Dr. Phil speaks with self-proclaimed slacker wives and moocher moms, who admit they fall short in the mom and wife categories. Keya is a stay-at-home mom who spends 18 hours a day in bed, while her husband, Tyrone, works and does everything around the house, including waiting on her hand and foot. Keya considers herself a “rich man’s wife, but Tyrone says he’s not rich at all, and he’s tired of feeling more like her maid than her husband. Dr. Phil has a surprise for Keya! Next, Nick and Tara turn in their mother, Rita, who is unemployed, living in her van -- when she’s not crashing at their homes -- and constantly receiving handouts from her family. Her family claims she’s even taken money from her grandson’s piggy bank! Are her kids to blame for always coming to her rescue? Then, a mooching mom makes her daughters feel guilty if they don’t pay her bills and give her cash. She has a job, so why is she taking her daughter’s student loan money? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

Tyrone

Quote From: dgdubya

Way to go Keya......The DG's watched your show and we love you and we love your style!

How do you spend the other 6 hours? If the funny-guy doctor calls you (and I'm sure he will) ask him when's the last time Robin washed a floor?  That was deplorable!......call the guy up for help and he (tries) to humiliate and embarrass you in front of the world.

You should've *hurt * your back while mopping that filthy floor and you would've been on handsomely paid bed rest forever!!

Wani & Babs

Tyrone should have told Dr Phil that his Queen didn't do floors....a real man wouldn't sit back and let his lady wash the bald guys floor!

The bald guy is trying to keep women in their place. Just because Robin follows him around like a little puppy and nods her head politely at every word he says doesn't mean the rest of us worship the male sex. Tyrone should be paying the big price for screwing around on her. He is lucky she is still around. He should also be doing foot massages and getting her a bigger T.V. for her bedroom.

Quote From: dgdubya

Real women clean toilets and cook dinner.!!...this will make Keya feel good?.......don't listen to this Keya...keep up whatever you're doing....Tyrone's lucky that you've allowed him to pamper you for so long....you're a giver.

Wani & Babs

Keya....that idea you had about getting a fridge and microwave in your room is perfect....get Tyrone to carry it up tonight when he gets home from work!

I thought it was demeaning that Dr. Phil made Keya mop the floor. What is that supposed to prove? Maybe Dr. Phil, if he is so concerned, should pay Molly Maid to go in and do the cleaning for poor Tyrone.

07/10 Slacker Wives and Moocher Moms

Quote From: housewife52

Keya sounds more like she is depressed. I could not stay in bed that long. I get up at 6:00 everymorning to make coffee and walk the dogs. There is always something to do around the house. I also have flowers outside and mow the yard. I like to cook-I'm always trying out new recipes because the same old dishes can be boring. My kids are grown so I'm through that stage. Now I have to admit sometimes I have days when I slack a bit. Sometimes I just cannot get going full speed. But on the whole I work pretty hard at home. I have no desire to stay in the bed for hours. Even if I wanted to, it would make my joints hurt. I feel better when I'm moving about.
Yes she sounds depressed no motivation or hope she seems to not value herself...red light she has something going on besides laziness....she constantly shifted the blame to her husband she had absoloutley no accountability....like Dr Phil always says you cant change what you dont acknowledge....own it Girl quit playing the blame game,Do it for your kids.

Dump Tyrone

Quote From: dgdubya

Tyrone should have told Dr Phil that his Queen didn't do floors....a real man wouldn't sit back and let his lady wash the bald guys floor!

Keya, dump that loser Tyrone and get a rich man like Robin did. Then no one will complain if you spend the day on yourself. That is what rich people do.

Relocate

Quote From: nyche12

Oh my gosh, I just can't believe this woman....I mean to stay in bed all day & eat & not get up for the kids, I mean what's wrong with her? Is she depressed or something? I mean something has to be wrong with her...no exercise or anything...I mean I get up exercise, work in the yard & do things to better myself so that my kids grow up to learn for me.
Keya....relocate to the couch.....that 'll shut them up.....millions of people do exactly what you do but don't have the balls to laugh about it.....what Tyrone did was WAY worse.

Keya......did Tyrone get your fridge moved up to YOUR bedroom yet?

I can't believe that Tyrone complained about you NOT wearing jeans.....what an idiot! Jeans are very uncomfortable to wear while resting in bed........

Our favourite brand of jammie bottoms are Old Navy, they're very roomy and soft.......if you find that you're running out of jammies before Tyrone gets the wash done then that means, he's not using his time wisely (deal with this) ....or, you need to send him out for a few more pairs.

Needs answers from stay-at-home, college-educated woman

Quote From: flthomcat

I am a stay-at-home, college-educated woman who taught high school for 9 years and was a felony parole officer for three. I was excellent in both positions, but I LOVE being a fulltime, hands-on Mom more than I loved either job.

MANY are great teachers and great parole officers, but NOBODY else can be the mother of our wonderful children! There is no better reward than spending quality time with growing, needy, loving children and LOVING every minute of it!!!

.

With that said, I have NEVER been a slacker. I work hard with keeping schedules going, running errands, attending school and sport functions, keeping the house clean and orderly, having sit-down dinners on the table so we can enjoy eachother nightly, planning family gatherings, etc. LAZY is NOT part of my vocabulary and there is NEVER a GOOD EXCUSE for someone being a lazy taker!!!

.

The families who ENABLE slackers shouldn't be complaining. They are a HUGE part of the problem and the person couldn't be a lazy slob if it were not for them! Time to grow up and stand up to slackers, even if it means they get angry at you.

Until YOU change, slackers have no motivation to.

Can't wait to see this show!

I agree with you.  Being a mom is the best job a woman can ever have.  There are always things to be done around the house, not always cleaning or cooking, but playing and enjoying time with your children.  I have 8 children between my husband and I.  He allows his 3 children to be slackers.  It drives us to fighting every week.  I take care of my 2 year old, a neighbor's 2 year old, and my 1 year old granddaughter five days a week, and teach alternative school 2 nights a week.  I am exhausted doing all the cleaning, cooking, shopping, etc. and I just get irritable when they lay on the couch doing nothing because he thinks that is fine.  We fight every week about this.  Any suggestions?  Two of the three daughters have been fired and I pointed out to him he has not taught them or let me teach them anything about work ethics.  Being a teacher of alternative students, I am big into having responsibilities and pulling your own weight. We pay for their cars, their car insurance, their cell phones, 2/3's of their college, and he thinks they owe us nothing in pitching in and helping out.  I am ready to pull my hair out.  When I would ask for their help, they would not help because he wouldn't back me up on following through or say it was too much for them.  I am 50 years old with a 2 year old, two jobs, and I'm feeling like it's too much for me!  Please help?

Totally agree!

Quote From: billie22

takeing it one step further,we live in a me me me society and that is sad. We have  many throw away kids because so many won't  make the sacrifices needed to raise kids or be a husband or wife.

I wasn't perfect and I also worked, but you know I never even thought it was anyone else duty to raise my kids, now we live in society of grand parents raiseing grand kids, myself included.

I love my grands very much but I also feel cheated out of grand parent privilages.

Boy do I agree with you!  My husband and I currently have custody of our 5 yr. old grandson.  Mom is not able to take care of him right now because she has borderline personality disorder and at the present time it has 100% control of her.  All she can think about is herself and what everyone else can do for her.  We have given her over $3,000 this year and she still expects more.  She can't hold down a job for more than 2 weeks.  Dad is happy being a weekend parent.  I love the sweety to death, but I would love it if we could be the "Grandparents" again.  I, like you, paid my own way.  I just don't understand society today and how people think that society owes them!
