We--as members of the Powerful Phil's Phormerly Phat Phabulous Phifties Phriends-- realize that in order to get our weight down and then keep it off, we must be vigilant about exercising as well as eating healthy. Andiepie

Andiepie, You are doing great with your workouts.  It is great that you like workout DVDs/videos.  They are great especially for the wintertime when the weather is not good to go out and get a workout in.  Take care! :) Bren

Thanks!  The trouble I'm having here is that in So. Cal. it's still too hot!  It was 98 degrees when I left work at 2:25 this afternoon.

I did 25 minutes of Denise Austin's "Anti-Aging Cardio Dance Workout".  Tomorrow evening I'll probably cool off while doing LS 3 mile at the cabin.

I'll post again by Monday at the latest.

/Friday & Saturday/

I got some major computer help from the high school's computer lab teacher, so I finally got on the new "BETA" board.  I'm still hoping this little board will continue to work because I understand posting here so much better.

I went to the cabin with my Mom, and while I was there, I did the LS 3 mile on both Friday and Saturday.  That's 45 minutes for each tape.

/Sunday & Monday/

The replacement video I ordered on Amazon.com arrived today, so I had a lot of fun doing Richard Simmons' "Disco Blast Off".  35 minutes was my total time.  Now that I've bought another copy, what will you bet I'll find the one I lost!

Sunday evening I did the LS 3 mile--total time was about 45 minutes.

/Found a good tape for my aching back days/

Turns out I already have it in my Richard Simmons' collection.  It's called "Tonin' Uptown", and as I was doing it tonight, I realized I could do a lot of it in my chair!  28 minutes tonight.

Love to all,

/Happy Healthy Birthday--year three/

Happy Healthy Birthday!

This is the happy healthy birthday card I wrote to myself to celebrate reaching my goal weight on October 22, 2005. I’m taking Dr. Phil’s on becoming your own best friend seriously.

For October 22, 2005–Hi, Andrea! (Andiepie’s real name) Happy 2nd birthday (meaning a second birthday date)! Happy healthy birthday! This card celebrates your birth as a healthy person! Your blood pressure is down! Your Cholesterol is down! Your blood sugar is down! You feel better all over!

It hasn’t been easy for you, I know. It’s taken much longer than you thought it would. Slow is not a BAD thing because taking it off slowly means you’re much more likely to KEEP it off. You’ve tried the fast ways. DIDN’T work, did it!

There were times when you came home SO TIRED from work that you didn’t think you had any energy left for exercise. You did your One Minute Challenge minutes anyway! You found that when you started an aerobics video for just ten minutes, you usually finished it.

You know you eat much healthier than you did. You read labels now. If you shouldn’t eat it, you pretty much don’t take it home.

You’ve reached your goal now. How are you going to keep it off? You’ll keep doing the things that helped you lose the weight: daily exercise and eating healthy. This has become a life style for you now.

There’s NO REASON to let yourself get heavy again. Keep weighing once a week. Use the souped -up routines that helped you get to your goal if your weight should start to creep up. (Richard Simmons and Dr. Phil both recommend a five pound leeway.) Keep moving!

I’m proud of you! Love from Andrea (Your new best friend)

/I've started a new "Phil to the 7th Power"...

on the new board, and I'll be the first to admit I'm still getting used to using the new board.  Will probably continue to post here, too, until they archive all of this.

Haven't exercised yet, but I promise I will.

Love to all,

Andiepie17

I just popped over here from the new boards to see if you gals were still posting here or not.

This Richard Simmons "Tonin' Uptown".....is that on DVD or on VHS. I am wondering because I have so much trouble with my hips that I just can't do a ton of exercise at one time, but you mention that you could do a lot of it in your chair.......maybe that might be my answer. I have to get moving.

Noticed that you found Phil to the 7th Power on the new boards too. I really think you will find it fairly easy to navigate around the new boards once you give it a good try. I understand that these boards are going to be shut down and archived sometime in the future....just not sure when.

Hugs, Marion

Thanks so much for starting "Phil to the 7th" on the Beta board.

My "Tonin' Downtown" is a VHS tape.  Richard Simmons has his own web site--with a "store" in it.  So maybe it is available in dvd.

Thanks so much again for all the work you did transferring "Phil to the 7th" over to the new board.  I'm hope I'll get as used to the new format as I am to this one.
