Working so hard and seeing no results

I have been working on the last 20 lbs for a good many of years now and seeing little to no results. I feel I have been working very hard at losing the weight for a long while, and then when I see no reults I find I lose a little hope for a bit. Then I get disappointed in myself for losing faith so I jump back on my path to trying to lose the weight. I have talked to physicians and dieticians regarding this issue with again the same little to no results. Can anyone help me in my quest to lose that last little bit of weight, but not by starving myself or doing a fad diet? Are there any effective suggestions? I need some assistance with this for my health and my line of work.

I have to make up my mind and really stick to my guns.  You don't think a little of this or that hurts but it does add up.

Are you able to exercise because that is what I see this year that has allowed me to gain.  I can't walk like I used to but I do get in the water and walk or use a glider to walk.

I avoid all whites, it isn't easy to give up all the comfort foods but if you just do this you will loes weight.  Whites are sugar and turn to fat.  So far it has been the only thing I can do and not cheat and loes weight.  I wish you luck and don't give up, just take normal helpings and cut back if you eat a lot.  Your tummy shrinks and you need less. I eat chicken and fish and some meats now and then.

I see why now but this new website will take a little getting used too!Well-I quit smoking in January of 2005 and gained a total of 19 pds and I know summer is not helping to get thje wieght off with all the BBQ's and Icecream etc...I do exercise 5 days a week but eating habits-vary right now. Really try to stick to eating right 90% of the time.I do know that not smoking is alot better for me but do not want to gain alot of weight either and I also know the weight doesn't come off overnight-even though I would really like it too! I also know that I have been doing really well with the weight but just really need to be a little more strict with myself!!Could use any support out there that I can get and will give any support to anyone out there that I can too!!!!Hope to hear some replies soon...Sheryl

I had quit too.

I gained also when I stopped smoking and now I am smoking but not as much.  It is a hard habit to stop and not eat more.

I am going to get rid of this if it is the last thing I do this year.  I have had it on for a year and I don't like it  I made up my mind I am going to do 20 min a day on my glider and hopefully that will bring it off and diet of course.

Good luck to you.

Lookiing for help

Hi!

I'm looking for somehelp on getting rid of the last five pounds!   I started out at 177 many years ago and have been gradually losing the rest.  My goal is 125.  I'm having lots of trouble getting the last five pounds off, and i'm wondering why I'll get down to 127.5 and find that the next week I'm back up to 129.5.  How can a person gain 2 pounds in a week?

I am careful about what I eat, and I do exercise every day.

I tell myself I should be HAPPY I'm within five pounds of my goal...instead of getting upset that it's taking such a long time.  It's not working.

I'm looking for advice and/or sympathy.

TRY INCREASING YOUR IE TO 90 MINS. A DAY. DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ALL AT ONCE. TRY IT FOR A WEEK AND REPORT BACK (((((((((SMILING)))))))))))))

20 lbs or less? Resolved to take it off?

I was stopping by to let you all know

we were thrown off track there for a bit---but we will be staring our discussions back up again.

On the board

We Don't Have To DO This Alone Anymore

Beginning Sept 8th

here are the basics for these discussions

we will be covering information from the UWS'7keys plus the UWS food guide.pretty much the same--but some might have the one book and not the other,

These will be all day discussions so anyone can join what ever your hours are at work etc--I don't feel setting a specific time is fair to all involved..So I want an open time frame for these discussions so everyone has a chance to participate IF they want to.

also wanted people to know--if you haven't had time to read the pages, you are still welcomed to be apart of the discussion--we can go threw the pages together if you like.

All are welcome to post about other subjects as well on the discussion days---please don't stay away on those days---because you don't want to join in the discussions.

No-one will be ignored or left out ---

we can joke and laugh and make it a fun time as well.

thought we could start with:

chapter 4 pages 49-80 (UWS/7keys book)

chapter 4 pages--91-119 (mixed in there) in the UWS food guide overs some of this topic as well

Key to right Thinking

unlock the door to self control

this is an area alot of us on the boards are having troubles getting threw.

we may not cover the whole chapter in one discussion---there no rush--is there?

this is an important factor to our success and a difficult area to work threw as well.

everyone is welcome to come join in the discussions, hope to see you there.

DOWN 45 WITH 20 TO GO

The good news is my loss is stable, none of that going up and down, a pound here and there.

Now to get that last 20lbs out of my way!

I've made sooooo many changes and I'm beginning to think that I am overlooking something, that will help; kick start my losses into action again.

/The last twenty/

can be hard to get off, but when you get discouraged, think of how far you've come.  What I did this year was to keep last year's calendar under this years.  I record my weight at the end of each week, and when I start to feel like someone's nailed my scale to the same number, I look at how much I weighed last year and see how far I've come.
