Wouldn't it be nice to form a group of friends, where religion doesn't matter, what size you are doesn't matter, what race you are is unimportant?  Where you can just be your TRUE self, no matter your income, your likes or dislikes.  A place where you can just "sit" and feel welcome.....and meet nice, down to earth, common sense folks.  Well, this is the place.

Let's make this an enjoyable chat board.  If you feel you have an "issue" with another member, please don't attack that person and use hurtful and hateful words, especially in front of other members.  Let's stay kind, like mature adults should do.   If an issue should arise, kindly ask that other member if you could share a word privately.  i.e...email or instant messaging.

Let's make this board a fun, free discussion on anything we so choose.  No debating, just sharing our thoughts and having good fun conversation about anything we want.  Good old fashioned front porch chatting!

Anyone welcome........

Amy

HI AMY

Well I finally found you!  First I tried by clicking on "Search Boards" and then put in FRONT PORT CHAT.......it came back saying they could not find it.   Then I put in your user name "Texasyall" and found where you had posted and then clicked on to one of your posts where it said Front Port Chat and finally found you.

How are your sweet children, keeping you busy I am sure.  I have a new G/S born on November 14th.  Because my DIL is not working and on maturnity leave I don't see my little G/D that much.  She is going through a stage (because of the baby I am sure) where she won't sleep over here anymore.......wants to be home with her mommy and daddy and baby brother.  My DIL goes back to work in October.

What have you been up to lately?

Hugs,

Shirley

WHAT BROUGHT ME TO THE BOARDS!!!!!?????????

Quote From: jettav

Gotta love those kids..............................

Today has been a wonderful day, a bit tiring but I did get a 2 hour nap in which was wonderful. Hubby finally was able to go to church with us, it has been almost two months since he has gotten to go cause of all the sickness but he is getting better, mainly a cough now and he has to change his eating habits, (Don't we all,LOLLLLLL).

Amy, I was telling my hubby about you, (nothing bad, All good, LOL) and he remembers reading some of your postings (and MINE) in the past and when I told him that we are friends, he's like HUH!!!!!! LOLLLLLLLLLL!  And he said, "How did that happen"? He basically said we were two peas in a pod,LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Isn't life funny? Honestly, though I love message boards as I wouldn't be on them if I didn't, but sometimes I do wonder if they were all that great of an invention but then on the other hand, I  think they have a way of making a person grow and appreciate their lives and circumstances better, you know what I mean?  Life isn't easy at times, but really, we can look at others and realize how good we really do have it and take the opportunity and pray and/or think of others, give advice, be a leaning post, whatever and then there are those times when we, (at least me) realize that not everyone sees the world as we do for whatever reason and that's ok too. We are all seperate individuals with seperate personalities but yet really, we all have basically the same goals in life, mainly to be happy and fullfilled, we just have to figure out how to get there. And how we do that, is not going to be the same as we all have a diffeent type of journey, all called LIFE but different routes................

Ok, now that I am sure I haven't made a lick of sense, I am gonna go fold some clothes, get some in the dryer and then who knows!  Every one is the home is sleeping, maybe I will go clean up the living room even though it is the girls mess, yep, got one big fort in my living room, EVERY single furniture pillow is used, maybe I will just go crawel into one of the holes called a door way and hybernate for the night, think any one will find me?

Hope every one is well. :)
Geesh, that's a hard question, I have absolutely NO clue. LOLLLLLL

And I am not exxagerating., Sometimes I have a brainless brain,LOL.

I do know that I spent the biggest part of my time on the parenting boards and a little on the debate boards. The parenting boards were ok most of the time, the debating, well, I have absolutely no desire to go there, such a  waste of time.

I like the chat boards, just where we can come and chat about life in general, and talk about my my family, (and hearing about other people's family) Love em to pieces and even though life isn't always perfect, and  I wonder why in the heck am I on this earth!  I know where my strength comes from and I know where my heart is and I love making friends, my hubby tells me I talk too much, what can I say?

Hi Amy

Hi amy, just wanted to pop in and say Hello and support your new board. I also have been coming to the boards for a long time. I think it's been two years now.

I first came to the Dr. Phil board looking to chat with anyone who had I.B.S, as I was suffering with it badly at the time and I was a big fan of Dr. Phil when he was on Oprah every Tues and then I watched alot when he got his own show, however I'm no longer a fan of Dr. Phil and I find his shows have taken on more of a Jerry Springer style approach (just my opinion). I am not coming to the boards very often anymore, but as you said, we met friends here, so I pop in occasionally to say "hello" to those friends and I consider you a good cyber friend, lol.

I've been doing GREAT in my family life. Troy got a portrait tattoo of me on his arm for Valentines day with my name underneath it and I felt so honored that he would want to do that.

I have been a vegetarian since Sept. and am blissfully happy with all the changes I have made and all the new things I have learned. I discovered soem new books and I love them and have bought my own copies since. I'd like to share them with you all.

Fit for life (the origonal)

Fit for life 2

Fit for life (a new beginning) All books are by Harvey Diamond. If any of you have a fear of cancer, Fit for life (a new beginning) is a great read. I know longer fear it at all.

I also bought the DVD they talked about on Oprah called "The secret" and I loved that as well. It sure is great if you want to start thinking positive and make great changes to your life. If you have any negative talking people in your family, it's a great gift to both them and you, lol.

My girls are doing great. 12 and 5 now. we are still home schooling and have adjusted to a lifestyle that really suits us. My oldest went to her first dance at the Y.M.C.A and she had a great time. Time sure goes fast in mommy land.

Have a great night everyone,

Sherrilynn

HI LISA

Quote From: extexan36

I bought the weight loss book and then logged in.  Met some great people, unfortunately time restraints stop me from being here that often anymore. However, the weight loss is getting better.  Not much of a fan anymore of Dr. Phil, sorry I probably shouldn't say that here, but i got bored with it, plus time issues.

Hope your board gets hopping Amy, can't make many promises if I will get here that often or not, not enough hours in the day anymore.

Good luck,

lisa, your old texas pal

LISA - Know you are very, very busy with your studies but so nice that you dropped in on Amy's board.  Think this board will be a great place to have a "Front Porch Chat" about all sorts of things.  So happy that things are going so well for you with your studies (and that your weight loss is getting better) .......... how much longer do you have...........another 2 years?

Keep well and we are thinking of you.

Knuffels,  (this means hugs in Dutch for all other readers)

SHERRI -  Nice to see you here........lovely to hear about your girls.  Can't believe that Dana was out to a dance.........my time flies.

I also have the secret as a friend gave it to me for a gift........I have been following many of their suggestions for years and it does work.

Have to dash now as I am having some tests at the doctors today this afternoon and still have to take a bath and wash my hair, etc. etc.

Take care.

Shirley

JETTAV - Thanks sweetie for showing me this gorgeous picture in a larger size.........what a doll..........and she is now 6 years old, and a lot of fun I bet.    I got quite a laugh as I must have been having a senior's moment with these old eyes as I thought your hand was the back of a baby's head.   There are days I make myself laugh.   lol  lol

You have a wonderful day.

AMY - I sure hope that it isn't going to be serious........not sure if they will tell me anything today.   I had an EKG last week and am having a chest X-ray and stress test today.

Thanks for asking, sweetie.

Hugs,

Shirley

Will be praying and thinking of you. Hope all goes well.
