What about completely moving all the furniture around or coloring my hair red....would that be hypomanic tendencies as well?   LOL

LOL

I would say if you move your furniture around often, then yes.

If I had the space to do it here, I would.

As far as coloring your hair red.....I believe you color regularly.

The action itself is not hypomanic, but what is the thought behind it?    Ahhhhh, there comes the hard part.

Tendencies.....mabye..............................mabye not

LOL....  Let's see...  If I color my hair red because I feel like a different person that may be multiple personality disorder instead of bipolar.  hahahahahahahahaha

dunno what happened my computer went screwy .....

anyhow.....Hello I am new to the boards here and I have bipolar disorder and just found this topic here.

Wanted to say hello and get in on the convo here.  EVer hear of bipolar 2 ..well thats me..On something sI cannot relate to many biploar sufferers. I do not have major swings and I rapid cycle so I am everywhere. If you never heard of it . it is just a milder form of bipolar. I do not get real manic or deeply depressed. I can be depreesed one minute and then few monutes later I can be ok then not...Its crazy and exhausting.

I do not want to take meds howevere I do at this time. I was on a few meds 3 yrs ago but stopped to have a baby   and I never really took them all back up or am at my usual dosages.

well enough blah blah......looking forward to chatting here.

There are several people on this board that have the diagnosis of bipolar 2; so you came to the right place.  I have the diagnosis of bipolar 2 but I also struggle with deep bouts of depression.  The bipolar spectrum is so vast.    I have read that bipolar 2 is more difficult to treat than bipolar I and rapid cycling is also more difficult.  You are very fortunate to be able to maintain stability without medication.

Thanks..

I am currently on meds ,but not at my regulated dose. I do not like the med I am on and waiting to change docs to change my meds. My current doc will not change me.

It is a struggle day to day to "stay sane". I am agoraphobic as well so being in my own element has helped. I do go out maybe once a week , and I take walks with my baby around the block but really that is all.

What meds are you on?  I take Abilify, Lexapro and Klonopin.  I can't believe your doc won't listen to your concerns.  I hope you find a new doc soon.

Hello

Yes, I started the class 2 days ago. She told our class that she used to teach high school. So she's fudging or something. Either way, I was a good girl and didn't give her any problem.

We have a small class of 12, so I think she is happy with our group. We make her laugh and keep her on her toes.

She liked the 1st page of my rough draft for a descriptive narrative story, so I can't give her too much crap. So far so good.

Ok, I gotta get a ham started for dinner tonight.

Later,     Jen

Good morning!  Tammy posted this a little while back: :o)

Types of Bipolar Disorder
Patterns and severity of symptoms, or episodes, of highs and lows, determine different types of bipolar disorder.

Bipolar I disorder is characterized by one or more manic episodes or mixed episodes (symptoms of both a mania and a depression occurring nearly every day for at least 1 week) and one or more major depressive episodes. Bipolar I disorder is the most severe form of the illness marked by extreme manic episodes.

Bipolar II disorder is characterized by one or more depressive episodes accompanied by at least one hypomanic episode. Hypomanic episodes have symptoms similar to manic episodes but are less severe, but must be clearly different from a person’s non-depressed mood. For some, hypomanic episodes are not severe enough to cause notable problems in social activities or work. However, for others, they can be troublesome.

Bipolar II disorder may be misdiagnosed as depression if you and your doctor don’t notice the signs of hypomania. In a recent DBSA survey, nearly seven out of ten people with bipolar disorder had been misdiagnosed at least once. Sixty percent of those people had been diagnosed with depression.
