Please tell me your secret of how you went down to 127.  I am 149 and trying to get to 125.  I keep going from 149 to 151 and down and up.  I want to try something new.  Please help me.  Thank you...R

Looks like you and I are close in weight. Andie pie is pretty consistent on IE....I'm still trying to catch up with her!  I seem to go from 147 to 149 and need to increase the IE a tad bit more. I'm trying to double up on IE 2 to 3 days a week. That means I do something extra like put in a tape in the late afternoon/evening or go for an additional walk. I have a recumbent bike so I've been trying that too this week. Just walking in the morning, using some hand weights before I go on a walk and then later in the day hopping on the recumbent bike and doing some extra IE. I'll be interested to see if that starts the scales going down.

Good luck and keep moving.

What I do when I get stuck on a "plateau" or do a lot of back and forthing on the scale is to add a few more minutes a day to using my wristband weights!  If you don't have any kind of weights, you can use cans--I'd recommend something like small Campbell's soup cans.   Let me know if this works for you.

Hi, Chilly!

That's a good guess, m'dear!  But Mom and I actually live about a block apart.  I don't switch channels because the remote's in her hand.  But when I'm at home, I do channel surf between whatever i'm watching and the "NASA" channel.

I'm not too happy with myself right now...let that half pound slip away from me.  Well, old habits die hard.  I'd sure rather weigh what I do right now than be back at 177!  I guess I'd better get back to work.

See "Phil to the 7th" for the changes I've decided on in my exercise routine to hopefully still be losing weight but not having the back scream at me as much.

Thanks for being such a great pal!

I was visiting other boards and saw your remarks about "Phil to the 7th" - but can't seem to find it.  Could you p-l-e-a-s-e please help me find it.  I know i.e. is important, and manage to do quite a bit, but thought there might be some ideas I could use.  I did see the Archived board, but can't find the new one.

Thanks for your help (I usually post to 1st Things 1st and Over 60's Boards).

Visiting to pick up ideas

I know I need to do something "more" to reach my goal.  Originally at my highest weight (180) I lost 30 pounds - then put back 25 (not a good idea).  Have been working for about 10 months and have gone from 175 to 156.8 with ultimate get real weight of 145.  I have been on a plateau for too long, probably 4 or 5 months, and that is more than just a plateau.  I'm stuck at the present time.  In addition, I was diagnosed with diabetes 2 yrs. ago, and have it under control with diet and exercise, no meds.  Further - I have scoliosis and does present some problems in being too active.  Just need to be careful and not over-do it.  Add the "age" factor, and it's going to be a challenge.  Just looking for some ideas from some of you who seem to be having success.  Thanks "in advance".

i.e.

Forgot to say - normally I had been walking 2 miles a day at the Community Center (counting laps) and thought I would increase it to 4 miles (adding 1/4 mile daily) - which produced a blister on my toe - which healed in about a week.  Then back went "out" and that has healed - and got flu - which I am now almost over (dh had it first and was so kind to share it with me - lol)  Maybe I have it all "out of my system" and can get back to work on i.e.

Hi andie

Yeap, I have added some more time each day but I cannot add the wristband weights. I do use the weights when I do LS 1 mile tape however I'm having a bit of a time with the back so I've cut that out.....seems like since I worked that humane society function and decorated a lot of tables which means bending over way too much that threw my back off kilter. Now I'm paying the price. So easing up a bit for a while.

Thanks for the advice.........I do have 1 lb hand weights too so when I can I'll use them when I'm riding the bike or doing the tapes.

Have a good weekend.

Good Morning

It's amazing what a little sleep can do to help you feel better.  And I slept all night through with just a couple of brief times of being awake.  Whew!

Majority of aches and pains have subsided, so my plan is to get out to the Center to walk first thing today.  Then do all the other stuff.  I'm only going to do one mile today and then increase it.  I think it has been about 3 weeks since I have been able to walk, maybe longer, since my back was out too, so even though I've been busy, it isn't enough to be of any benefit weight-wise.

Feel like I'm getting better with my flu, but not quite through with it, so will be sure I get enough water and fruit for snacks.  I'm sure sleep will help too.  This one is hanging on - and dh still is feeling it - he's better too but he has had it a week longer than I have.  Hope none of you get it.

Well, I'm off for breakfast and morning to-do things.  Have a great day.

Talking with Richard Simmons

Well, members of my family said I did real well on his on air interview with me yesterday on his radio show "Lighten Up", and  that I didn't seem nervous.  It all went by real fast.  I do remember him asking about my starting weight and my job here at the high school.  I told him my Mom was a real "cheer leader" for me, and he also spoke to her on the air.  This came as a real surprise to her, but I'd sort of set it up with his assistant Lou...really there was NO time to warn her.  :)   I didn't get that  satellite radio channel either, but two of my sisters were able to hear the interview because my precious daughter-in-law took her cell 'phone out to their van where they DO get this channel.    :) Andiepie17

I-E

I walked 1 mile and since then have been working in the kitchen (cleaned microwave, stove, sink and counters are shining, floor is mopped).

I'm going to have lunch and then get started on washing (more i.e. with up and down the stairs) and then clean off the patio (walnut tree leaves are falling - they come down first, then all the others will continue until Nov/Dec.)

I'm considerably better today, so hopefully it's only a matter of days and I'll be running up to speed.

See you all later.
