(Original Air Date: 02/15/07) The bad behavior of some young celebutantes is all over the news — Paris Hilton receiving jail time, and Britney Spears going to rehab. Dr. Phil's guests are spiraling out of control by emulating the celebrity life. Chelsey, 21, is a self-admitted good-time girl who loves limousines, nightclubs and tequila shots. Her obsession with partying is so bad that she's been in drug rehab three times in the past three years! Chelsey's mother, Renee, wants her out of the fast lane before she crashes and burns. Can Chelsey change her ways, or is the damage beyond repair? Then, 23-year-old Raquel thinks nothing of driving drunk, wearing sexy clothes and flirting with the boyfriends of other women. She even travels with an entourage! Raquel's sister, Angie, believes she's destroying her career by living the high life. Will Raquel sober up when Dr. Phil gives her a dose of reality? Tell us what you think!

Find out what happened on the show.

Chelsey - A Rehab Failure

Obviously Chelsey has gotten not a thing out of rehab -- she probably went for several reasons:  one, its the 'cool' thing to do these day; and second, the family gravy train was ended unless she acquised and entered rehab.

If and when Chelsey is successful in rehab one day she'll learn that she has to EARN the trust of her family - it's no longer automatic - she abused their trust much too often and continues to.

Unfortunately Chelsey's speech patterns show brain damage due to drug abuse - and her complete lack of maturity shows she's been addicted for long time as her emotional growth stopped when she started drinking and drugging as it does with all addicts. She keeps saying, I want a confident to talk you - Chelsey - your mom is your mom not your friend.

young and reckless

I sure hope that Dr. Phils dose of reality helps these girls amongst many others who might be watching. What a waste of time and energy these people are into, wonder who their role models are in every day life? Seriously, I think one probably has a very low self image of themselves to be acting like this, and of course Hollywood doesn't help any, Paris and Brittney? blahhhhhhh, those are two so called entertainers who are not welcome on my tube.

i hope that niether of these young women have to see what the careless action does to a family. a druck driver took my nephew's life at the age of 16 and my sister has never been the same.

the problem

I think everyone needs to focus on the fact that she's been raped twice. that's the root of the problem

I'm in SHOCK!!!

Chelsea is an exact replica of myself as a 21 year-old. I too was involved in the drug scene, although I can honestly say I never drove drunk or emulated a "movie star." I thank Dr. Phil for this particular show (6/21/07) because it has become an epidemic among young adults to "party" all the time. The biggest red flag is becoming distant with their family. I believe that alcohol - NOT marijuana - is the "gateway drug."

PARENTS: if your child is puling away from you, keeping odd hours, or not keeping their promises to you, take action! There is something wrong, and I have lost too many friends to overdoses and suicide. Don't question your gut instinct, intervene before it's too late.

06/26 The Young and the Reckless

These are young, beautiful, intelligent young women. It's such a shame to see them trash their lives like this. Painful for the whole family in general. How sad.....................

Suicde

A very wise lady told me these few words when I had decided that suicide was my only answer.   She ask me what hurt so bad that I felt death would be better living?   The pain in my head ,my heart and my soul acked so deeply that it hurt to take a breath.  She then said, " Well, my child if you kill your God given body that isn't hurting, do you really think you can kill that part of us that isn't seen??  That pain can only be healed here on earth with the body that you have.  So you had better think before you do something that you will carry that pain over into _____ , and then she gave me  a hug and told me she would always love me and left the room.   A beam of sunlight broke thru a dull grey over cast sky and I  ( as they say )  saw the light .  The difference of heaven and hell is our decision.   Living gives us the chance to heal but suicide is the never ending pain.  Not the other way around.  I was only 17 years old at that time and now I am almost 60.      Sincerely , A thankful great-grand NANA.

Who WOULD want to be one of those celebs!?!

I'm sorry. But take it from a teenage girl, you would have to have some DAMN LOW self-esteem to want to be Paris Hilton. I mean come on, she is not even at all attractive. She looks (not to mention acts) completely stoned half the time.

Try as these girls might, they will never be someone else. You are, for better or for worse, are stuck with you. That is just a law of science. You can either make the most of who YOU are, or waste your time daydreaming about someone else, which can only be detrimental to you.

What were the three questions Dr. Phil asked the last guest?

What are the 10 defining moments in your life?

What is the second question?

Who are the 5 most influential people in your life>

Thanks for any help!

To Chelsey

Hey Chelsey,

I saw your story on Dr. Phil. I just wanted to say that I think you came across a very sweet girl...yeah, you didn't have such a great past. You can make a difference though and I believe you will. You've got a supportive mother and supportive friends.

I was shocked that you even considered suicide..Dr. Phil was right when he said you don't have the right to take your life away. Toward the end of your segment when I saw you laughing and smiling I thought, "Wow! That girl is beautiful....no way would I ever want her to not be living."

You said that you wanted someone that you can really trust and talk to and open up to. Well, your friend that was there said she was always there for you, so I would tell you to open up to her. I also wanted to say that I was touched through a girl like you. I would be honored if given the opportunity to be your friend. I don't know if you'll ever see this...but if you (or anyone who personally knows Chelsey) see this. Please contact me. I would love the opportunity to talk with you and get to know you on a personal level. Have a great day!

E-mail me sometime follower_of_christ7@hotmail.com

Yes...I'm a Christian, but if you're not that's okay too...I don't push God on people.

Your friend,

Erin

Good Message From A Teacher

A teacher once told our class: "one moment's pleasure can cause a lifetime of misery." I always remembered that.
