Hi Rosalie

Congrats on wanting to try again! That would be great if you and Jewelly were able to quit at the same time. There is much love and support here. And lots and lots of inspiration. Quitting  is such a hard thing to do and stress is usually the number one reason we all go back to smoking. Finding a way to deal with the stress will help. And just saying N.O.P.E as my friend Linda has told me (not one puff ever). The breathing technique is wonderful. Much luck to you. Hope to hear from you soon.

Thank You

Thanks Linda and Beverly for your response.  It helps.  Today is the last day.  I will do it!  I will never, ever let stress get to me in that way again.  It is just not worth it.

Hi Linda,

Glad your doing well. My daughter 14 was looking over my shoulder when I was on this website and was reading some stuff. She is so proud of me and she was telling people of how I am encouraging others. Which I owe to you. You were the first person to respond to me and it honest to god really help me. I can't wait till I am where you are and feel like I was never a smoker. I tell myself that everyday. But I still have the urges, not as bad but I have them. I hope I don't loose my teeth with all the gum chewing. wink wink.

I wish you the best on your results. That is really terrific 2 1/2 years cancer free. Balloons off to you. I am glad your health is good. When you don't hear from someone in awhile you do get a little worried. Take care.

Hi Beverely,

It is a terrific feeling when our children are proud of us. In their growing up years we try to give them so much encouragement to set them forth in the world. And when we hear it from our children back it really makes our day, gives us that little extra boost. No doubt your daughter is so proud of her mom. A child can see our struggles when sometimes we think we have them covered up. It is not easy to quit a habit we have had for many years.

As I said to my son (he is 12) the struggle I have went through and the cancer, please don't ever pick them up. The cigarettes will put a hold you that is so hard to break. "No mom, I will not pick them up", he promises.

You are doing so gooooood, so proud of you. Your quit meter is just clicking away. Getting close to 6 weeks........way to go !!!!!

Got my cancer report back yesterday, cancer free, come back in 6 months. After the doctor tells me that, I do a few deep breathing exercises. Like a reward I give to myself. Of course I don't do that in front of him, he would probably wonder "what's going on with this lady, taking deep breaths and blowing out".

Well keep up the great work.

Hi Linda,

I am so happy to hear about your cancer free report. Way to go. I can just imagine the feeling you get each visit that you have and you get that cancer free report back.  I love how you use your experience and are helping others. You are just this great big light of inspiration.

How I hope our children will keep there promises to us and never ever pick those cigarettes up. My oldest who is 18, has told me how she had smoked a couple of times. I told her how I couldn't understand how she can do that when she has seen what a struggle it is for me. I even quit one Christmas for her. That was all she wanted for Christmas. She said that she promises she will never do it again. God I hope so.

Take care

Getting alittle Hard

Well it will have been 2months here soon. The last few days have been pretty rough. I have really been missing smoking. Just missing it. Little stress from the kids and things with life.  Been wanting to give up. I am finding cigarettes laying around my house left by my husband. Which is fine it really didn't bother me before, but past couple of days hmmm..been wanting to just grab one. I am staying strong and fighting through this temptation. I am sure it is quite normal. I will not give in to temptation. Going on two months and I will not throw that away. We will have hard days I suppose and will have to fight harder. Can't wait for it to pass. Hope everyone is doing good.

Hi Beverly,

Almost 2 months, Wow, that is awesome. You have the hardest in quitting pressure. A daily reminder. To come though in quitting one day, then one week, and to go on to one month. You are a strong person, but we all process a weak moment within. At this point you know it's mind control, of what it was with the nicotine. Then you have to stop for a second, and say N.O.P.E. , that one cigarette will put me over to the beginning again. The one thing I don't want to do is preach, you for sure have it under control. You know what triggers you. That little inner voice we have inside we so often don't want to listen to. But think about it after the fact.  Beverly, I am so proud of you, you have worked so hard, your inner voice is guiding you now.

How's is everything? I can't imagine your days in Canada. Here in Texas they have been so pleasant. With all the camps starting up, it one after another, (day camps).

Take care, I care
