Hi, Phriends!

Well, I was within a 1/2 pound of goal weight, but I gained 1/2 pound instead.  Drat!  I'm upset with myself.  I tell myself that I've come along way.  My calendar from last year reminds me that even though I gained a half pound this week, I've LOST 14.5 pounds since a year ago.  It's a good thing I kept last year's calendar, huh.

I can do this, right?  (((((I need at least one, so I'll hug myself.))))

Thanks for reading this, and your sympathy.

chilly,

Thanks,, Chilly!  I'll admit it's harder to keep myself motivated over the weekend.  That's because I'm not on my Monday - Friday routine.  I'll be watching  60 Minutes with my dear Mom; when I get home, I'll at least do my 12 OMC minutes and 16 squats.

My back is really bothering me, too, today.  I really need to get down on the carpet and do some stretches.

Thanks for all the encouragement you give: I hope I'm as good at giving it to you.

Hello

Hey we were watching 60 min and Dateline at the same time!!!   You know the routine.....switching between the two channels....... Do you and your mom live together?  Yes, it's best not to aggravate the back and stretch it out. I wanted to do some IE yesterday but I figured I better cool it. Just too much bending over and reaching to set those banquet tables that seat 8.....by the time I got through I was in a lot of pain and my left arm/hand going numb. Not a lot of fun.

Too much eating out this weekend and the scales going in the other direction so I'll have to be very careful since the IE I'm doing isn't enough. I know I should try to push to 1 1/2 hrs even if I split it in two shifts........if my back cooperates that's what I'll try this week and perhaps dropping back to RSP might help too we'll see about that. Hang in there and do those stretches they sure help.

Hi, Chilly!

That's a good guess, m'dear!  But Mom and I actually live about a block apart.  I don't switch channels because the remote's in her hand.  But when I'm at home, I do channel surf between whatever i'm watching and the "NASA" channel.

I'm not too happy with myself right now...let that half pound slip away from me.  Well, old habits die hard.  I'd sure rather weigh what I do right now than be back at 177!  I guess I'd better get back to work.

See "Phil to the 7th" for the changes I've decided on in my exercise routine to hopefully still be losing weight but not having the back scream at me as much.

Thanks for being such a great pal!

/The last few pounds/

They sure come off slow.  I felt discouraged earlier today because I came so close, but then got off track.  I'm talking to myself as I'm talking to all us twenty or under-ers.  IF this was easy, there wouldn't be so many people who "just need to lose" 20, 15, 10, 5, ect...., and they've needed to lose those remaining pounds for a long time.

We're well on our way to success.  We (meaning "I") need to keep doing (or go back to doing) the same things that have helped us so far--eating healt hy, watching those portions, exercising daily.  If we (meaning "I") let things slide as this point, we'll go back into the bad habits that did us in to begin with.

I made up my mind a long time ago when I started the Dr. Phil weigh loss system that THIS would be the LAST time I was going to NEED to lose weight.  Do I really want to see all that hard work be for nothing?  I'm going to re-start myself with a healthy lunch at the salad bar.  I'm going to go home and start my exercising by trying to put a little more enthusiasm into each video...not let my mind go in to "auto pilot".  I owe myself this!

Thanks for listening to me talk to myself.

I hear you missy. It is much easier to maintain then have to lose all this weight again. Of course I'm still working on the last 15 lbs I want to lose. I'll get there. I've been real good since the weekend free for all and have worked out real good the last two days and been careful with my food so I'm back down to 147.......so I'm pushing to get down to at least 140.  Working on the next 7 lbs to lose.

Yeap a conscious effort to increase the IE but not mess my back up.....just means I'm hopping on the recumbent bike later in the day after I walk in the morning. Will do that every other day minimum and see if that helps.

Hang in there Andie. You've worked real hard to get where you are and I'm trying to get close to you weight wise that is ((((((((winking)))))

Glad we're together in this.  I did try another video last night: doing something different is good for me now and then.  Thanks for the encouragement: right now I sure need those kind words from you.

Update on Richard Simmons' radio show

I got another call from the assistant last night.  The time I will be on the phone with Richard has been changed to between 2 and 3 pm instead of at 2.  (Pacific Daylight TIme)  They want to make sure I'm home from church.
