The better question is how does all this cleaning make YOU feel? I have seen such an improvement in your attitude this week. You really are working on yourself and it shows!!! Keep it up we are all here cheering you on.

Hugs, Tracy

PS I am glad something I say can help you.

I tell you what, I feel great.  And dh actually helped me with the kids' rooms today.  I stopped being angry about his telling me he would help and then do nothing, and that really made a big difference in the amount of housework I've been able to accomplish this week.

I am no longer embarrassed to have someone knock on my door.  Granted, there is normal clutter there now, but it's normal everyday kid clutter!  Nothing so horribly hard to take care of.

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement, Tracy, and everyone else!

Hugs,

Tabitha

Key #3

Thanks for those who have been here today taking part in our discussion.  Wonderful comments, and have my mind going over what I've been doing lately, and it's no wonder I've been having trouble.

But on the other hand, someone also mentioned about how far we have come since starting on the program.

I said that I was going to work on "right thinking" and "impulse eating" today and so far it's been a great day.

This is where my "right thinking" has come in to play today, by cleaning out my cupboard of the junk when I did "binge" it was healthy foods, not saying what I'm doing is right, but it is a positive over the junk that I was consuming in the past.  "Impulse eating" now this is what I am working on because the junk isn't in my home, but at the grocery store or convenience store my impulse is to grab a bar, right thinking kicks in and tells me to put it back, I don't need it.

I have cleaned out my clothes closet and I remember when I first read about doing this I thought, nope this is one thing I am not doing, but when I got into the program I did exactly what the book said and it was a marvelous feeling, to let the big clothes go.  It really is a visual of how far I have come in this program.  Especially when I was able to give them to my friend (not that I was happy she was bigger than me, but because she could use them).

My work area has never been an eating environment, except for my snacks and lunch.  I do not bring junk to the office, cause I don't want anyone to see me eating junk (yep always was a closet eater, grew up as I child doing this).

Dh thinks its wonderful that there is no junk in our cupboard and he's always said if he wants it he'll buy it and eat it when he's out.

Does Grace like soup? make a homemade soup and cut up the veggies really small, my kids wouldn't eat veggies when they were little so I would make them soup and they loved it..Also add the veggies to other things like hamburger meat, you can shredd carrots and broccoli in it and they don't even know....if their is a will theirs a way.

She doesn't like meat either.  SOMETIMES she'll eat soup.  She's VERY fussy.  Though she LOVES fruit and yogurt thankfully.  And toast(ww or 12 grain of course).  Thanks though.  Maybe try the soup thing.

Help

I am having a hard time restarting on losing weight even though Medically I need to lose weight and have found out it isn't a physical reason.  I have read the 7 keys and I am still struggling.  I feel I get so obsessed with either with food or with losing weight and get so frustrated and burned out on it.  Anyone else having this problem?

The best advice I can give you is to take it slow.  Start with one thing at a time.  Do you exercise at all?  Have trouble getting enough water daily?  You can take it in small doses, like start exercising 3 times a week for 30 minutes.  Try making getting enough water daily.  Then move on to portion control and keeping healthy food in the house.  You don't have to master it all over night.  And no one expects you to.  I had a very hard time getting started, it took me six months to get serious and even read the book all the way through once.  I started out with exercise, cause that was something I never did.  Then I moved on to creating a no fail environment and working on portion control.  I took it one thing at a time.  Hope this helped some...

Hi EVERYONE

I'm so sorry I missed discussion day.  Like Tracy said, I had some very important personal business to take care of and I could not put it off.  It is so nice to be missd, however you all had a great discussion day without me.  I'm so impressed with the posts about Key 3.  Everyone provides such insight and great pointers to each other here.  That's what friendhsip and teamwork are all about.

To Sheryl - my deepest sympathies.  Times like this are never easy.  Just know that we all love and care about you deeply.

Big Group Hug with you all!

Sharon
