The 2002 Christmas Eve disappearance of Laci Peterson and her unborn son, Conner, caught the attention of the nation and started a massive search for the beautiful pregnant wife. But as the case unfolded, the obsession with this story turned into outrage. Ultimately, 12 jurors not only found Scott Peterson guilty of killing his wife and his unborn child, they unanimously voted that he be put to death by lethal injection. For nearly six months the jurors submersed themselves in a case of cold-blooded murder; and now, in a daytime exclusive, they join Dr. Phil to tell their incredible story. The graphic photos shown in court of what was left of Laci and her unborn child, Conner, are so haunting that they have been forever sealed -- never to be shown to the public. Could what the jurors saw have been traumatic enough to scar them forever? Then, one of these jurors did the unimaginable. After sentencing Scott Peterson to death, she became his pen pal. Find out what his letters revealed to her.  Next, after taking six months away from their lives for the trial, some of the jurors emerged only to face death threats. One received a menacing letter which he never opened. Will he break the seal for Dr. Phil? Join the discussion!

Find out what happened on the show.

horrified, upset

I understand that Richelle has been traumatized and I'm sorry  for her pain. Forgive me, but it makes me very angry to find out she was writing to Scott. I think it was selfish and foolish on her part to start contact with him. She didn't stop to think that she could be jeopardizing the conviction, her safety or the safety of the other jurors.

She was upset, so she contacted him. That's what I got from the show. She should've turned to counseling or any other means of support.

I care!!!

Lacy Peterson was not the only person who has been murdered in thsi country and she will not be the last!  Why oh why did we then, and do we now, give her so much coverage?!?!  Is is because she was white, middle class, surburban, desperate housewife?!  Of course it is!  If she had been hispanic, black, asian, etc., of a poor background no one would have given her a second glance!  (By the way, I am white, middle-class).   Do I believe Scott Peterson is guilty - I have my doubts!   If Scott Peterson had been so careful not to be caught, why would he have admitted to being at the marina where coincidentially her body would be found months later?   Maybe his little road ***** Amber Frey was so angry when Scott confessed he was married that she killed, or had someone kill, Lacy then after finding out where Scott had been that day have Lacy's body conveniently thrown in the bay at the very same location where Scott had been.   She could have enacted revenge on both parties at the same time.

Anyway, can we put this case away and wait for the 'Next Big Thing' to come along?!?!  Good grief I am sick of seeing this story everywhere you go!

I care that this woman and her child was murdered and I think that there should have been coverage on her and Conner. I also care about all the other women and their children that are murdered each year. I know that right around the time Laci died a beautiful African -American lady was murder also and there was no coverage on her death. What a shame that the media does seem to chose white middle class people in the news coverage. This lady was just as beautiful and her life was worth just as much as Laci's and it is ashame that I don't even remember her name. I think what happen with Lacii and Conner case was that it is hard for people, especially woman to understand how someone could kill a pregnant lady who was so far along in her pregnancy.

It wasn't because Laci Peterson was a white, middle class, suburban desperate housewife. It was because she was pregnant and there were two people killed here -- Not just one. It has gotten so much attention that the President himself signed in a law called the Laci Peterson Law that if a pregnant woman is murdered, the murderer will be convicted of 2 murders instead of just one. This story is history. Had it happened to a black, hispanic, asian, or a green, orange, or yellow person, it would've gotten the same amount of attention. Get with the program. There are not prejudices here in America anymore. Get Over IT!!!!

Scott is getting what he deserves!

I cannot believe these jurors are getting death threats because they found that monster guilty!! What kind of physchopath would have sympathy for him??  How could you have sympathy for anyone that has murdered someone let alone their own child and the mother of their child!!

I was 6 months pregnant with my first child when Laci and conner went missing and I sat endless days in front of the tv sobbing and praying for the safe return of a woman and child I had never met. . I feel for the jurors that had to listen to every horrible detail and see all of those terrible photos but just think how Sharon and the rest of Laci's family felt to see their loved ones in those photos. I cannot imagine to go through the horror they have lived through.  Laci's and Conner's family will always be in my prayers and my heart goes out to them.  I like to think that Laci is in heaven rockin her sweet sweet baby boy in her arms. They will forever be together and are at peace with the lord. I can't say that anything good has come from this tragedy however Conner's Law is something important that has been a result of this tragedy.

As for Mrs. Peterson (Scott's mother) how could you sit by and defend him I know that is her son but come on look at all the evidence no matter how circumstantial they say it is I think it is very clear that Scott is guilty.  Get a clue he ever told Amber Fry that his wife had died and he was widowed that is not just a coincidence.

I believe Richelle was seeing a therapist, and that therapist recommended she write SP in order to find some closure.

I served on a major murder trial as a juror. Two community police officers who were well known and loved were killed in broad daylight .It was a whole summer in the courtroom with escorts where ever we went ,even the bathroom.  There were death threats against us but they never told us during the trial. The graphic photosof heads blown to bits, blood stained vests and sunglasses, etc.are still sharp in my head after 15 years. The looks from the defendant bearing down on me and his eyes I still remember.  The sea of blue uniforms all around the walls of the courtroom as the verdict was read I remember. The defendant is on death row today. It was not an easy task for the jurors to make such a decision . It was not easy to leave that courtroom escorted out because the cameras were in our face. One even put his camera in my car window. It was all very unnerving. To make that kind of verdict ... I live with it everyday and everytime there is a high profile case it is like bring up an old wound.

There are so many who make excuses why not to serve on a jury.  . Yes , it cost me money in lost business revenue and it cost me emotional drain, but I did my civic duty. The payback is knowing I didn't lie to get out of it .I admire and appreciate the jurors who are willing to due the same.

I served on a sexual assault case as a juror.  We jurors were not sequestered, but we spent the entire day together, guarded by courthouse personnel whenever we weren't in the jury box. You can't easily forget the awful testimony you are exposed to. It remained with me for a long time, and it was all I could think of and talk about for weeks after our verdict was rendered. I can't imagine how this jury coped for 6 months, unable to discuss anything with anyone for all that time until the case was handed over to them. They are to be commended,

He deserved what he gets.

I think the jurors did the correct thing when they sentenced him to death.  I do think lethal injection would be too good for him.  They should chop him up and throw him in the lake.  Do to him what he did to his wife and son.  I felt like my womb got ripped out when it became apparent to me that he killed his unborn son.  I can't imagine that  a person could do something so cold hearted.  But, hearing that this man showed no emotion when they showed the pictures of his wife in such a horrible state tells me that this man didn't care about killing her or his son.  He told his mistress that he wasn't married and to keep the mistress from discovering that he was married he killed his wife and son so he could keep this affair going.  But, unfortunately for him a woman who is pregnant that has come up missing gets a lot of attention.  This is where lying will get you.  If he just broke off his affair, or told her that he was married and willing to get a divorce then she would still be here on Earth holding her son.  But, I do look at it this way she is in heaven now, with the new body God has promised us all holding her son.

Why are you turning this into something racist? This case is so big because for one because Laci went missing on Christmas Eve and for two she was 8 months pregnant. I wouldn't have cared if she ugly and was purple I would have still been interested! And we give this case so much media converage because it is history have you not heard of Conner's Law? President Bush signed the law to where if you murder a pregnant woman you are charged with 2 counts not just one. And I don't know where you live but there is an African American pregnant female missing in Michigan now and it has been on the news. I don't live in Michigan but it has made news in my state.

This isn't the "Next Big Thing To Come Along" as you put it this is someones life that was taken away prematurely. I don't know if you have children but from a mother's  stand point this case is devastating to hear that anyone could do this to an expectant mother. Also, Amber Fry didn't know he was married she was told he was widowed she didn't know he was married until she saw him on tv and the media was talking about how his pregnant wife was missing.

The Jury

I'm glad Scott is going to be put to death. Lacy and conner will be able to rest in peace.

after Scott is put to death.  I think afterScott is put to death Lacy's family will be able to go on.
