(Original Air Date: 09/13/07) The saga continues, as Dr. Phil brings you more of the affair that shattered the lives of a husband and wife and her best friend and parents. One year into his marriage, Brandon was caught cheating on his wife, Amy, with their teenage nanny. After fearing for her life, Amy filed a restraining order against Brandon, and he filed for divorce. But, their separation didn't last long. Amy decided to let Brandon back into her life, much to the dismay of her best friend, Heidi, and her parents, Cyndie and Mont. Why does Cyndie say she's scared of Brandon, and why does Mont say he doesn't believe a word Brandon says? Then, how are the kids faring during all of this chaos in the home? Heidi and Cyndie say they worry Brandon's discipline is over the top, but he says he's a loving father. What does Amy have to say? And, why does Dr. Phil question Brandon's sincerity to change? Is there hope this couple can save their marriage or should they call it quits once and for all? Tell us what you think!

Find out what happened on the show.

why do either of them want to get back together?

I thought about this show over the course of the evening. (Okay it was a boring night!) BUT I still don't get it. If he feels like his wife and her friend are out to get him - why does he want to go back? At first I thought the wife was just living in lala land and wanted him back because she loved him for some misguided reason but ... listening to her I'm going - so WHY is it you want him back? Can anyone enlighten me?

some support for brandon

FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN, I AM CONVINCED THAT BRANDON IS LYING ABOUT ALOT OF IT TO SAVE HIMSELF.  HOWEVER, I DO KNOW THAT ANYBODY HAS THE CAPACITY TO CHANGE AND WHEN U ARE CONSTANTLY REMINDED ON A DAILY BASIS OF PAST MISTAKES (IN BRANDON'S CASE 2 AND HALF YEARS WITH THE NANNY AFFAIR) WITH NO POSITIVE ENFORCEMENT THE CHANGING PROCESS CAN BECOME NON EXISTANT.  AND I SEE NO ONE, BUT DR. PHIL, ACKNOWLEDGING THAT HE IS THERE TO MAKE A CONCERTED EFFORT TO MAKE THOSE CHANGES.  I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE BEST FRIEND IS A CATALYST IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP.  EVEN THE WIFE SAYS WHEN THE FRIEND IS NOT AROUND HE IS A DIFFERENT PERSON, SO I FEEL THAT THE FRIEND IS THE 3RD WHEEL AND ONLY COMPOUNDING THE ISSUES WITHIN THEIR MARRIAGE.

Hi Heidi

I really like the protective, spunky nature of Heidi. Does she want to come to NC to visit a man who thinks positive thoughts and has a supportive demeanor?

09/13 The Nanny Affair, Part 2

Quote From: msl969

I think that the wife may be exaggerating the situation just a bit...I mean really, if you truly feared for your life and you believed that your husband was forcing sex & narcotics on a teenage girl why on earth would you ever consider reconciliation??? I also think that the friend is a big instigator. I am not saying that the husband is Innocent but i do sense as though he is being ganged up on...I really believe we may have a case of bitter grapes...I mean the babysitter or sitters have been rejected  as well as the friend...maybe they are just mad that they can't have him and that they realize he loves his wife and that they were just being used.

If he "loves" his wife, why was he catting around behind her back when she was recovering from giving birth to his child?  If that's love, I'd gladly do without it!

As for Heidi, she does come on really strong, but she's beein dealing with this (because AMY brought her into it in the first place) for a long time.  She's probably incredibly frustrated at Amy's inability to stand up for herself and her kids, and at her constant excuse making for Brandon.  Heidi was the only one on that stage who sees Brandon for what he really is - I don't blame her for being frustrated.

09/13 The Nanny Affair, Part 2

Dr Phil..

This marriage is between the wife and the husband and for the first time I am surprized you are not telling the sidekick friend that she is overly involved.  She has basically told the wife that she needs to choose between her friend and her marriage.  Don't get me wrong he has obviously made a bad situation for himself and needs to face up to that.  You say we cannot change what we do not acknowledge, he has acknowledged his indescretions.

I have a big problem with one comment he managed to inject into the mix.

The one about "neither of these 2 work"(Amy and Heidi) That was just another defensive move on his part to try and get the heat off of himself. And it sounded so sleazy of him to call Heidi a whore.I don't care what he says about anyone else, he is the one under scrutiny on this show. I admire Heidi for being determined enough to come on this show and try and portray him for what he really is. I gave up years ago trying to talk to friends about thier relationships. In my past experience, even if someone asks you what you think, they don't really want to hear it. And most of my friends stayed where they were in thier relationships. I don't think a lot of people realize how much strength Heidi has to be able and willing to stand up and be heard. I would have wimped out.

Quote From: volcano

For all those who think Heidi is too involved...

I'm sure it wasn't her idea to be on the show.

And besides, the show isn't about Heidi...

it's about that scumbag cheating so-called

husband.  Dr. Phil, I hope you keep better

control of the show during Part 2 and not allow

Brandon to spew all that venom about Heidi.

Doc, I usually like the way you keep control

of your show, but you blew it this time.

Sometimes if you give a person enough rope they'll hang themselves.
