Look careful and you can find string cheese that has a lighter fat content. I've even cut some up and put it in my egg beaters. Not bad.

Well, this will definitely be a learning experience for your daughter and a real eye opener living away from home cause all of a sudden they figure out hey.....these stupid chores have to be done in the real world wherever we go and there are still rules.....maybe different ones but they are still there.  Keep taking care of Vickie. You're a priority.

Have a good day.

chilly

thanks for the tips about string cheese.

yes it will be a learning experience for my daughter, who does she think will be cleaning up when the 2 get an apartment.lol  she'll be doing more then 2 chores and keeping her room clean then.

Thank you I am trying hard to take better care of myself.and making myself a priority.

SHARON:It always seems easier to eat the things we shouldn't without being seen.  Jelly beans and chocolate don't crunch loudly, and carrots and apples do. Pretty hard to sneak them around the boss.

VICKIE: It is nice to see you back and feeling somewhat better.

CHILLY:  What a great PEP talk you gave to everyone.  Just what we are all in need of.  If that doesn't work, give us a swift kick in the butt.

ALICE:  WAY TO GO GIRL!!! In the 150's now. I am so proud of you.  I dream of that day.  You are such an inspiration to us all.  I admire how hard you have worked at it and I love the payoff you got.  Thanks for showing us that it is not just all about food, but that the IE is very important too.  That is my big downfall. Because my knees and hips hurt so much, I tend not to do much in the way of IE. I know that is a poor excuse as there are other exercises I could do that will not impact the hips and knees.

SHIRLEY & KAREN: I can see you gals getting more and more serious as the days go by and I just know one of these days it is going to click for you.  Like Chilly said-just work on a 10 lb sack of spuds or a 5 lb bag of sugar.  I am going to work on 5 lbs of butter.

REEN: Thinking of you and your daughter today.  Hope each day is seeing improvement.  You and your family are in my prayers.  Did you get the school shopping done today?  How old are the girls?

Come on ladies---let's go and JUST DO IT.

Love ya.  Marion/BC

so glad to see you back again.

thank you--I am continuing to feel better each day.I am still taking it easy--I want this time to last as long as it can.lol

happy you were able to get your phone problem taken care of and are back with us again

IT IS GOOD TO SEE SO MANY FAMILIAR PHRIENDS AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN AWHILE SINCE I HAVE BEEN HERE. I AM HAVIJNG SOME TROUBLE FIGURING OUT WHO I AM, WHAT I AM, WHAT I WANT AND WHERE I AM GOING. MY GIRLS HAVE BEEN WORRIED ABOUT ME, MY YOUNGRST TOLD ME YESTERDAY. THEY HAVE BEEN TALKING TO EACH OTHER WORKING UP TO TALKING TO ME. I AM APPARENTY FORGETTING CONVERSATIONS, ASKING QUESTIONS ALREADY DISCUSSED A SHORT TIME BEFORE, I FELL DOWN THE STAIRS IN BB TWICE IN 6 MONTHS, THEY THIINK I AM HARD OF HEARING AND OTHER THINGS I AM DOING THAT IS WORRING THEM. I HAD A STROKE WHEN I WAS 33 AND HAVE THOUGHT THAT MY MEMORY WAS EFFECTED, I HAVE TRIED TO HIDE IT, BUT I GUESS I AM REALLY BAD NOW. I MADE SOME DOCTORS APPTS. FOR MONDAY, BLOOD WORK AND GYN. HAVE BEEN PUTING THEM OFF FOR MONTHS, JUST DIDN'T FEEL LIKE DEALING WITH THEM. HOWEVER, THEY CAN REFER ME TO A DOCTOR WHO CAN TAKE SOME TEST AND MAYBE FIND OUT IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME. I AM SOMEWHAT WORRIED, I HAVE GONE THROUGH HEALTH ISSUES BEFORE, BUT SOMEHOW THIS SEEMS DIFFERENT. MOSTLY I FEEL BADLY THAT MY GIRLS SEE SOMETHING THAT WORRIES THEM ABOUT ME AND I DO NOT SEE IT IN MYSELF. IT IS STRANGE TO BE TOLD I HAVE DONE THIS OR THAT, BUT I DO NOT REMEMBER IT, BELIEVED I WAS DOING OR SAYING SOMETHING NORMAL THAT WAS NOT AND WORST, I NOW DO NOT TRUST MYSELF. MANY IN MY FATHERS FAMILY HAD DEMENTIA STARTNG, IT SEEMED, IN THEIR 70'S, MY DAD ALSO. I SAW HIS MOTHER AND SIBBLINGS HAVE IT AS I WAS GROWING UP. AS AN ADULT I KNEW THAT THIS COULD BE MY FUTURE. I WATCHED MY DAD THE YRS. I CARED FOR HIM. IT WAS NOT EASY TO WATCH NOR TO DEAL WITH. I DO NOT LIKE TO THINK THAT IN MY 50'S I MIGHT ALREADY BE STARTING INTO DEMENTIA, NOT EVEN SURE I WANT TO KNOW. I KNOW MY MEMORY IS BAD, BUT IF WHAT THE GIRLS ARE TELLING ME IS TRUE, IT IS MORE THAN A MEMORY PROBLEM IT SOUNDS MORE LIKE SENILITY. DO NOT GET ME WRONG, I AM NOT HAVING A PITY PARTY HERE, I NEED TO SEE IT WRITEN AND TELL SOMEONE, BUT NOT TO A PERSON WHO KNOWS ME. SOME OF YOU KNOW ME, BUT I AM ALSO ANONYMOUS ENOUGH TO FEEL SAFE. I WONDER IF I HAVE DONE ANY OF THOSE THINGS TO MY TWO DEAREST FRIENDS. WHAT THEY MUST THINK IF I HAVE. AM I GOING CRAZY AFTER 7 YRS. OF TAKING CARE OF MY PARENTS OR UNDER SO MUCH STRESS FROM IT THAT MY BRAIN IS FRIED OR HAVE I JUST GOTTEN OLD FASTER BECAUSE OF THOSE 7 YRS. WHAT EVER IT IS I NEED TO GET BACK IN CONTROL OR IS IT TOO LATE. ONE THING IS FOR SURE I AM GRATEFUL TO HAVE YOU. THE 50'S BOARD SAVED MY LIFE. I AM SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE FOUND THAT BOARD, THBIS BOARD AND YOU. I TREASURE THE TIME I AM HERE WITH YOU. I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIFE. I NEED YOU AND ALSO WANT TO BE NEEDED, SUPPORTIVE AND A LOVING FRIEND TO YOU. WHEN I CAME IN THE BEGINNING I WAS IN A DARK TUNNEL UNABLE TO SEE OR FEEL. AFTER A FEW MONTHS I SAW LIGHT. I OWE SO MUCH TO THOSE WHO HELPED ME. LOL BEV

bev I didn't forget you Hun--just had to get re-setup in my room.

I have been sensing something was wrong--but didn't know if I should ask!

I think it was wonderful for your family to approach you with their concerns the way they did.

I am glad to hear you are going back to the doctor and getting things checked out.

thank you for sharing this with us. and I hope seeing it all in writing helps.

You hang in there and remember we are all here for and with you--no matter what troubles you face.

I am proud to have you a part of my life and will do anything I can to help.

you are such a strong person to have been there for your parents and go threw all you have yourself.

I am glad you opened up and told us what your going threw. No pity coming from here but I offer alot of loving support and a helping hand.

((((((BeverlyC))))))))

My sweet friend, so many things can cause the mind to become less alert, and confused..forgetful...Because you have seen loved ones suffer dementia, it is only natural that you as well would be concerned of this...Hon, thyroid problems for one can cause forgetfulness, also, diabetes, any emotional trauma's, there is such a wide array of things...Get checked out to make sure all your body levels are fine...this is good ...

Be at peace dear friend..you have just been through 7 years of caretaking others, and the loss of them both, as well as all the new changes that have occured lately..The trip to the UK, the new home, business, and so many things...Sleep deprivation also can make one forgetful...there are just so many things...Sending you hugs, love and blessings, for you are a wonderful friend, and support of this board and the 50's...

It is good that your dd's notice a change for then you can get it checked out...cast those fears far away dear, there is no room for any more distress in your life, so please don't fret these beautiful days away, enjoy them hon, for this IS YOUR time...your time to do for Bev, to enjoy these days, months and years without borrowing from the "distress bank"..it's okay hon to feel well,, do for you for a change and to ENJOY your life....

I personally thought you wrote your feelings and thoughts very clearly and well..smiling... Hey, g/f when my dad died last year from Alzheimers I too thought my forgetfulness was an indication that I was developing it, as my older brother was also just diagnosed with Alzheimers..it turned out to be my thyroid, as like I said it IS natural to assume maybe we are next in line..because we do have the AWARENESS now ...

Hang in sweetie, see your GP and ease your mind hon...

Hugs and love,
Karen

Karen is so right--

many things can cause forgetfulness, and make us feel unsure of our self.

I too have been suffering forgetfulness---I have forgotten watching over half the movies we own,and watching them--doesn't bring back the memory that I had either.they are new shows to me.I can even forget if I have eaten or not.and yes I have those times I don't remember a conversation.I can never remember my own age.I met an ex on the street one day--and when he asked if I remembered him---I honestly couldn't--I lived with this man for 2 years. Now thats forgetting.lol I felt bad-cause I know he was hurt that day.

My memory problems a caused by other things, then that which you have mentioned. stress plays a part for sure.

my memory goes in and out.So as Karen said please don't fret--let your doctor help you figure out what is causing this problem.
