(Original Air Date: 04/19/07) Some moms don’t want to grow up, and others don’t want to grow old. Dr. Phil talks to women walking on the wild side and tries to rein them back in! Aubrey says her sister, Elise, would rather drink and party every night than take care of her 8-year-old son. Their mom, Heidi, is raising Elise’s child and says Elise wants to be a parent only when it’s convenient for her. Elise promises her family that she’s going to change, but what will it take for her to get her act together? Dr. Phil has a shocking proposition for her. Then, Greg says his wife, Lisa, is obsessed with plastic surgery and worries that it’s becoming a disease. He says she works at a plastic surgeon’s office just to get a better deal on surgery. Lisa, 39, admits that she’s spent nearly $100,000 on cosmetic procedures so she can look as young as her 21-year-old daughter and wants even more work done. Can Greg convince his wife to stop going under the knife? Talk about the show here.

I see nothing wrong with moms wanting to feel young. Doesn't everyone want to feel that way....especially the older we get. But to what expense. When it starts effecting your family then its gone to far. You can still go out as a couple and on your own and have a good time without it effecting your family in a negative way. I just don't understand these women who have children when they really would rather not have them. Whether its out of a sense of obligation because they are female or family pressure, etc. It always seems to be the kids that pay the price.

 I want to address not the irresponsible mothers,but the plastic surgery. I believe some people just need a little perspective

 10 years ago i was in an accident that required reconstructive surgery. 2 surgeries a year which adds up to over 20 plastic surgeries. ( I am only 23 years old) I will never look the way I used to and I learned to be happy with myself. I have said over an over that I am done with surgery I am fine with how I look ..then I go to the appointments with the surgeons and find out  I don't have a choice, I have to have another one .  I can't imagine choosing to put myself through the pain, discomfort, and anxiety if I didn't have to. Not to mention putting my family and friends through the worry and hurt that watching their loved ones go through surgery and hoping and praying for the best.( I have almost died on the table during a "routine surgery" ). I think that these ladies need to do some soul searching and find their worth on the inside. To the husband, why not take down all the mirrors and force your wife to look around(at her home, husband and beautiful children) and see how beautiful her life really is?

all i can say is wow

first of all a mom going out and not taking care of their children is just well they dont deserve to have children.  children are little miracles and there are so many loving people who cant have children. a person should consider themselves lucky to have those blessings.  my children are my whole world.  everything i do is for them and everything i dont do is because of them.  i do not drink, i do not use drugs. there is no point in it.  my high is hearing my children say they love me and they want to be just like me when they grow up.  as for plastic surgery, how low does your self esteem have to be to spend that much money to make you feel good about yourself.  i feel guilty spending $30 to get my nails done.  the only way a person should get cosmetic surgery is if its life threatening or you have been involved in an accident of some sort.  be proud of how god made you.  and if nobody likes it then that is their problem.  have confidence in who you are.  i grew up extremely skinny and flat chested.  and yes boys made fun of me.  but then i found a man who loves every part of me and who i am.  and we have a perfectly happy marriage and wonderful children together.  some of my friends have had their breasts done and have always asked me why i havent done it.  and this is my reply....at least i know my man loves me for me.  he didnt fall in love with a fake person.  physically he is attracted to me, not to silicone.  i cannot imagine getting surgery to please one person.  if they dont like you then someone else will.

JUST AN OPINION

THE LADY RECEIVING ALL THE FACE LIFTS REMINDS ME OF SOMEONE JUST WANTING TO STAY PRETTY, LOOK WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ONES JUST WANTING TO LOSE WEIGHT AND STAY SLIM.  SHE NEEDS TO LOOK AHEAD BECAUSE NO MATTER WHAT, YOU WILL AGE AND THERE COMES A TIME WHEN YOU CAN NO LONGER RECEIVE THE FACE LIFTS.

I feel sorry for you Greg

I feel sorry for Greg; I would just walk out and forget about Lisa if I were he. Greg wake up, she don’t love, she’s in love with herself.  What I see here, Lisa is doing more to please herself and men other then you!  She wants to make sure that if you walk out on her it won’t take her long to replace you with some one younger.   

I can understand wanting to look nice for your husband, but surgery after surgery is not the way to do it.  Pretty soon Lisa is going to look at you Greg and tell you that you look to old for her, and you’re over weight, that she don’t want to be seen with you.  When she does, it’s going to be too late for you to go out and find some one new. 

 

How long before she ends up looking like Michael Jackson?

Why do we care about these drunk Moms?

This drunk wrecks cars, goes the wrong way on the Interstate, drives endlessly drunk etc. It's only a matter of time that she kills someone and/or an entire family! Why not just lock this woman up in prison (for all the things that she's done but wasn't caught and for all that she's going to continue to do, if we don't) and take her child away and put him up for adoption!! This kid doesn't deserve this! What's going to stop her in the future as he grows up from her turning him into her party animal buddy? Doing drugs, drinking, having sex etc. I've seen that happen too many times with Dads and Moms! Put her away now before she kills someone! As for her Mother? She aught to do time for enabling her daughter all of these years and not stepping in to be the voice of her grand-son! What's it going to take in order to make our streets and roads safer from this mustach drunk of a woman, who has thee audasity to sit there and cry for herself and make lying promises that she won't  follow through on, once she leaves the show? And that Dr. Phil gives her this generous offer? For all that she's done? ...... No! That's not right! That drunk doesn't deserve it; besides ...... she's not ready! You can see that. If she was truly ready to be rehabilitated, she'd walk into that Judge's chamber and tell him "put me in prison for the next seven years"! Then she can go on to rehab.

"BEFORE she looks overdone"?  I've got news, she ALREADY has that fake look.  She was much, much prettier in her wedding photo!  Stop it already, woman!!!

JUST MY OPINION

The lady name Lisa; thats getting all the cosmetic surgery she thinks she looks good getting all this stuff done. Doctor Phil showed her what that one lady looked like (the one that looked like a cat) Well I'm sorry she looks like that one girl muppet from the muppets (the one thats in the rock band with animal)

 

If I was Greg I would kick her to the curb, because your basically working to pay your wifes obession!! Just a thought!!

Beyond Obsesstion!

This middle-aged woman of 39 yrs. of age wants to compete with her 21 yr. old daughter for the guys ..... to see if she is still all that and as desireable. She really has a mental condition! I have a 31 yr. old daughter just like her! She can't go a day without focusing in on herself and her looks and her body and, and, and, ... me, me, me! As her Mother, I'm burnt out! She hasn't spent the money to date like Mrs. Peter Pan has .......... But, she's starting. I have no problem with people wanting plastic surgery for various reasons (I too want a few things done here 'n there, for medical reasons) But there comes a time when she is going to run into a disaster etc. or her husband is going to get fed-up listening to her self-lothing 'n walk. She needs to get it into her head, that she's getting older and is not going to look 21 the rest of her life. In another ten years, she's really going to make her husband feel real bad about himself! Is she that selfish not to see that coming? If anyone needs a few things nipped, tucked, clipped, snipped 'n sucked out ...... it's her hubby! (For health reasons).

In my personal opinion, Lisa is using Greg financially .......... Greg needs to start taking a real hard look at the entire situation and maybe take some of that money 'n get a few things of his own nipped, tucked 'n sucked out. It's only a matter of time that she leaves him for Mr. Sixpac Hottie (and who's allot younger then she is). It's really sad when women do this to guys ........

lisa! wake up!

I'm sorry but I don't look at Lisa and gasp at how young she looks, I look and her and think how pretty she would look if parts of her face weren't paralyzed. I admit that I'm only 26 and I'm not saying I wouldn't get a tune up if I thought I really needed it. That really isn't my point. My point is that she has let cosmetic surgery take over her whole identity, she seemingly tortures here family by constantly talking about it, and lets face it we can all tell who's been to the chop shop. The only people that you can't tell are the people that have had minimal procedures done.
So I make a plea to Lisa, quite while you are ahead and get a hobby. I think maybe doing some charity work and seeing that there is much more to life then how you look would do you soom good.
