(Original Air Date: 09/12/07) Affairs, fights, lies and dark secrets are tearing a family apart. Brandon and Amy have been married for 2 1/2 years and have three children. One year into their marriage, Brandon was caught having an affair with their teenage nanny. Was she the only one, or did he cheat with others? The couple's tumultuous relationship reached a breaking point when Amy, who said she feared for her life, obtained a restraining order against Brandon. What led him to file divorce papers?  Then, five months into the proceedings, their relationship reignited. Why did Amy let Brandon back into her life? Amy's parents and her ex-best friend, Heidi, say Amy's heading down the road to disaster. So why do they doubt Brandon's recent revelations? And, why does Brandon say Amy's ruining his reputation? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

UGLY TRUTH

Quote From: yvette16

We should start to watch, what we write,

because I just find out that our kids (they lie about their age to sign in)

 are reading these messages.

Isn't that great, if you don't babysit them 24/7...

Body parts are what they are... I did not name them.  Maybe instead of thinking nannies ask for this sort of thing to happen to them, we should educate young children that not all people (Christians included) in "honorable" occupations are honorable themselves!  This father doing what he did was not thinking of his own kids, anymore than our daughter's grandfather was thinking of his whole family.  I am like you; I care about what my children read and that their life experiences are HAPPY.

Narcissitic personality disorder

Hey Dr. Phil,

Brandon has textbook NDO.  These people have the inablilty to empathize resulting in complete disregard for other's feelings.  The chances of him changing are slim, closer to nil.  It is a fascinating condition and Brandon's wife needs to research the topic of NDO to enlighten herself.

Thanks

Gina

The nanny Affair

I think he should take a lie detector test to see if he is telling the truth.

09/12 The Nanny Affair, Part 1

Quote From: nightangel1282

He was sleeping with the TEENAGE nanny??? Isn't that... against the law down there in the States? Wouldn't that be classified as statutory rape? (Hm... guess I'll have to wait for the show to get the answers to THOSE questions...)

Anyway, I say once a cheater, always a cheater. I wouldn't bother with him. Of course, there are kids in the equation as well, and that would complicate things significantly wouldn't it? Hmmm.... Looking forward to seeing this one!!

Nightangel1282

they kept saying a teenage nanny, and I was thinking the same thing as you. WOW a teenager! But during the show Dr.Phil tells you the nanny was 18! yes still a teen, but a legal teen.

wow

What he did was wrong. I think once you cheat your going to cheat again. But I'm wondering when he got married if he knew he was marrying Amy and Heidi? I have best friends that give me advice but they aren't that involved in my marriage. Maybe things would have been different if Heidi wasn't living with them. They had two babies very close together. Amy was in a car accident, and he was working. There are so many stressers there. I do believe that he shouldn't have cheated because he took vows commiting to Amy. I also think he is lying because how do you "not recall". I think he should take a lie detector test and then everyone will know the truth.

Are they really grown ups?

It seems to me that neither one of these people are mature enough to be in a marriage.  What exactly is the friends life, or does she have one?

Something familiar

We'll Nightangel she was 18 and that means she was no longer jail bait.

But moving on.

I have a piece of advice for Amy from someone who has been there. LEAVE!!!!!  Everytime I look at Brandon I see my exhusband and let me say, "Baby he isn't going to change."  Get out now and something worse won't happen.  People do change but it takes a lot of therapy, honesty and maturity.  Brandon doesn't seem to have these things.  You can see how immature he is everytime Heidi says something he tries to make it about her to take the pressure off himself. He is just making himself look worse.  Grow-up.

What a jerk

He is one of those men who like to double talk and act like he was the victim. It has been said before but once a cheater always a cheater. He is narsacistic. I am sure he has probably cheated many many times and the only reason he is on Dr. Phil is to try to trick the staff and smooth his wife's ruffled feathers. His wife said that he is very convincing. No one can be totaly convincing unless you want to believe it. I am sorry but she sounds like an enabler.

He is a joke (brandon is it?)

I am sitting here watching the show and wondering where that guys ego hasn't been... When something is brought up against him he finds ways to lay the blame elsewhere. I think that the wife is a joke also because if she had any kind of will power that the wife would be taking those children and finding a way to start her own life that would be better for those children. Right now I think the only person she is thinking about is herself.. you do not need a man to prove your worth.. She sees what he has done and she wants him back.. come on!

What A LIAR!

Hello, this man, husband, father,  is a sociaopath and a narcissist. He imagines that  any female can't resist him.  Once the facts hit his personal warped filter they change.  He is childish, supremely selfish and thinks himself a victim in this matter.  What a crock of misdirection an obfuscation he is.  When left   unsupervised he will revert to type and do whatever the hell HE wants.  No doubt about it.
