(Original Air Date: 01/29/07) Everyone wants to be loved, but what happens when being the object of someone's affection turns creepy or even fatal? Celebrities are not the only targets – stalkers can be found in any neighborhood and town. Michelle says her ex-boyfriend, Melvin, is obsessed with her, and she fears for her life. Melvin admits he constantly thinks about Michelle and can't live without her in his life, but he says he gets mixed messages from her. Find out the extremes Melvin has gone to in his relationship with Michelle, and why his actions prevented him from coming to Los Angeles for the taping of the show. And, why does Dr. Phil tell Michelle she's playing with fire? Then, Katrina has been infatuated with rap star, Jay-Z, for the last three years. She sends him 200 e-mails a day, has called him over 300 times and has even tried to befriend his best friend and sister. She is convinced that if Jay-Z met her, he would want to be with her, but is she willing to risk jail time just to get close to him? And, meet a Hollywood actress who was stalked on the big screen … and then in real life. Why does she fear her stalker may strike again? Share your thoughts, join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

Get real.

Quote From: flrat69

Have you tried life without a cell phone?  Many people have done it successfully for years.
Did you ever notice that in those days, there were a lot more payphones?  And before that, no phones at all.  Perhaps she should try life without a computer, car, or running water as people have done it successfully for millenia.

Why don't you explain to all of us the need to have your ear constantly attached to a phone?  Is your broker calling?  If you think a cell phone isn't a pay phone you need to wake up.  Oh, I see!  You can't drive while using the old pay phones.  Is the conversation more important then the person or people you may very well kill while driving?  Not every technology is necessary or even groovy.  Why would anyone insist that their right to use a cell phone(?) is more important than there right to life free of a stalker.  I guess simple answers don't work on technocrat want-to bes.

how old are you?

Quote From: actress_1

I have crushes on celebrites all the time, and I have bipolar disorder and take meds for that and OCD too. One time, I did get a little overboard with a crush, but I didnt get too far with my plans, because I didn't know where he lived. (I was jealous of my cousin for going to see Enrique Iglesias in concert), and therapy helped with that. I do have a question about meeting famous people. Can you meet someone famous without stalking him/her, because in my heart I know that even though I've met him, I could still never be with him, but my brain would probably say otherwisse?
how old are you?  if you're over, like, 13, it's time to grow up.  with celebrities, you are looking at the wrapping paper and you have no idea what is inside. could be garbage.  why waste your life over that mystery when there is really no way of ever knowing?  work on yourself--being your best self.  meet real people and work on building relationships with them that are based on kindness and thoughtfulness--real stuff.  keep getting help.  you need it.

Missing post

Quote From: Pleasance

Board moderator ---  Where is the somewhat lengthy post that I made very late last night?

I don't see it this morning.

If I'm having trouble locating it please assist me in finding it.   I do realize there is a delay and most especially when folks are not on duty into the night.  Understandable.

If the post was removed, could you please help me understand why ?

I had discussed Dr. Phil's approach to the situation with Michelle.

I also discussed the use of Domestic Violence Experts.

I touched briefly on the legal matters regarding the show.

There was other input on my part.

And to end the post, I offered some resources to any and all abused women.

Is my post still in the holding pattern?

Or did it truly get removed.

Should I check back later on?

Or should I continue to wonder ?

Thank you in advance for some insight.

Your post is still there, I just read it.....try page 7

shocked at such low self esteem!

Quote From: tkodog

I hope and pray that the people on the show yesterday get much needed help!!!  I feel someone may end up DEAD if something is not done NOW!!  Please listen to Dr. Phil and help your selves!
Oh my god!!! Somebody needs to wake that woman up! She has clearly been abused and controlled by that man for too long! The first thing she should do is get a good old fashioned make over and maybe that will help her self esteem because clearly.... he is one of those men who controls everything about their significant other.  I felt so sorry for her yesterday.  I just wanted to shout  "get up, get a life, move on and leave that loser in the dust!!!!"

As long as you're advocating people give up their cell phones, why don't you give up your computer and internet hookup, hmmm?  And where exactly did I advocate that people use cell phones while driving?

Giving up her cell phone will not magically make the woman's stalker disappear.  And if he shows up while she's out in public or slashes her tires and leaves her stranded, now she has to go find a payphone to get help.

Last time used a payphone...

Quote From: countrymom7

I wish they would bring back the payphones!!!
Last time I used a payphone was in 2002 at SeaTac Airport.  They changed me something like $2.95 a minute!  I prefer my cellphone with the national calling plan.

Katrina

I don't believe for one minute that this girl came on the show for help. I believe she came on so that J Zee could see her. She got dressed up for him. She shows no indication of sincerity about wanting to change. I feel she could be a threat to Beyonce if she had a chance.

Why has someone not taken action?

How on earth  does she get his phone  number and email?

She got all dressed up for him to see her because she believes that he will want her. She is a NUT and a KOOK and needs to be in jail.
