the life of Bi Polar

I have been recently diagnosed with Bi Polar as well as other disorders and have no true idea what to expect from this disorder or what will happen to me from here on out.  If anyone here can share their story or even just the day by day 1 day or 1 hour at a time I would really appreciate it.  I have never been a member of a group like this before so not sure how it works.  I just can't sleep again & like Dr Phil & stumbled on to this group so I joined hoping it will help me make sense of what is happening to me and maybe help me cope.

I really do feel like a lost child.

Bipolar Disorder

Quote From: lpewagoner

Thank you for the info. You helped me understand what her options are. We are from Ky Do you know anything about disability in Ky? I dont know if I want her in the system as bipolar. You know how they label you and then you cant get a job if you get better. Any answers will help and be appreciated. lindaw

yoiur welcome. I dont know any laws in Ky. ike i said usually the consultaton is free.. and if they win they take a percent. I use to worry about the label too. But after awhile. well its say you have diabetes thats what you have. Even with bi polar she doesnt have to tell people she has it when she starts working. Just that some days are good and some days are bad.

Recently i was diagnosed with Borderline Disorder, I was so angry it do to why all these labels. But no one else knew. and they deal with these things all the time. My friiend works at SSi in the Medicare dept. and she sees people with disorders mental all the time. And she says she her heart goes out to them. she has not judged me because of ending up in the hospital and taking care of my kids for eight days.
Its how you look at it. and get past how others will look at her. if they have a problem with so be it. they just dont understand and if they want to then tell them.

your doing awesome....keep up the good work.

If you are like me, you will triple think every decision, double think every act and think about absolutely everything you say or do.  You brain is not functioning correctly, nor can it without meds.  There is no reason you can't live a normal life, its just that the new "normal" will require meds, lifestyle changes and constant self-assessment.  Being bipolar gives you great powers to do wonderful things, like Hemmingway and Van Ghoh.  Iam finishing grad school and will graduate in May  with a Masters.

show alerts are poor

Last year when you sent show alerts to tell the weekly stories the  messages were colorful and easy to read and told whether it was a repeat or not.  This year the alerts are difficult to read because there are symbols in them (like when you are printing swear words and don't want the reader to know what you are saying?  x?!xq#%(like this))  Also they do not say if it is a repeat and they are in black and white.  What happened?

Bi-polar With Fibromyalgia

I was diagnosed with bipolar II a year ago and then this year I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia (muscle disorder) I'm always in pain and depressed all the time. Sometimes I wish I didn't have all these problems because there is more problems on top of these two. I am always in pain and always depressed because I don't know what to do without having to worry about medical bills, got more then I can handle. It's hard to find a job when they know your bi-polar and now its worse because I have physical limitations. I have no money to go to the gym like I'm suppose to because of stretching the muscles evey day. I'm Overweight now because of the meds I take. I don't have any friends except my mother and mother-in-law. If you having any suggestions so my marriage can be happier let me know please. Thank you Debbie

Bipolar Disorder

I am just now being or in the process of being bipolar.   I have lived 57 years knowing something is not right with me.   My whole family especially my mothers side should have been diagnosed many many years ago.  A few years ago my youngest son was diagnosed with bipolar shizoid.  But he was the first and only to be diagnosed with any type of bipolar.  I know when I was 20 a doctor told me that I was borderline manic whatever that means.   Now at 57 someone is saying bipolar?   I have lived all this time without medications or becoming an adict to street drugs.  That is not to say I have not had some really hard times, but somehow(with the help of God I am sure) have made it this far.   To anyone who says to do it completely without medications I say humbug.  I am sure my life would have been very much different and I am sure better if I knew then what I know now.   I try to help people online as much as I can, and then when I see I am not helping them I try to get them into counseling of some kind.  I don't know most of the time if it works, all I can do is try.   I look at it this way if I have come this far then maybe something I have learned will help someone not have to live this long without making changes in their own lives to be happy with themselves and the life they choose.   Thank you for listening.                                              Carrie
