hypnotherapy

Quote From: jayme0821

I too sent an e-mail to Dr. Phil.  I was surprised to hear this condition is "one of the most curable conditions there are", as I have suffered with it for over 20 years and it affects my life and the lives of my children and husband daily.  I would like to see a show dedicated to this topic, with advice on HOW it can actually be cured.  This is a horrible condition that affects EVERY aspect of our lives.  Our relationships are in trouble, we have no social life, we have problems keeping jobs etc etc.
Dr. Phil has got to be talking about the process of desensitization along with calming techniques.  I am a hypnotherapist and I have worked with many people with fears and phobias and you wouldnt believe the difference after just a few sessions.  You are also given tools and techniques that you must use to reinforce the behavior. I also make special CD's for my clients to listen to. Keep looking until you find a good hypnotherapist. I know a lot of therapist that  I would never recommend so keep looking until you find one that can help. Hypnotherapy is the answer!!!!

premenopausal anxiety

Quote From: shaky_nerves56

I am looking for some feedback on how to cope with premenopausal anxiety that seems to be cyclic and literally puts me out of commission when the smallest thing causes an anxiety attack that I am fully aware is foolish and without due cause and yet will incapacite me from being able to function.  As I move deeper into this perimenopausal stage, I find my capacity for being able to cope with these episodes lessening.  I am looking for some natural remedies to see if they help.  I literally feel like I am vibrating all the time and it is hindering significantly my quality of life.  Luckily I have a husband who is really understanding and he suggested I write to this site. Any adivise?

I hope this menopause is not this bad for I don't think I will make it through it.

Shaky

Sorry, I don't have any answers.  I, too, have been suffering from anxiety attacks since entering menopause.  As a younger person, I suffered terribly from panic attacks but I was able to work through it, with medication and counselling.  However, since entering menopause, I've been suffering from these horrible anxiety attacks for about 5 years.  It is very cyclical and I'd like to solve the problem with something other than drugs.  I can have several weeks completely symptom free but once the attacks start, I can have several a day.  It is exhausting and depressing.  Recently, I've noticed them take a bit of a change and I'm finding that they tend to effect my vision especially if I'm driving, my eyes are very sore after and I'm sure that the panic that comes from my vision being distorted is contributing to my sore eyes after.  That never happens when I'm in my home so I'm sure that it's panic related.  How many ways can these anxiety attacks find to contribute to daily misery?  It's absolutely exhausting and effects my daily life.  I still have 2 children at home as well as a 4 year old grandson that has been abandoned with us to raise.  I can also empathize with your "I feel like I'm vibrating all the time" as I, too, can feel that way.  I'm just thankful that the "vibrating anxious feeling" is also cyclical.

Sorry, no advice, just empathy.

its a time thing

everyone i know has a problem with me being 30 mins early. no one understands why i do it. when i'm 30 mins early i feel fine and when i am less than 30 mins early i go into a panic. my heart starts racing, i cant breathe, alot of times i start to sweat, and i get moody. no one understands me. i dont know how this started happening but i have always been like this. i dont like to panic because one time someone thought i was about to go through a heart attack or a stroke because my left arm went numb and it was tingling. i wished i knew what to do to get over this.

Anxiety Attacks with worry of family

Trying to deal with a situation of my youngest son being addicted to pain medications as well as his wife.......he has lost his job......she threw him out of the home......he is now up in Connecticut with his dad......and it is the unknown on what his tomorrows will bring......two babies are involved here......he treasured them dearly, they were his life.......and now he is homeless/penniless/carless/etc. and I so want to help him out but wanting him to understand his addiction first.......as I don't want him here popping pills......and scared of a reaction.......

I am attending the al-anon classes now.......getting some sort of relief but not enough.......as presently knowing my son and his father had a argument today and I trying to call the home and no answer........my mind wonders what is going on.........Im scared.......

It Worked For My Mother In The 1960's

Quote From: thepowerwithin

I havent read all of the posts here for fears and anxieties so I dont know if anyone has mentioned hypnotherapy  but believe me--that is the answer!!!!  I am a hypnotherapist and it is frustrating to see people have these fears and think that they cant do anything about it. It is also frustrating for me that Dr. Phil has never mentioned this on his show. Although I have seen Dr Lawless use desensitizaton and other techniques for calming and relaxation.  That is what hypnotherapists are trained to do!!  And this can often be taken care of in 3 to 12 sessions.  So if you have a fear of phobia , PLEASE find a good hypnotherapist in your area!!  There is no reason to go your whole life with a fear  when it can be taken care of easily by reprogramming the subconscious mind.  This is not like stage hypnosis,  I am talking about hypnotherapy for self improvement and fears and phobias can be taken care of quickly and easily.  Write me for me info if you need to: thepowewithin@earthlink.net

My mother had panic and anxiety so bad in the 1960's that she would not leave the house. She with the full moral support of my dad went through hypnotherapy and totaly overcame it without the need of medications.

panic attacks

My husband has been having panic/anxiety attacks for months now and none of the medications the doctors give him seem to help. We never know when it will hit or if he Can  work that day. It has stressed us out so much and is actually very scary at times. I just hope his doctors find something soon to help him.

Shaky, thats my husbands name. he has the same problem as yours and has had these problems since feb of this year. he takes all kinds of medicines including Zanxax, prozac and clonipen or something like that. nothing seems to help good luck and God Bless. Its is very frustrating cause they consume you. If we figure out something maybe I can pass it on to you.

Anxiety & Depression

Dear Dr Phil,

I am writing this in part to thank you for putting mental health issues out there so that people are not as afraid to ask for help. You have done an amazing work with all your causes and praise you and your family for all that you have done and continue to do. Thank you.

The other reason for writing this is that I have seen a few shows that you have done on mental health and relate so much.

i suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. I ahve also suffered from major depression. I am now in apoint of my recovery that I have beaten the depression But not before I tried to take my own life leaving behind my husband of 15yrs and 2 daughters 13yrs & 11yrs. At the beginning of August I was put into hospital on suicide watch, my medictation was changed and have not looked back ever since. I was that bad i could not even leave the house to hang up washing or pick up my daughter from school, could not go to the grocery store or even drive a car. Some days my husband would come home and find me huddled up in a ball in the corner in my safe chair. My anxiety and deression had well and truly taken over my life.

It is now October and I still take my medication every day, I have therapy sessions and visit my GP regularly. Between all of this I am now able to take life with both hands and run with it. I do everything that I was not able to do. What is now incredible is that I am catching a bus toomorrow to go to a quilt show For 2 days by myself 3 hrs away from my home and family. I am excited by this it is a challenge and it will be fun and am looking forward to it.  3 months ago this trip would not have been even mentioned now I am having the best time of my life. I am now making quilts to sell, going and seeing and doing things that a few months ago would not ahve been possible.

With the right medication, therapy, support mechinisms and strategies it is amazing what we can achieve.

Thank you

Leeza Warren

That is the good thing about hypnosis, there are no negative side effects that you may get from medications.  Hypnotherapy works!!
