/Some people say..."

The last twenty pounds are just vanity pounds."  I disagree.  Having lost almost 20 pounds now, I feel better.  I can exercise longer.  My cholesterol's down.  My blood sugar's down.  Twenty pounds can and DOES make a difference in how we feel, and how we feel about ourselves!

/I'd hate to see us lose this board,...

so I'm hoping any of you who might be lurking will post.  Whether you're on your last twenty, or want to start losing 20, I hope you'll post with your advice and/or experiences.  That last twenty can be hard to lose without help!

I feel so hungry!

Hi, I am 15 pounds overweight and I am trying to take it off.  I was not overweight in my 20s, but now that I am in my 30s I am!  The only problem is I go through periods of extreme hunger while trying to lose weight.  I got up in the middle of the night to eat a healthy snack because I was just so hungry!  This often discourages me and I started eating generously again.  I know my portion sizes are out of whack, but my question is how can I eat properly without feeling like I'm constantly starving or depriving myself?!  Thanks so much!

/Yahoo!/

Hi, phriends!

Scale says 125.5!  I'm only a half pound from my "get real" weight!  I'm so excited!

P.S.  You'll be seeing me continue to post because I KNOW the only way to keep the weight off is eating healthy and exercising.  I'm a lot more likely to do that with phriends to report to online!  Don't forget if you need the help doing exercising that "Phil to the 7th Power Exercise Board" is still "alive and kickin'"!  They sure have helped me!!

Hi!

I understand that well.  As to middle of the night hungries, how about stocking up on stuff you CAN have--fruit perhaps or a good cold cereal with no fat milk.  There ARE ways around this.

Hi!

Posting your weight IS a good idea.  Also, two things work for me: 1) keeping track of my weight on my calendar, and 2) putting a star sticker on the calendar for each day I exercise.

Hi All

Andie pie good to see you here......thanks for the pep talk on losing the last 20 lbs......I actually have about 15 pounds left to go and having a tough time. Especially with physical limitiation of back problems just seem to have issues with getting a lot of IE in......however, I'm still working on it.

Like the rest of you I do get hungry at night and have been having a bowl of high fiber cereal with skim milk......I really think this is due to the fact that our dinner time is so sporatic and I'm not eating a salad at dinner time either which would help round out the meals when I do eat.

Will continue to stay motivated instead of staying at this 147-148 range.......really would like to get down in the 130's as I think I'd feel much better too and have more energy.

Everybuddy keep up the good work

I need a hug!

Hi, Phriends!

Well, I was within a 1/2 pound of goal weight, but I gained 1/2 pound instead.  Drat!  I'm upset with myself.  I tell myself that I've come along way.  My calendar from last year reminds me that even though I gained a half pound this week, I've LOST 14.5 pounds since a year ago.  It's a good thing I kept last year's calendar, huh.

I can do this, right?  (((((I need at least one, so I'll hug myself.))))

Thanks for reading this, and your sympathy.
