Trying to Quit Smoking?

Quote From: scooby4_u2

I am just saying that you are doing a good job i wish my grandpa would have made that choise but keep up the good work!!!!!!!!

I am 12 years and i miss my grandpa so much!!

Good luck!!!!

Thank you for the compliment. Sorry about your grandpa. In reading this message board you can see that quitting smoking is something that is so hard, and if you "don't quit", the outcome is you will die!!! So don't ever start. I started on a "dare", worst mistake of my life. I now have one missing lung because of my smoking. Good luck to you in life, and learn from what your grandfather left you.

Linda

Seven months, four days, 12 hours, 15 minutes and 45 seconds. 5244 cigarettes not smoked, saving $991.16. Life saved: 2 weeks, 4 days, 5 hours, 0 minutes.

The little pill

I started smoking when I was 15 in a foster home another kid said try smokin it will help your nerves and it did after 23 years it just became my best friend it greeted me in the morning and said good night when I went to bed it never judged yelled criticized or any thing bad And that made me hang on to it even more My husband gave up pot 12 yrs ago to save our marriage and his health Then he quit smoking 3 yrs ago he hounded me to quit all the time and I resented him for it But my doctor told me that for me since I am a nervous type person that I should try a drug called Wellbutrin XL so I did you take it for 4 to 5 weeks and keep smoking then you pick a day and you quit I quit 10 days ago and so far I have had the strength to do the medicine has helped me to stay calm and helped the withdrawal and my mood It doesn't do it all but it helps What made me finally do was one day my youngest son was sitting beside me and he  said Moma you stink why do u smoke don't u know those things will kill u and if u die who will teach me how to be a good person when I grow up I went to bed and cried the next day I decided to quit and every day I hear my son's words and it gives me the strength to do You have to find something to give u the want to so bad that it over powers the cigs GOOD LUCK TO EVERY ONE

Rainy day

Hello to Everyone...

Thank you Linda for your positive thoughts!!!!! Wow what a meter reading you have going. I of course fell off the wagon again but am back on. For everyone out there....as Linda said...when you start smoking again it is even harder to quit the next time. It's like you don't have the same motivation you had the previous attempt.

The boys are doing really well. My oldest is in school now...he goes every afternoon. He is turning 4 on the 15th. My youngest turned one about a month ago. Time is flying by so quickly. I know that if I don't get a hold of the smoking again, time will shorten for me. What  a terrible addiction this is.

I am going to do it this time. Money is very short right now and I can not afford to spend $10 a pack, nor can my health afford it. Plus I am soooooo sick of it. Yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to spend a lot of time on the computer today and get my head on straight.

Nice to hear from you Linda.

Congratulations on making the best and smartest choice for you and you son. It is true that kids say the darndest things. You keep focusing on the goal and you will make it. Don't ever go back for the sake of your little one.

Have a nice day

You should talk to your doctor about a medicine called wellbutrin xl or one called zyban I am taking the wellbutrin xl and it helped a lot with nerves and being moody and it helped with not being so hungry I just put a piece of hard candy in my mouth when I want a cig and find something to do Its just a thought  Spice

PLEASE PICK ME

Quote From: cutekoala

I have a confession to make I have been trying to stop smoking for 7 years.  (I did stop when I was pregnant twice).   I go to bed each night thinking tomorrow I'm quiting   I even tried making a date for the end of the month but there is always an excuse.  Kids stressing me out. need a cigarette, husband lights up, need a cigarette.  Get bad news, need a cigarette.  Having a cuppa, need a cigarette.  Social drinking with friends, need a cigarette.  I could go on, on, on....... Actually I'm going for a cuppa now and a cigarette.   (I been on the computer for 5 hours without a cigarette)

Would anyone else like to pick a day it can even be after the new year - but we can start preparing now to stop, seriously stop, no more excuses.  If you are interested please contact me or leave reply.

I so would love a buddy to quit with.  I want to quit so bad, but because of other health problems (I have graves disease) I cannot take the inhaler, the welbutrin, the patches, I have to do it cold turkey.  I am trying to be so positive, but the odds are stacked against me.  I am a very strong person, with the stubborness of a mule, and I think if I could just talk to someone about it, I would be much better.

If you would like to enter into this with me, contact me.
