This is a place to talk/debate about homosexuality in general. Not just in the context of Gay Marriage, although that topic is welcomed here.

What do you think about homosexuality?

Sin, not a sin? Choice, not a choice? Should they be allowed to marry or not? Gays in the military or not? Is sexuality in neat categories or is it a spectrum? Should genetics be used in the future, if possible, to change a person's sexuality? Bisexuality, a trend, an actual sexual orientation, or just confusion?

Have an interesting article on homosexuality? Post it!

Well I don't think that gays can't do anymore harm to marriage than us heteros.  Sorry but I don't I think that gay couples who have together longer than most  "normal" (what is normal)  married couples.  They have a right to get married and i know that I will vote that way.  I just get why some have to be in everyones business ok so your faith says it's not ok.  well mine says that it is ok. So why is your faith more important than mine?

Also I look couples like the women from todays show and think people are fighting to try and keep marriage like this.  I don't get it.  Then I look at one of my closest friends and I am sad for him.  He would love to get married and have children, but the law won't let him get married.  why because he loves another man.  I don't get what is wrong with that.  I mean I remember growing up thinking that marriage was about love and that you got married when you you loved someone and wanted to share your life with them.  So why not let them what harm is it doing to you.  You don't need to know what is going on in there home or anyones else's take care of your own.

I hate to think that these same people would deny there own children the right to get married because they are gay.  I am not saying that they have to be religious services but they have the right none the less.  Just like they have the right to adopt too.

Good morning MIM...

Salt was once considered very valuable...it could even be used like money.

If we are the salt of the earth...it's like saying the good deeds we do is as good as money...gold...

For example, Mother Teresa...poor as poor as could be...but you couldn't miss her light...but her work was more precious than gold.

Salt was used as money once?  Didnt know that!

In the passage which was quoted, it spoke about knowing how the world looked upon sin?  How can anyone person know what goes on inside every other persons mind?  (Not to mention heart)

Does it REALLY mean looking at how a person acts and NOT what they think and is just a poor choice of words?

Ok... I wont ask any other religous q's getting all off topic.  LOL  It was brought up and I had questions.   Sorry!    tehe   ;)

p.s.  Thanks for answering!

No one can look into a person's heart and mind...for sure, that's God's work.

Here is the NAB version...I'm not sure what you mean?

13 11 12 "You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. 14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. 16 Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.

gay marriage is not about beliefs it is about basic human rights.  and they have a right to get married no matter what your or my faith is or the person next doors is.  But they have the right to be married too.  I don't see how someone elses swxuality is affecting you and your home.

On a side note I hate the militaries don't ask, don't tell policy what does that have with defending our country.  they are still a soldier.

So, you believe your religion should be the law.

Cheryl...I am with Julie here 100%.  If only, if only you admitted you believed your religious views should be law, everyone would be off your back!

Really...there is NOTHING WRONG with admitting this.  You want your religious beliefs to be LAW.

Right...wrong...if you admit this, then no one would be hounding you.  Like Julie said, you would OWN it.

But...what if, those crazy power hungry Catholics flexed their political power once again.  (AND...if WE DID...it SO wouldn't be pretty...the world is crawling with us.  LOL)

Surely, you would be rather peeved.
