Two Hollywood stars, two incredible sagas that have captivated the nation. Dr. Phil takes you inside the drama surrounding Anna Nicole Smith and Britney Spears. Anna Nicole’s story is one of the most bizarre celebrity cases with unbelievable twists and turns: a beautiful but troubled model, a headline-grabbing pregnancy, the shocking death of her beloved son … culminating in the actress’s untimely demise. Pat O’Brien, host of The Insider, has known Anna Nicole for eight years and shares what it was like spending time with her during her last days. Next up, Alex Goen, CEO of Trimspa, weighs in on the death of his company’s spokesperson. Then, some argue that Britney Spears’ recent behavior—leaving rehab after one day, shaving her head bald, and angrily brandishing an umbrella—indicates that the pop star is in a tragic downward spiral. Frank Griffin, a celebrity photographer, has captured Britney’s public pain through his lens. Are the paparazzi partially responsible for driving this young star to the brink?  Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

How About That

Quote From: blprteys

I am so sick of seeing these two.  Who cares what they do or don't do!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am sure there are alot better topics out there to do a show on.
Of all the posts on this board, you may be making the most key point of all.  I'd rather see Dr. Phil do a show about the problems our troops have when returning from Iraq.  I personally think they are mush more worthy of air time.

I have had quite enough of these two stories. How did we all lose touch with the important people and happenings in our lives to have to live vicariously through the tabloid medium. This just proves that, even in death, there is no dignity left. I would rather participate in life than view someone elses horror. If we were all less interested in the tabloid rags, maybe Princess Diana would still be alive and enjoying her children. Shame on us and the people who make their livings by stalking and exploiting these people. Enough of poor Anna, Britney, Lindsey and Paris. If I never heard anything about these people it would be too soon.
I do believe you have hit the nail on the head.  Tabloid journalism flourishes because we, as a society, love it.  Like you, I say enough!

The paparazzi is extremely wrong.  Who cares if Brittany  dont wear underwear,  I dont either.  Leave these people alone.  They are individuals like you and me.  They deserve privacy.  We all have ours.

Thank you

Sonya

IS PAPARAZZI NOT A NEW WORDING FOR PERVERT WITH A CAMERA? I DO THINK SO.

03/05 Anna and Britney: Behind the Headlines

All you have to do is catch the promos for the shows such as ET and Inside Edition (they usually run on the 6PM local newscasts) or let your eyes rest on a magazine rack at the checkout in your local grocery or big-box retailer to be aware of the notoriety of Britney, AN, et al. You'd almost have to have been living under a rock for the last 15 years not to know who either of these women is.

Unfortunately, the line has been blurred between the public/private lives of celebs, owing to a 24/7 entertainment news cycle...it's no longer just weekly gossip columns in a newspaper, or even a tabloid or 2, plus People magazine. To a certain extent, these folks have put themselves out in the public eye, so maybe their private lives get more "news" coverage than they should. [I can remember about 15 or 20 years ago Ted Koppel bemoaning the "Vanna-ization" (his term) of our society; it's only gotten more pronounced. Beyond a certain point, however, I agree with you, Britney's rehab and the fight over AN's daughter (e.g.) deserve to be left out of the public square.

That said, I sincerely hope that this show is more than just more of the same sensationalism that we've seen already.

I feel that the paparazzi go way beyond what they used to.  I feel that they intrude way to much into peoples lives, and yes they are people.  They may have celebrity status, but they are still people who deserve privacy.  There need to be laws passed for people who intrude on others like that.  I really liked Anna Nicole Smith, and I think that people liked her because she was just an average person who became a celebrity.  I'm glad she is resting now next to her son.  As for Brittany I hope she gets better too.  Maybe she'll rise above this and come back stronger than ever with a new attitude and everything.

sad and alone

I think that these two women were very strong at the begining of their respective careers but somewhere along the way they were mislead.  I do not know what goes on behind closed doors nor will I pretend that it is not intriguing and I do watch but I try to take what is being "reported" with a grain of salt because we really have no idea what goes on.  My opinion is that Brittney needs people in her life that truely love and care for her and are not afraid to tell her the God's honest truth wheather it hurts or not, she needs someone like Dr. Phil to tell her like it is and ask her his most famous question "How's that working for you?"

Anna

I was not surprised to hear that Anna had died, not because of any particular reason, but more because how on earth was she supposed to go on and function given the circumstances. I truly believe her heart broke and that her daughter will probably have to spend a better part of her life understanding that.

Regarding her mother, I thought it was horrible that she would let Anna's body deteriorate while filing motions to bury her in Texas. I think it was the truest example of what kind of a mother she was and why Anna stayed so far away from her.

As for Howard K. Stearn, only time will tell. I would like to believe he loved her for who she was because Anna wanted to be loved more than anything.

Now I'm wondering about myself.

I think it would be a great topic for a show about the problems our troops have after they get back home. In fact I have seen some shows on that topic. But, I find myself glued to ET, Access Hollywood, Inside Edition,etc...I find myself entertained and interested in the stories. I don't envy them, I don't want to be them, I have empathy for them,it's not that I'm bored with my life. I DO watch a lot of t.v. Should I feel differently than I do? Does it say something about me that I don't recognize in myself.Help me,flrat69.(Seriously)
