Quote From: caringsuzi

I woke this morning and lay there thinking of (MY CONTROL). Lois once said,"I may not be able to control many things in my life around me, but i sure can control what i put in my mouth".Wise woman...This really goes with my waking thoughts... As we loose weight.. Each pound is getting rid of fat and over weight.. BUT Yes.. I look at it too as getting rid of an emotional moment that i gave in.. gave my control over to a THOUGHT in my internal dialog..So with shedding the weight.. I am now looking at the scale and measuring tape as taking back my life from the evil thoughts in internal dialog..I forgive you (WHOEVER YOU ARE WHO HURT ME) I forgive you so you now have no further control over my thoughts or my life.. I am in control and i refuse to let you ruin the rest of my life!! MY life is mine and I choose to be happy and free.. Huge deep breath here.. Blow it out with all the evil that was taken in by whatever has harmed you in the past... Past is on the past.. With each pound and inch i loose.. I loose the potency of the harmful words and thoughts.. I am in control.. and guess what!! I forgive you so you can't hurt me any more.. It's a done deal..You can say what you want but i hold up a huge sign that says" IN THE PAST", begone.. I forgave you.. I step over you and I am in control now.. A new me free to loose weight and be happy.Loose inches and loose the entrapments and hurts..Shed off the pounds and regain your freedom. ..By saying Sorry.. you can't hurt me anymore.. I refuse to let you harm another second of my beautiful day.End of subject..These were my thoughts this am i wanted to share them with you as i found power in them. Hugs and much love for each of you! Suzi

Awesome message my friend!! I've read it and reread it and it sooooo needs to happen for all of us.  I have a bad habit of "revisiting" hurtful events in my mind sometimes, especially when I'm having a "blue" day and I've been working really hard at putting those in the past where they belong.  We can't change our past, but we can forge our future out of everything that we know to be good, and eating healthy and losing weight and getting into shape is so good!!  You/Lois are so right . .the one thing I can control I "had" lost control of, my weight! (actually I don't think it occurred to me that I could gain control of it because I just ate mindlessly)!  Notice I said "had" lost control of . .no more!!!  Only we can decide for ourselves that we are going to do this, take back our power, eat healthy and lose this weight and with a renewed focus, planning and the support we have at home and/or here in this circle of support, We are doing it!!!!!

Thank you for sharing Suzi,  awesome thoughts from an awesome woman!

Husband laid off over 1 year

Is there anyone out there who has experienced a long term laid off husband??  I need support from someone who has experienced something similar to my situation.  My husband was laid off May 2004 from a great paying job with great benefits of 20 years and hasn't been able to find a job that paid enough to support our family of 4 and I've been a stay at home mom for 10 years, so my skills are out-dated.  We tried to move to FL last year, because I did found a pretty good job there, however my son is in school in North Georgia and leaving him was very difficult for me.  Things at Christimas were reality bad, I was very unhappy and making everyone around me un-happy.  So we decided to move back to GA and my husband is back in college trying to get his teaching certificate and things on that front are looking good so far.  However I'm finding it hard to go back to work because of conflicting schedules with my husband and getting my daughter to and from school and with my lack of marketable skills it's looking like the only job I could find is cleaning houses which I don't mind doing but I'm trying to put my family first, as I always have.  I feel so lost and out of control and to make matters worst we are living in my husband parents basement trying to save as much money as possible.  The kids are doing ok so I'm alot happier back here than I was in FL.

But having a uncertain future and watching our saving go to pay our living expenses is making me very depressed.

I would love to have someone to talk to about this situation!  PLease e-mail me at lisadoss_2000@yahoo.com

Thanks

Lisa

HI ALL

What a beautiful morning we had here.  Bob and I grabbed a quick breakfast and took off for a ride in the Jeep - we won't talk about what it did to my hair - but oh well - it was great fun anyway!

Heather - I'm so glad you got some sleep.  Sounds like you're having a productive day!  I understand your BIL being interesting in quilting.  Bob made a quilt top many years ago and never finished the quilt - that will be one of my many next projects.  He also spent many hours in the fabric store with me helping me to find fabric for my quilt and also cut many of the pieces for me.  He may not try all the crafts, but he is fascinated by them all.  We can go to a craft store together and spend hours looking around.

Debbie - Thank you for the kind words about the quilt - Most I've seen have mostly pastel colors in them and I really love vibrant colors.  They say that if you make a quilt, you should make it the way you want it, so I am.  LOL!

Janet - Can't answer your question about how long it takes to make a quilt.  This is my first one and I wanted to do it all by hand - I tend to fight with sewing machines - LOL!  And, I've not worked on it every day, in fact, there were times when I would work on something else and let it sit for a few weeks.  Do take it easy on that ankle and enjoy your day today.

Joe - Yes, most quilters either put a name tag on their quilts with a date or embroider it on the quilt.

Cat - I'm so glad Hunter is doing a bit better.  It's always such a worry for us when the little ones are not well.  Hugs to you both - little Grace too!

Ladean - Hope you are enjoying your day out with hubby today - we always miss you on Sundays here.

BJ - It's so waonderful to have you back with us again!

Tracy - have fun with the kids today.  How is Kane doing?  I'm sure he is thrilled to have a family.

Sheryl - glad you got a bit more rest - you are one busy lady and still manage to take some time to post with us.  What a treasure you are!

Barbara - Such words of wisdom you bring to us.  And it just doesn't feel right when you aren't here posting with us each morning!

Connie - Happy belated Anniversary!  Don't overdo trying to catch up on your disaster - LOL!

Ellen - Hope you are here with us often!  Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Cathy - Tatting is a lost art - in fact many don't even know what it is or what it looks like.  I have several tatted doilies my mother made and they are priceless to me - even though I can tat and make my own.  I was taking a tour through an old home that had become a museum one day and there was a frame sitting on a table with a lock of hair that had been tatted.  The tour guide thought it had been crocheted, but we told her that it had been tatted so that she could explain to others taking the tour in the future.  I'm sure the embelishments your Mother made for your little dresses were made with much love.

Group Hug,

Sharon

My house was a disaster!!!! It still is. LOL I have petered out. I am going to do the dinner dishes and put away some laundry then off to watch a movie with the kids. I am sure that I will fall asleep. I opted to skip my nap today. The upstairs is done except for the computer room, that's my husbands mess and I am not going to clean it. I cleaned it two weeks ago and now it looks worse than it did when I cleaned it!!! Most of it is computer stuff. I know that I will end up putting it somewhere that he wont be able to find anything. Our computer has lost the Internet up there and now we are all fighting for computer time. LOL I think we are all addicted.

Hugs Heather
