Quote:When so much is at stake-your weight, your health, your self-esteem-You've got to do something about it. As I often say, life rewards action. You cannot passively place your health in the hands of your doctor and expect to be fixed like a car that needs a tune up. You have to take the initiative and follow through in order to get your weight back in line. I know that is a tall order, but I am letting you know without equivocation:that is exactly what you must do because of your weight, your health, and your very life depends on it.~~~~Dr Phil.

This paragraph really hit home for me, because my doctor told me I wouldn't live long enough to see my Grandchildren be bore if I didn't do something about my weight NOW.

Good Morning!

Hi everyone!

My 2 cents re the water: a year ago I would never have believed I'd be drinking 8 glasses a day with ease, so if you are just starting out and finding it difficult, work your way up to 8 glasses. In the beginning I had to plan when I would drink them to be sure to get them in. Also, in addition to what has been said about Crystal Lite - I think the same thing holds as for why we avoid diet soda - the artifical sweetener. I think it was mentioned here some time ago that "they" have now found that using artifical sweetener actually makes us crave sweets, plus there's the chemical side of it too.

Ch 11 was interesting. By paying attention I realized I'm not weight loss resistant, except in my mind!! All the while I was reading I was thinking of Teresa and the overwhelming tiredness she experienced.

I still have a lot of bookkeeping to get done today, so I'll check back in later.

Hugs

You can sell just about anything at all on EBAY. What you need is something that costs almost nothing and you can cell for about 10.00  With color copiers being of such high quality color copies of interesting things sells great. maps, pictures, old photos.

Grilled cheese sandwich with Mikey Mouse ears.  $10,000.

Heck if you lived in Hawaii you could sell beach sand in an attractive glass jar.  jar 50 cents, sand free, profit $9.50.

I've sold books on ebay. They sell just fine. All you need is to get the books, set up and auction, and mail the books. Go to a book sale where you can get them for .50 or 1 dollar and then sell them on ebay. Or just ask friends for donations.

I thought of selling seedlings from a famous tree. Just go pick up the seeds and started seedlings and then sell them on EBAY. Might be a famous hanging tree, or the oldest tree in Arkansas, or just an oak tree from a famous place. Oak tree seedling from Skyline Drive in VA. etc ...

You could get a color copy of some interesting document and then just copy the copy and sell it.

If you can come up with an interesting idea then it will sell on ebay. The auction ad is everything. Must look good to work.

You might say it is the idea, sentimentality, or connection to something famous that sells.

Say a photo of Bourbon Street as it was in 1999 before the hurricane hit.

You are limited by your imagination. Only it should be something that costs you nothing or very little.

Because you like art you could sell color copies of some of your work or someone elses. Color copies cost about $1 last time I checked.

Thanks Joe! Great ideas I appreciate it. I'm moving slow this morning so my brain is not percolating, but it was the first thought of my day....Have a fantastic day!...HeatherA

Good morning to everyone-- Have a great day.

Watch out for the long posts--- the Phil board (it seems to me)

is logging us off sooner than before-- I lost two posts.

What does everyone else think? It just made my day start out ugly.

Oh well I am off to the gym. That will cheer me up.

Love Mary

One thing I do when in doubt about getting logged off during a post or letter or whatever I'm doing where I know I have alot to say is, do it on a notepad, or wordpad, and then copy and paste. I never have the patience to re-write and it does indeed set ones nerves on edge!...Sorry that happened to you....Heres to the rest of the day being incredible like you!....HeatherA

Im here.. Chapter 11 helps****self taught been there!!

I wanted to share about ones who have a difficult time loosing weight.. Chapter 11..

I have been there..Lucky me had some of my meds changed and i am now loosing once again.. :)

Slow is better than non at all. If you are doing your absolute best to do the program then your doing all you can..

There may be a few more things you can try though.. Omit Beef as much as possible.. Increase fish and chicken and turkey and white pork.  Increase your salads, watch that white bread and use brown whole grain rice instead of the white instant that the shaft is missing along with all the goodness from it.  Use a measuring cup and make sure your not over eating..

exercise challenged> when you lay in bed  bend your knees and lay on your back .. Lift your bum off the bed and do counts of 10 start with 2 sets of 10 add up until you feel the burn(good for thighs, stomach, back, sides, buttocks,  easy .. you ON bed and safe, and it works,, Hold in those stomach muscles to really kick in a good exercise..

Try water (ONLY) dump all caffeine which holds on to weight and water retention..

Do your part and really see if you are resistant.. or are you just not doing all you can do? Hugs Suzi

Proud of Myself

Today I did 20 mins on the ellptical.  I'm really proud of myself for that.  I think doing it slower really helps.  It's a lot harder on the muscles but hey.....guess that can't really be too bad.  My totaly IE today has consisted of 20 mins cardio, ab workout, calve workout, and what I call the lovehandle workout.  Ended up being a total of about 30-40 mins of IE.  I am hoping to get another 15 mins in of cardio this afternoon but not sure if that will happen.  Had a good breakfast.  Ate less this morning. :)  I am about to finish my 3rd glass of water so I"m doing pretty good with that too.  I feel a lot better today but those hormones have got a hold on me.  One mintue I'm happy...the next I'm depressed.  I do have more energy today.  It's rainy outside but I feel a lot better today than I did yesterday.  Hope everyone is haveing a good day.
