Hi all

Just thought I would stop in and see what's going on.......I cant' believe the stuff that is going on in this world.  Makes you wonder what is next?

My quit day is getting closer and last night I was thinking about it and it really scared me.  It really does have to be done.  I really need to quit this stinking habit.

thanks for the update Leasa

glad to hear the report on your cousin..it must be so scary...prayers that she improves each day...I am not watching as much tv today.  I went out and went to Curves today, ran an errand and then went to my AlAnon meeting..I feel a little better..all this suffering surely makes my compassion surface...I thought today, what about the people that smoke..bet they are nuts..anyway, I hope and pray for the best for everyone and grateful we have this board..thanks Aggie for your concern over the situation here in America..it's nice to see other's respond to our pain from another country..I tell everyone all the time here, why do we rush to 'fix' other countries things, when we never get any offers of help..or very few anyway..I guess we just do things for the right reasons and that should be our reward , not expecting anything in return.  love to all, Ann

Don't know what to say...

Hi ya'll. How is everyone? I hope ok in the midst of the world's craziness. I just don't know what to think or say about LA and MS. It is awful and I am deeply saddened by it. About my cousin,....they operated on her brain and put a rod in her leg. Both her hips were broke, a leg, couple of vertebraes were hurt and they think her brain moved some. I may have told you guys this already but I have been in the clouds and don't really remember. SHe made it through the surgery though and to me shows a major sign of strength. Also, even though she's in a coma she is now listed in stable condition so that is an answer to prayer as well. You guys are great. THank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. Mine are with you all too. Hugs from down south.

Trying to Quit Smoking?

Hi everyone;   Always great to be able to read the postings, even if I can not always post.  This board is a real pain in the ***!  Just when I think I have it all figured out, I try to post and.......nothing!  So happy to see everyone here including the new folks...Ron, Gina and blue_rose, if I missed anyone...welcome on board too.   This has not been my week....a lot of hassles and inconvenience.  BUT next week is another week, another time.  I will not dwell on this one very long....oh boy, what a week.   Yes Ann I sometime try to send e-cards and some of them will not end.....go figure!  It is almost a gift to myself when I can manage to send on and the other person actually receives it.  I am now trying to read some of the posts and I have lost then I think.  Before I logged on I was able to read some but now, it seems that they are not in the same order than they were in before.    Anyways, if this gets posted, have a great weekend everyone.  All the best to Ann and Tray.....Hang in there to our new friends and hope that Linda can eventually post again.  Mario must be neck deep in work with his new job....good for him!!!  Hope to read the blue_rose soon, as well.  Hugs from up North.   Keep on keeping on everyone.      Aggie Six months, one week, two days, 17 hours, 21 minutes and 26 seconds. 4768 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,906.81. that's so great..you are so close to a week..I can only tell you that my first three weeks were the worst, but after that I became almost giddy to be a non smoker..I am glad you joined us..I'm headed to bed now..I'm sick from watching so much of the coverage of the hurricane..I gotta tell ya, I've been in a natural disaster and I was not able to leave my home for two days, we had some supplies on hand, but we did go with no electricity or being able to get out of the neighborhood..it was frightening to have the National Guard posted at the end of our block and they did not care much for my excuses about wanting to leave, so I stayed put..I can't imagine what those people are going thru..the suffering is awful, I am praying constantly for them.  I'm sick of the news anchors already second guessing, etc..it's so petty....good God, next time people, bus the people out BEFORE the hurricane..::sigh:: enough from me..love to all..Ann

Hi Gina, wellcome to the board!  All I can say is if you have gone this long don't turn back!  I went almost 3 weeks and blew it by just thinking I could have one.  Yeah, and here I am again ......

I will quit smoking in 4 days, 15 hours, 53 minutes and 40 seconds.

I wish you all the luck in becoming a non-smoker!

Hi Gina;

Great work and keep on keeping on.  It is not hard like it is now all the time.  It does get easier with time.  You have gone this far, do not turn back now as someone said here.  This is so important for you and your girls.  Post often and take it one day at a time.   Thinking and praying for you.

Thanks Aggie, It is getting easier, but it is still hard. At least the urges go away alittle quicker. Your over 6 months, that really is great. Thanks again Gina
