Hi Shelly

Quote From: mommacros

Thank you so much for the warm welcome back!!!

I haven't spoken with you for quite some time.  The boys are getting very big now. My house looks like a cyclone hit it!!! I can't keep up with them. I have decided that how tidy my house is right now is not important....that spending time with them and enjoying ourselves is more important, they will only be young once!!!! right.

I am having a very bad day today...the urge is quite strong. But I will get by it...Your stats are very impressive...I hope you don't remember what a strong urge feels like anymore... it gives me something to look forward to if the urges get weaker!!!

You and Aggie and Mario, should be so proud of yourselves....you guys did it, and overcame what can seem like an insurmountable hurdle.

Congrats

Shelly

P.S. today is my one week

Hey Shelly,

Well is baseball season behind you now? I know that was a rought time for you last year. Are you still working outside of the home?

Well you know pretty much what to do and what to expect. What are you using, the Zyban or Wellbrutrin, The patches or gum, or inhaler.  So glad you came back to join us. Right now I'm battling with weight, if that isn't training yourself with a new cup of tea. Not losing an ounce, but gaining steadly. Everyone else seems to come to grips with the weight after smoking. But my metaboboilism is on shut-down!!!!! If you have any suggestions about kicking some booty back in shape, let me know. Get rid of one bad habit and start another. go figure......

Hi Bam2468

Quote From: bam2468

Hi Linda,

I am going on my 5th day. Still going pretty good. I am still using the patch and finding taking really deep breathes of air instead of nicotine is helping getting through the urges of wanting to smoke. My husband has not stop smoking which is makes it a little hard for me when he is home. We were in the car together yesterday and he was smoking and the smoke was blowing in my face. I had asked him to please move his cigarette in which he did. His response to me was that I was doing so good that he didn't think that it would bother me. I guess he didn't realize because I am not a lunatic like I have been in the past times with quitting smoking. Which tells me that yeah I am definitely ready and will successfully do this. Oh and he isn't smoking around me anymore. I keep myself busy by playing with my kids before and after school. During the day gets kind of tough because I am home all day. I go for frequent walks and my house is spotless. Above all I feel really good about myself.

Linda you are a god send thanks again. You replied to my posting and your words stick with me. I think of you daily. The postings do really help. I had also read through other postings and saw how you recommended the silk quit website and I downloaded it.

Hi Beverly.

How's it coming along? Each day you get stronger, it's one less pack behind you, and one fresh breath in front of you. Hey that sounded pretty good. Has the hubby slacked up any in smoking or has he took it all outside. Well just wanted to touch base. Deep breaths when that urges hits, and let it out just like a drag off a cigarette.

What's Happening ?

Hi Everyone,

Getting a little quite on the board, hope everyone is holding together and not letting the cigarettes get the best of them.

Yesterday I had a friend of mine come  over and we were sitting outside enjoying a drink. When I remember that this person smokes. I offered to that person if you want to smoke, go ahead. And that person did light up a little later. The point of my story was now that it has been a year since I smoked "I feel like I never have smoked before". The smell of the cigarette was terribly, it was like an reenforcement thing. I felt so calm sitting and enjoying a drink, and  that habit is behind be now. Oh yes I get an urge ever so often, but that is far and in between, but a couple deep breaths takes care of that urge.

I just want keep encouraging you all to keeping trying, don't give up.

And the person smoking, I am working on to give it up.

Hi

How is everyone good I hope?

It has been 9 days for me and feeling great. I had an awful weekend. I went to the park on Friday to play with my children as I was playing tag once again. I lost my breathe oh it took so long to get it back thought I was gonna die. When I had actually got my breath back I went to walk I had got this sharp pain in my leg I looked at it and I must have gotten a blood clot in my leg or something I have this huge bruise looking thing on my leg. I will be going to the doctor today. I am so worried about what happened to my leg. Really has me nervous. The nerves I have right now usually I would be smoking double the amount. These health problems are a wake up call. So not even once have I thought of smoking. Just hating the smoking more. Oh and on Sunday I fell down the stairs all the way down on my back. It hurt like hell and cried like a baby. And then I laughed my ass off afterwords. I found it funny. I'm OK!

Thank you for the welcome....

Congratulations on your successful quit. This board is a god send to people needing support in their struggle to quit smoking. I have to say it helped me tremendously(sp) the last time. I am holding strong....but only but the smallest of threads.

I need as much help as possible. Unfortunately my husband, a non-smoker doesn't understand the intense pain on goes through when quitting smoking. He is not as helpful as I would like...but I know too that it is my struggle and not his.

I hope that this week goes better then your weekend and just think...your lung health can only get better!!!

Hi Beverly,

Whoa, you got some things going on. I use to get those sharp pains in my chest too, when I was doing something out of the ordinary. My guess on your legs is something they called fleabutious, I have a sister-n-law with that, and it is painful. I'm no doctor, just thinking of what it could be.

Then falling down the stairs, you where really lucky that you didn't break something, or hurt yourself really bad. It seems we have days that a wall will jump at in front of us..... But to laugh it off, good for you, make a bad situation something funny.

Reminds me of a time, when our daughter was  graduating from college. The morning of graduation, all the family, my ex, and my ex mother-n-law about 15 people, well coming down the steps, my foot slide on the edge of cement step, and bump, bump bump on my butt coming down to one of the stairways in the huge auditorium. I couldn't stop, till I got to the bottom about 5 or 6 cement steps. I couldn't feel no pain, I was soooooooo embarrassed, everybody comes running to you, are you alright, yes, yes yes, just thinking I must be getting older now I am falling, good thing I had on a pants set, instead of a dress. All these cute college kids everywhere, and there's  a little lady that fell in isle 4.  (ME, I was only 44).

Little later my butt was a little tender from going bump, bump, bump.  But all went well, and our daughter graduated with honors, with her bachelors. At the end of this month, she will be getting her masters. I'll be watching my footing.

Hope you are doing good on the smoking. Love your icon .
