HEY BUDDIE 

 

I AM DEFINITELY FEELING LIKE AN OLD TIMER HERE.  GOT A GOOD FULL LENGTH VIEW OF MYSELF TODAY AND IT WAS NOT A PRETTY SITE I CAN TELL YOU. 

 

GOT TO GET A GRIP ON MY LIFE OR ITS GOING TO BE TOO LATE. 

 

I WILL BE BACK.  I GO BACK TO WORK TOMORROW NIGHT FOR THE NEXT 3 NIGHTS SO I WONT BE ONLINE, BUT I WILL BE BACK FRIDAY.

IT'S ENCOURAGING READING EVERYONE'S SUCCESS STORIES.  I'M NOT DOING VERY WELL AT THE MOMENT.  THE STRESS HAS GOTTEN THE BEST OF ME.  I'M LEAVING FOR ARIZONA ON FRIDAY FOR THE HOLIDAYS.  I'M TAKING MY DR PHIL BOOKS WITH ME TO "STUDY UP".  I WISH I COULD SAY I LIKE EXERCISING, BUT I DON'T.  WHEN I WAS IN MY FORTIES, I USE TO SWIM 1/2 MILE THREE TIMES A WEEK AND LOVED THE FEELING.  I DID THIS AROUND WORKING TWO JOBS AND GOING TO SCHOOL.  I MUST HAVE USED UP ALL MY ENERGY THEN BECAUSE I SURE DON'T HAVE MUCH NOW.  I'VE TRIED SWIMMING AGAIN BUT THE ARTHRITIS IN THE SHOULDERS WON'T LET ME DO IT ANYMORE.  I WILL FIGURE OUT SOMETHING.   

  

BECKY, I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN SANDUSKY, OHIO.  AT THE AGE OF NINE WE MOVED TO THE MARBLEHEAD PENISULAR.  I LEFT OHIO IN 1986 FOR COLORADO.  I SPENT 46 YEARS WORKING AS A MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST IN HOSPITALS AND REFERENCE LABORATORIES.  I RETIRED THIS MARCH FROM LABCORP AT THE AGE OF 66.   

  

I'M NOT PLANNING ON TAKING MY LAPTOP WITH ME SO MAY BE OUT OF TOUCH FOR A WHILE.  I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR.

Hello Oldies......

  • Becky, you are right, it feels like the "oldies board".  This board does move at a much slower pace so it is very easy to read :)
  • Sharon, hello dear, great seeing you drop by with a post.
  • Teresa, hello once again.  I know that you (and I) are going to change that image we see in the mirror, aren't we?
  • Carol, have a wonderful time in Arizona.  I find with exercise it's all or nothing with me.  I have found when I make it a priority in my life,irregardless of how much I ache or pain, I do it.  But when I slack off and keep pushing it to one side, it never gets done.  Unfortunately, I'm in the slacking off period right now.  I need to once again remind myself of all the great benefits of exercise and WANT to do it once again.

GOOD MORNING ALL

WELL TIME TO PUT THE NOSE BACK TO THE GRINDSTONE, BOTH AT WORK AND AT THE WEIGHT LOSS. 

 

BEEN WORKING HARD AT THE BOOK, AT THE JOURNALING AND HAVE I FOUND SOME DEFINITE TROUBLE AREAS THAT I NEED TO GET A GRIP ON AND FAST. 

 

I AM BACK TO WORK THE NEXT 3 NIGHTS SO I WILL CATCH UP WITH ALL ON FRIDAY

Newbie

I'd like to begin Dr. Phil's program. I had a paperback but can't seem to find it. I've done just about every program out. My latest is WW. I've only lost 9 lbs. in 18 weeks. I get so darn disgusted. I joined the gym, but I have not been going everyday due to work schedule and the distance to the gym. So, I ended that membership and joined a kickboxing class right here in town. I feel that if I don't go to the gym "everyday" I'm not 100% committed and that spirals into feeling like a failure and giving up. I currently weigh 166 and want to lose about 30 lbs. I work swing shift, I work weekends. When I do get a day off, it's to catch up on laundry etc. I know it sounds like alot of excuses, (which it is) but how do I put me first? I've been active for years, lifting weights, doing cardio etc. It wasn't till I hit menopause that I gained 20 lbs. in less than a year. I went from a size 8 to a 12 in 1 year. My eating is good, I get plenty of fruits and vegetables along with lean meats.I had my Thyroid checked also, it is ok. It has to be lack of exercise. Does that mean daily cardio? I was told to eliminate dairy and take a calcium supplement. I'm in information overload. I'd appreciate any and all advice.

YEPPERS, BUT THERE IS NOTHING AT WRONG WITH SLOWER OLDIES!!!  SO GLAD TO SEE YOU HERE TOO! 

 

BOY WHEN I SLACK OFF I FEEL MUCH WORSE THAN WHEN I'M PUSHING MYSELF. AND I AM SO SCARED THAT IF THAT EVER CHANGES I WILL REALLY BE IN TROUBLE! I HAD A RESPITORY INFECTION LAST WEEK AND DIDN'T GET TO EXERCISE. I THOUGHT I WOULD DIE YESTERDAY BUT I PUSHED THROUGH AND GOT MY 5 MILES IN AND WENT BACK TODAY ANDDID IT AGAIN.  I FEEL REALLY GOOD, JUST A LITTLE SORE.
