Trying to Quit Smoking?

Quote From: tray00

Hi Gina, wellcome to the board!  All I can say is if you have gone this long don't turn back!  I went almost 3 weeks and blew it by just thinking I could have one.  Yeah, and here I am again ......

I will quit smoking in 4 days, 15 hours, 53 minutes and 40 seconds.

I wish you all the luck in becoming a non-smoker!

Thanks Trayoo, There have been times, when I think I will have just one, or even just a few puffs, but I have managed to talk myself out of it. Thank God. You'll make it. i tried quitting many times thru out the years. Never was able to go more than a day or two until now..I'll keep you and everyone else in my prayers Gina

Checking IN

hello everyone..just thought I'd check in and see how everyone is doing, it's so nice to check back on and see everyone's progress or just posting how they are doing..I'm still emersed in the TV coverage of the hurricane..It's so heartbreaking, but sinking into self pity and not taking action is no way to cope,s o I stayed busy today..my husband is in a tizzy..he was all set to go to his cousin's tomorrow to spend two days on the river riding his 4 wheeler and the starter is out on his suv..he's not a happy camper..my daughter has two pickup's, but I doubt he will ask to borrow one..anyway, I 'm just staying out of his way and gonna head to bed in a bit..love to all..have a great Labor Day weekend..Ann

Checking in

Hi everyone;   Just checking in.  Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend!  Wondering how Mario and Shelly are doing.  I see that Ann, Tray00 and Leasa are right in there, along with Gina.  This is an off day for me...I get bored if I have nothing to do.  This afternoon, I might go sit along the river for a while and take in a few rays.  Yesterday was not a great day for me, I had a few more cravings than usual.  Have no idea where all that cames from.  Strange that even after all this time, I still get those right out of the blue.  Have a great weekend all and keep on keeping on.  Hugs from up north.   Aggie Six months, one week, five days, 11 hours, 3 minutes and 35 seconds. 4836 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,934.19. Life saved: 2 weeks, 2 days, 19 hours, 0 minutes.

Hi Aggie, and everyone, I hope I don't get cravings after 6 months. It's been 2weeks 3days and 6 hours for me. Still hard at different times of the day, but not as bad as I expected it would be. Hope everyone is well, and still smokefree. Luck and prayers to all Gina

Hi Gina;   I did not mean to discourage you with my last posting.  Of course you will still get cravings every now and again but only in passing and not too often.  Congratulations on your two weeks being smoke free.  I know that after two weeks it's a whole lot better than the first day!  I also know that it was a whole lot harder on day one than it is now for you.  Just keep in mind that each day you are smoke free is 24 hours more than yesterday.  Imagine what is going on in your lungs now.  They are taking in fresh air instead of smoke.  Imagine how much better your heart is working.  Imagine how proud your loved ones are about you!  Take it one day at a time, we know it's hard but it is a possible dream.  You can do it since you've been doing it for the past 2 weeks now...tomorrow will be easier yet!  Have a great evening and keep on keeping on.  Hugs and prayers going your way.   Aggie Six months, one week, five days, 15 hours, 3 minutes and 45 seconds. 4840 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,935.85. Love to all

Hello everyone, I'm into a lot of gratitude tonight..I just wanted to share with everyone about the blessings I feel after watching all the suffering..I cut back on my TV today and did some stuff with my granddaughter, CAssie, this weekend..we went out to a nice restaurant last night and today we started a mosaic table..I am not very crafty, but there is one thing I do well..I leave pots on the patio and forget about them until they crack in the cold weather, so then they are able to crack some more and I make stepping stones or tables.  I buy those plain stepping stones at Walmart, then glue the pieces of ceramic to the stone, then I grout it with either tile grout or cement, whatever I have in the garage..it's an easy thing to do and people love homemade gifts..anyway, that's what I did..my husband went to his cousin's to four wheel down the river, but I just wasn't up to it..we went back on the 4th of July..took the dogs, Cassie and our RV..it was an awful trip..I had just gone back to smoking and we had a storm, I didn't want to relive that..anyway, I'm still not smoke free..I've cut back is all I can say progress wise, but I will get my head on straight soon..I applied for a job at the Curves where I exercise and I know they do not want a smoker for the job..so I have to quit for that..wish my self esteem was high enough to quit for me again, but I'm just too weak right now..at least that's my excuse today..anyway, I just wanted you all to know I love you all..during this time of crisis in America, we need love..best to you all..Ann

Trying to Quit Smoking?

Just wanted to say hi!  Ann that is such a great idea to do with pots!  I have a freind that does stuff like that.  She had this cofee table, it had three peices of glass in it, anyhow she took the glass out , and the placed a peice of wood under it, in then used these tiles that she bought and grouted them in.  Does the table ever look awesome!  Great thing to do instead of throwing it out because  a peice of glass got broken!

This is my third day on the welbutrin, I hope it starts to kick in!  I am looking forward to a year from now when I can call my self a non-smoker!

 good afternoon!
i passed my eight and a half months yesterday. i still get my urges to smoke! my new job keeps me on my feet a lot so there is no time for funny stuff there. downside of it that my job creates the urge for smoking! by the way my new job is roasting coffee, and every morning we have to cup the roast from the day before! but my success is that i had to reprogram my brain! don't worry about any weight gain or bad habits you pick up in your first few months.
you'll have lots of spare moments to deal with them than. but for now your only focus should be to stay as far away from the smokes as you can.
till than.'
Keep your stick on the ice!
east coast mario

ps: i hope the rest of the gang is still on board!
sorry for not posting that often! will get my new pc at work within the next few weeks!
