp went down---it changed to snow and snowed all night.  Trees were so pretty with the snow hanging on the branches until the wind whipped up today and blew it all over the place.  Our buck was back again today---hope he hangs around until Sat.   Lois;  I thought I got a good deal on Jenny-o turkeys but your price is even better.   Gas has come down to 2.29 but bet it goes up again this weekend.

Joy;  Hope the news from VA is good news.    Have been so busy sewing---my eating has been good---no time to snack.    Hope everyone has a good evening.    Jane

GUESS WHO'S BACK!!

RIGHT!  I'm here again.  Been off doing 'stuff' and working on Christmas and goofing off.  I was sick for a day or so.  Food poisoning.  ~But not real severe. The hard way to lose weight.  DOLORES: I am so pleased at the news about your daughter.  Been praying and as you said --Prayer works.  Yes I am sort of controlling the peanut butter.  I didn't buy it the last time I shopped!!  -------- You all are lucky to have deer so close that you can see them near. We have red deer here but I have never seen one.  Last time I saw deer was when I lived in Texas and that was a long time ago. JANE; thanks for your e-mails. Aside from being neat,They remind me that I should post.  Food choices were pretty good.  I'm down about 3-4 pounds.  If I exercised I could probably do better.  I keep telling myself that I'm going to walk and then find excuses not to.  ----I noticed that you mentioned that gas was at $2.29--ours has now risen to the equivalent of about $6.25. Everyone is really complaining.  Doesn't bother me--no car.----LOIS and JOY---- I hope all is well with you. JOY  When do you go to So.Texas?  I guess you all are getting ready for Thanksgiving (notice the price of turkeys mentioned)  It is, of course, not observed over here so no joy till Christmas. ----It's 4:30AM so I guess I'd better give over for now. G'nite and God Bless--Ginnyjane.

Hi Everyone

Can't believe I haven't posted since Monday night!  A busy week.  Everything was fine at the VA but it did fill the day.  Wednesday I went to a meeting about Part D of Medicare.  I had found info on the computer saying it would cost me $1.87 a month.  I didn't think that could be real but then an article in the news paper showed a plan at that price.  When I went to the meeting the gal said there was a $1.87 plan for people who did not need many meds and by enrolling you would protect yourself from a penalty if you wanted to move to a higher plan later.  You can change plans in November.   Lots to find out.  My insurance is going up about $40 the first of the year so I'm thinking about changing.  So much fun to grow old!!  Thursday I went to quilting at church came home and finished my Christmas baking, did some sewing and then had to go to visitation for a 61 yr old friend.  Today was my block of the month day, sewing for the last block before I packed up my machine this afternoon and some material scraps I hope to make into a quilt this winter in Texas.  We just returned home from our night out and already it's bedtime.  Thanks for the E-mails.  I just don't have time to answer each one so am letting you know via Dr Phil that I did receive them.  Do have a good weekend and let every day be a day of thanksgiving....Joy

HI TO ALL

No deer as of today.   I am the only one that saw a buck and I saw him from my living window.   My grandson Took a shot at 2 deer but they were in the trees so he didn't get a good shot at them.   It is getting colder again---temp this morning is 20---they say by Thursday morning we will be in the single numbers.   We are expecting snow tonight --most of the snow we had is gone--temps got into the 40's on Sunday.    I will spend most of today getting organized for Thanksgiving Dinner--not sure yet how many will be here but I know 9 for sure----another 4 or 5 might come.   I always have enough food so it doesn't make any difference if they come at the last minute---just have to move over at the table.     Started some Christmas shopping yesterday---didn't get much but at least it is a start.   Joy;   If I don't get on here before you leave--I hope you have a safe trip and good weather.  To everyone;    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!   Jane

Hi everyone,

Well, it's a beautiful day, 54 deg,at 10:10 am. I just took 2 pecan pies out of the oven, have the turkey in the sink with cold water, will take it out soon and put back in the refrig. Our son has gone deer hunting and will be back later today. He is going to cook turkey and make dressing. He is a good cook, he cooked a hen and made dressing last year and me and one of my sisters made dressing also, but guess who's was eaten first?  HIS.  He wanted to do it again this year so we all decided to let him. My youngest sister and husband are leaving today to take a 10 day cruise, so they won't be here, but the rest of us, including my niece, made a menu and divided it between all of us.  We have the garage all cleaned and tables and chairs out there, it looks pretty good.  I really cleaned house good yesterday. I am getting my hair trimed at 1:15 today. My son gave me a recipe to make for him. It's a sweet potato pie with Pecan topping, sounds good, so I will make that this afternoon. It did get down to 34 deg the other morning. but it's a sunny one today.  I know everyone is getting busy with all the cooking and cleaning for company, and alot may not be posting for a few days, so I do hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving day.  It was good to hear from Jinnyjane again.  So till later, Lois
