Hi

Had a busy day......I had my first day off (during the week) from the temp job since April 6th. I took my Aunt who is visiting from NY to the zoo, the aquarium, the river walk, out to eat lunch and shopping at the mall. We left this morning @ 10 and I got her home at the folks house @ 9 this evening. We did lots of walking and drank lots of water. I believe she had a great time.....................Connie, all I can get of your picture is the tops of your heads. Since the new message board all I can do is post, no spell check, no paragraphs etc..Right now I am just happy that I can just post! Eventually the kinks will be worked out. .............Karen- Glad to see you, I have missed you. Glad to hear your picken the house out......Wishing all a great Thursday! Hugs Jackie

Hello Everyone

Jackie,  If you continue to have problems put a note in to the technical staff under Contact Dr. Phil and maybe they can help you.  Someone did something to help me when I could not post for so long.  They are very nice and help you the best they can.

Connie, not 146 pounds yet because if it was I would be at goal range.  It is only as of this morning 118 pounds off and still 40 to go.  I think you need to put one of those beautiful pictures of you and your husband in your profile and then maybe Jackie could see you.  Just a thought.  The site automatically downsizes it for you at least it did mine as I did not know how to downsize it but I tried and it worked.

Barbara keep up the good work you will get to your goal in no time.

As you can see the scales are again moving in the right direction for me.  I am happy.  I hope that by next week I will be in  the 150's again after so long.  I just finished swimming my two hours again this morning and had a healthy breakfast.  Now I am going to work on the drinking my water.  It is a slow process but I keep telling my self that it did not come on overnight and this lifestyle change is forever so even when I get to my goal the only thing I will change is to allow myself a little extra now and again but do not plan to change anything else if I can help it.  I have found that I like this lifestyle and feel better doing it so do not want to change---now as I get older I may have to decrese the IE a little but hopefully I will be able to continue to swim and walk on into my 90's and beyond.

Have a great day everyone.  Drink your water!!!                           Alice

Alice you have done such a good job and have certainly gotten the right thinking going for you.  My question to you is, did you follow Dr.Phil's Ultimate Weight Solution program with his 7 keys to do this?  I know it's what I am doing, but I see alot of people on the various boards have swayed from his program and are following others.

I know for me it has been the one that works.  And I know because I've been on every possible diet program there has been.  I tell everyone it is a lifestyle change and I want to become healthy, following it the weight will come off.

Jackie, sounds like you had a wonderful day with your Aunt.

Karen, so glad to hear from you and that the house is coming along.  Hope your workload slows down for your sake.

Bren, keep up the great job of swimming, I wish I had the opportunity to go in the pool every day.  Looks like I'm going to have enough to have another class Wednesday night :)

Lisa, how is the ie going?  Have you been to the gym?

Hugs to everyone, ttfn Love Barbara

Yes the only diet I have followed is the Dr. Phil Ultimate Weight loss diet plan.  I did use his RSP for a few days after about a year once when I was on a plateau as when I started with it the RSP was not out.  Yes I have used the 7 keys and have tried to do what I could to make it work for me.    I know what you mean about many others have used other ones but I decided that if this is working for me I want to continue with it.  In the very beginning I felt that I was so fat that I thought about going for the stomach stapling but then decided that I would give this a try first.  And after I had lost about 40 pounds I then looked back and wondered what I was thinking as this plan if you work it does work.  What I had been doing for years was not eating often enough.  I would only eat once or twice a day and could not understand why I was not losing.  After using Dr. Phil's plan and suddenly start losing made me realize what I had been doing wrong.  Also using the other keys I found that I needed the clean environment and also had to look at what was making me eat in the first place and found that I had been an emotional eater and to this day have to really clue in whenever I get emotionally upset but have lost this weight with the death of my husband, sister, and my father in these past two years and have been able not to turn to food thru it all.  Yes I did have a day or two that I did give in but after realizing what I was doing I was able to get back on and continue on.  Not fast but slow but sure.  I know you and everyone can do it.  The message boards help also.  During the two weeks they were down I found it very very hard to go without the support of the boards.

I hope that this helps a little.  Have a good day.           Alice

Happy Days are here again!

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been away so long.  I hope everyone is doing well.  I haven't gotten to read all the posts I've missed, but will try to this weekend.  Life's just crazy.  Connie, the wedding picture is beautiful.  Congrats.  Val, glad to hear chemo isn't as bad as you thought.  That is a true blessing.  I did catch that Niki is on Vacation.  How great.  I'm jealous.  wink-wink!

I'm really working on things now ladies.  I'm keeping track of my food again and started walking again today.  Took the kids and the dog.  Now everyone is pooped.  It's so hot here!  UGH!!!!!  The dog isn't doing so well, so I'm staying up for a bit to keep an eye on him.  We only walked about 20 minutes, but I guess it might be a little to much for an overweight pug in this heat.  We're going again in the morning and tomorrow night.  I'm loving it again.  Reading your posts helped motivate me.  I had to lurk because I'm totally embarrassed with how I've regressed.  I've gained back all my weight and feel like a failure, but I'm snapping out of it.  Re-reading and journaling again.  Getting my ummmmmmmmmmmmm "stuff" back together and working on me.  I've worked on everyone else and now (although I feel a bit selfish doing it) I HAVE to make the me time again.  I've decided for every pound I lose, I will get to take a nice long bath.  That time for me with a book and a bath sounds heavenly right now.  School starts on Monday, so life can get back to some normal.  The kids have had friends galore over this summer.  OYYYYY!!!!  Our niece has been here since last Sunday and we're taking her home Saturday.  Finally, the summer will be over.  Back to normal, crabby kids, not wanting to get up....homework and after school activities. ....... hmmm, OK, so maybe it won't be so calm, but it's better.  LOL!

My best to everyone!  I'm so motivated again.  Whooooo-Hoooooo, I CAN DO THIS!  I WILL DO THIS!  ONE DAY, ONE HOUR, ONE MINUTE, ONE CHOICE AT A TIME!!!

LOVE AND HUGS TO ALL,

Wendy

Morning all

It's a beautiful day.  I was on the trail at 7am this morning and walked 30 min.  There was a nice cool breeze and no bugs.

Wendy welcome back.  One word that is not in our vocabulary is "failure".  Nobody here is a failure, you've just had a slip up.  We all have them but that is when it is the most important time to be here posting so we might be able to work you through it.  I hope you stick to your guns and do take "me" time and no it is not selfish.  What is selfish is not living a healthy lifestyle for yourself and your family.  This is how I've had to look at it and to me that's where Key #1 is so important to get your mind back in right thinking and positive outlook.

Alice, thanks for the answer.  I believe in Dr.Phil's program and I know it works.  I'm sorry about your losses over the last couple of years, I hadn't realized this.  Where are you living, I keep thinking it's in New Brunswick but I could be totally wrong.  When the boards were down I really missed them also.  I have a lot of people's e-mail addresses, but also many that I don't have so I would have lost touch with them if these boards were gone completely.  I was so pleased when I returned from my vacation and they were back up and running.

Niki, your vacation must soon be up, hope you have enjoyed yourself.

Val, hope you are still feeling great.  When's the next chemo session?

Hugs to all on the board.  Take care and have a great weekend.

TGIF !    ttfn love Barbara
