To all you wonderful quitters

Hey there,

Going thru this board, I realise you are all doing such a great job with getting smoke- free and staying that way...

Wow I was just blown away by all the support there is here. I am new here, you will notice and now that I have sorted the "losing weight thing," [ i am 5 kg to my goal after losing 40kg] I would very much like to sort the next thing ...namely, quitting the disgusting habit  of smoking.

Last week this was weighiing heavily on my mind...realised how addicted i am..found myself in a nasty situation of  running out of smokesand not having access to any  drove me straight into "psycho  mom  mode".... was actually a big wake-up call for me.

So any great suggestions on how to actually go about this would be very much appreciated...I smoke about  10 to 15 a day. Many thanx, till later then, keep up the awesome work.....

Toodles for now.

Pick a quit date?

Hi Everyone!

I guess everyone is really busy shopping and decorating for the holidays. It can be a wonderful time and it can be not so wonderful too.  With everything taking place, for all that are trying to quit, hold on, just take a few more deep breaths when you have that urge!!!! For the rest that are contemplating quitting, when you pick a quit date, let it be just that a quit date. Not a date like, January 1, too much emphasis  put on that date. Just a day when you feel you are prepared to get a hold of the addiction.  My day was March 30, nothing sufficient about that day, other than it is MY Quit day.

Touch base with whoever needs assurance in taking that step.

Hi Linda and everyone else, I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I have been very busy, with the holidays. Decorateing for the girls, no tree yet. I probably will get it around the 15th, then out it goes on the 26th. Between the cat, dog, and the girls, I am sure by then I will be quite tired of picking up the ornaments they all knock off the tree. Is everyone getting ready for Christmas?? Sometimes I wish they would ban it, it is so much work. Well, I am going to get going, keep in touch everyone. Hi Gina;

Congrats on your 3 months....great work and keep it up.  It really does get easier with time.  This time of the year is harder for we non smokers sometimes so hang in there!  Have a great day!

Just wanted to touch base with everyone.  Hope you are all well and smoke free!  I am still not, guess that is why I have let my part of the board die.  Maybe I will be back one day.  Congrats to all who are smoke free or at least trying!
